available in store. picked one up just before at Chadstone (VIC). I saw 4 on the shelf.
Just a note with this machine, there is a little rubber plug that at the bottom on the water tank which needs to be removed which is not mentioned in the manual.

    • Hi rhys87, when you picked it up, were the 140 capsules in the box or separate? I tried to buy in store this morning, they had the machine but not the capsules. So I didn't bother as $59 for the machine is nothing special…

    • There is a red light that comes on if you don't remove the plug. Who would have thought.
Thanks for the post OP. The guys at work here also thank you. I liked the Red coffee pod the most. Its not bad.

      comes with this box….
      http://m.imgur.com/MW2FJno

      was on display in store

  • its available in my local store, but is it better than Aldi machine?
I have the aldi machine but this look cheaper than buy extra capsules for it

  • Keep getting the checkout error!! :/

    • Same issues with me. Tried PayPal, credit card, delivery, pickup. Will just visit the local store tomorrow instead.

  • Just bought one online for delivery, received order confirmation. Went through with no issues. Thanks theearth.

  • Still shows stock in WA i presume the web site is correct.

  • +2

wow what a bargain.. think its only available in store.. so check the stock and rang them to put aside one for me.. will get there to pickup. and I completely agree that a coffee machine is a new printer… thank OP.

    • picked up and tried it, and machine quality seems decent and for the taste of coffee its good, but will try gloria or aldi (if it works) later once I finish all capsules.. 140 are a really big lot =)) great bargain!!!

  • Reserved one at local store for pickup

  • +1

    Does this take ALDI pods?

    • Takes the Woolies ones, don't think Aldi ones work as they are KFee or something

    • from the whirlpool forum, someone uses aldi pod in this machine, pinching a small hole is required though..

  • Plenty of stock at my local (over 15) - no stress fellas!

  • +5

Bought two (parents & myself) from Frankston @7am. Staff lady was seriously puzzled, but saw the clear sign on the end of aisle.

140 caps of Nespresso costs me $100+
I think its much better than aldi and vittoria, but I hate the associated wank that I'm paying for. I just save $40 and got a free machine. Absolutely worth trying.

    10 Medium Portofino
    10 Strong Venezia
    20 Mild Milano
    40 Fair Trade
    60 Single Origin
All just chucked in a small box.

Weird numbering on them. Can't be strength. Many multiples of some, but none of others. Some are between 1-8, others 5-25.

    • Hi numbnuts, were the 140 capsules in the box or separate? I went to my local this morning, they had the machine only, but knew nothing about the capsules….

      • +1

        Seperate.
25x20x15 white box with big red Map Italian Coffee branding on each face.
On two sides, big white sticky label saying exactly:
        Map coffee capsules
        140/pk

        Contains 140
        Assorted map
        premium coffee
        capsules

        Net weight 1.8 kg
        MAPPROMO95

        • Thanks, I will call the store and see if they have them.

    • Much the same experience as you numbnuts, including the staff confusion :-)

Bought 2 of these today for family also.

When i went to pick the 2nd one up, the box of capsules on the shelf had been opened and it had a fair few decaf's in it whereas the original pack with the first machine had none (had lots of the single origin, pretty sure same configuration as you have listed above).
Didn't take the opened one, got them to get me another one from the shelves and from the quick look I have had of it it's much like the first one so it does seem like there is a bit of a pot (pod?) luck element involved. :-)

  • Picked one up at Keswick in SA, stores in SA have good stock.

capsules come in a seperste box. My guy had to go searching for them.

  • Grabbed one at Box Hill this morning. Staff said they had been flying out the door since last Thursday.

There are two boxes. One is the machine. The other is a smaller white box with the capsules. Make sure you get both!

I hope you all enjoy your morning coffee :)

  • Cannot click the add to cart button on the site, I assume it's OzBargained.

    • Go in store or ring to reserve. Tonnes of stock at the stores.

  • How does the taste of this brand compare to Nespresso? (The only brand of capsule coffee I've tried so far..)

  • Impulse bought one last night… gosh… 40c per shot. Coffee machine at home works out to be ~20 per shot from beans. Looking forward to get see how those capsules work :) Thanks.

