You get a FREE Installation by a trained and qualified installer and you only pay the discounted price for the globe which is just $5. These led downlights are installed under the Victorian Government’s Energy Saver Incentive Scheme and comply with Australian Standards and all the standards set by Essential Services Commission.

This is what you will get:

Key signs of light not being compatible are flickering, making buzzing noise and giving dim light.

  3. Our light has been approved under the Victorian Government’s Energy Saver Incentive scheme also known as Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) scheme which gives you the confidence to buy this light with very high standards. The lights have gone through rigorous independent testing for every spec and periodic ongoing testing are also carried out by Energy Save Victoria (ESV) and Essential services Commission (ESC) to ensure that the lights installed are of very high standards.

  4. At the cost of 1 halogen downlight you can run 8 LED downlights, hence you will get a lower electricity bill. You could even recover you investment of $5 a globe in the time frame of getting one electricity bill.

  5. We will also remove your old halogen downlights and will decommission them at no extra cost.

  • So you'll travel anywhere in VIC? Mildura, Portland, Foster etc?

    • Yes, we have teams travelling across Victoria.

      • Question. If Mr X from Mildura puts an order in to have 10 light bulbs replaced at a cost of $50, you'll travel there? Really? Won't even cover the cost of fuel for the first 100kms.

Not knocking you, just trying to understand your business model.

        • Yes, for the areas like this we first get enough jobs for our installers to go and then install at the same time.

        • I assume this is similar to the NSW scheme whereby they claim upfront the projected energy savings these globes should make over a 5-10yr period as energy certificates which can then be sold on the open market. That's where they make the money.

  • Can we choose what colour (warm/cold) the downlight is & if so can we get some of each installed? What brand are the downlights? How many watts are each downlight? Thanks.

    • We only have warm white (3000K) and the brand name is Primsal. Each downlight is 6Watt with 440 lumens.

  • Sorry OP but they are free on gumtree. I have told my friend about it and she's got all the spotlights replaced with LED free of charge.

  • This perhaps seems the best deal for now from a provider
I have 2 questions for you
    1. What brand led light are you using?
    2. In the same visit can you install new LEDs in new locations as well? What's the cost of those?

    • Brand - Primsal
In terms of new location we will have to send an electrician and it will cost $60 for each point and $75 for each point if you require dimmable lights.

  • Replace Halogen Downlights with LED Downlights - Only $4.99 Fully Installed

Is that per room or the whole house ?

    • This price is for each light.

  • So the dimmables are $38 to instal??

    • Yes, dimmables ones are $38 when we replace the existing downlights and these will be installed by A Grade electrician.

      • -3

Can we choose a B Grade electrician and get a better price ?

        • +2

Hi jv, Unfortunately we can't as it has to be installed by an A Grade electrician. However, i can get an approval for better price depending on quantity you want.

  • +2

You need AT LEAST 10W LED lights to be bright enough. 6W? You would waste your money. That costs you $35-$45 EACH. It can easily add up to a $1,500- $2,500 bill for a house. Also, you need WARM white instead of pure white to emulate the natural light.

    • +2

Hi JohnHo, It really depends on different lights. Our 6Watt LED is brighter than 10 Watt LED that is currently available in Masters and as you said will cost around $35-$40. Yes, our light is WARM white.

    • Please check the link below for a 10w light which has only 340lumen output and our 6watt light has 440 lumen output.

      https://www.masters.com.au/product/100413777/lightstar-led-g…

      • True about the lumens output but unfair comparison with the price.
The masters one is offering a whole gimbal GU10 kit which includes the frame.
It is also a dimmable LED… GU10 and dimmable LEDs are usually more costly than a non dimmable 12v version.

I believe this product from your range serves a better comparison:

we had a company called easybeinggreen come through and offer us 6W 440lumen primsal globals free of charge, also gave us a chimney balloon for our fireplace and install door seals free of charge too.

some companies like haileo charge $10 for the same thing

  • Rep, what happens to the removed lightbulbs?

    • Hi quog, We have to take the old lights back for decommissioning.

    • +2

They install them in 3rd world countries.

      • They seem to work better without electricity.

  • +3

    Yet another LED-replacement-for-halogen scam.

440lm is hardly a replacement for a 900lm halogen. 85% less power, but for 52% less light output.

yawn Getting a bit sick of these.

    • but…

"the primsal globe is a high quality globe emitting equal if not brighter light than standard halogens"

      From https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/144106#comment-1985976

    • scam is a bit harsh…
I recently got all my halogens replaced with these…had an LED and halogen running side by side. Me and the misses couldn't tell the difference, so I don't think its fair to neg on that…
That said…after reading this thread, bit annoyed there are other people offering the same thing for free! I paid $5 each too :( …THAT should be a definite a reason to neg..

  • +1

common people, it's just 4.99 installed inclusive. It might cost you more to drive to Bunnings and back to home, that's not included the price of new bulb

    • Only applies if you have to replace only 1 or 2 bulbs. An average medium sized house requires about 25, which costs $125 to replace using this service.

  • How would this brand compare to Brightgreen dr450 or dr700?

  • +1

The deal might be called off very shortly! The Australian Renewable Energy Agency has been abolished in the Budget…..

    • the entire thing is scammy anyways - its funded by the taxpayer which means that you're already paying for these deals anyways and the overheads of the companies that operate them….

    • This is one of the stupid thing that was funded from our tax by Labour. I have enough with Labour and they will never get a vote from me again.

      • +1

After the new budget, you won't have money left to buy the led bulbs.

        • +1

haha, just read the new budget and I may re-think about Labour vote. The most loser in the budget is those who are on Centrelink benefit. I think the government should do more to control this stupid housing market and the cost of living before they do this harsh cut.

  • Hello rep, do you replace GU10 halogens to GU10 led

    • Hi dpk, No at the moment we are only doing MR16.

  • Can I ask what angle beam the led down light throws light at?

    • According to the product link provided earlier, it's 60 degrees.

    • HI twisti,

The beam angle is 60 degrees.

  • Got mine replaced for free by green home green plan(ghgp.com.au) with the same LEDs.

  • Does NSW have similar scheme for free lightbulb replacement? I have halogen downlight which I want to replace with LED.

  • Ledified Also do something similar so what are the key difference for your company?

    Choices

    FREE - Gumtree dude
    $5 - You
    $$ assume more - Ledified

Would be great if anyone has used this company and globes to provide a review.