  • Bought one thanks OP! Will be good Father's day present :D

  • Picked up one of these this morning at QV Office Works (VIC)
Few left in stock at the time

  • Bought one thanks OP! Will be good Father's day present :D

      2 fathers?

      • I'm a bit slow today, took me a while to realise the funny (dupe comment above for those in my category)

      • It's 2014….

  • Can the capsules be used on the ALDI expressi machine???

    • +1

yes, but sometimes they get stuck..

  • Its available in Fairy Meadow Officeworks, just picked one.

  • Just picked one up from Toowoomba Officeworks. Still 3 on the shelf this morning and possibly more out the back. I had to ask a team member to grab the bonus box of pods, but they did have them. Thanks OP

  • Pods and machine on last aisle (at the end) about 5 left on shelf at vic park officeworks WA at 9am.

  • Anyone willing to swap the decaf capsules for something that actually is coffee?

    • +1

Sure. I hate decaf. Pm me.

      • Mmmm… I got no decafe capsules.
Mainly fair trade and single origin.

  • Just went and got the last in stock at the Clarence St Sydney OfficeWorks. Thanks OP

    • Hopefully it wasn't mine that is reserved! :)

      • No the guy was aware that there was one reserved and went out back to make sure he wasn't giving me yours :)

    • you saved the walk for me, but how do you know you got the last stock?

      • i still stubbornly checked both clarence street and pitt street. according to the staff in pitt street, the promotion ended and there is no left in any stores in NSW. according to the staff from clarence street, they MIGHT be restocked in 5-7 days.

      • Store assistant told me - there was only one other and that was reserved.

They were saying that they were going to try get some more in

        • That would have been mine… it was behind the desk. Picked it up an hour ago. Definitely none left.

  • +1

Anyone knows the pods best before date?

  • Grabbed one at QV Melbourne CBD, they said it was last one (with bonus 140 capsules), thanks!

  • Northmead had about 8 this morning at 10am

  • Got 2 units at Braddon ACT store this morning at 9.30am.
1 new machine left on top shelf and 1 display unit, plus 4 boxes of the promo pods on the shelf, so presumably they have more machines out back somewhere.

  • Im looking for a coffee machine that supports capsules that produce a white latte or white coffee.
    Would this support these capsules?

  • There is an option for Large Cup or Small Cup. But Both use 1 capsule. Does that mean one is weaker than the other?

    • +1

Assume so. Same amount of coffee more milk

      • Cheers

  • Penrith has 3 in stock.

The boxes for the 140 capsules are in the above shelf storage where the coffee is sold.

  • Anything works, aslong we we teach those stupid Cafe' operators that $3.80 for a cup of coffee is wayy too expensive.

They buy the 20kg bags cheaper than chips and Milk costs next to nothing, yet you buy 2 small coffees and your slapped $8.00

    • You're forgetting a few things:
Cups, lids, electricity, water, wages, insurance…. Just to name a few

      • +2

noone factors in the costs of their insurance and sewage and water usage for consumers that are buying the "sold product" being coffee..else the coffee would be $50 per cup

We're here to pay for the product + labor charges of someone doing it.

The cup of takeway coffee should not exceed $2.00 takeaway, plus extra for seat-in

Coffee is one of the lowest margin products which you can sell for a large premium

        • +2

No, you'd look at the cost of running a business. And that includes all that stuff. And as you'd want to run a profit, you'd base your pricing on the business as a whole.

    • People (IE, me) like the ritual. I like going to my preferred coffee places and getting coffee on the way to work. Having said that, I also patron places that will sell those big large cups for around $5. Even places like The Coffee Club sell a large coffee for about $7 which I think is a bit rich.

  • I was just at the Milton store in Brisbane, said that the sku on the machine on the shelf was not the same as the sku for 140 free pods version and that there were none left in any store in Australia. Website says they are still in stock though at Milton. The buy online option is greyed out. Should have read all the comments here before I went in. Think it's worth me going back to see if I can see the white promo box? This was at about 1.50pm today. Tuesday.

    • 6-7 left next to the entrance/checkout of the Windsor OW :)

      • 3 in lutwyche was well,, can't miss em,, box of pods are taped on the top.

  • yarraville store has 3 machines only with $59 as mormal price. no capsules to be found

asked the staff and he brought out the bonus capsule box

so there are two machines left.

no record of the capsule box on the receipt. wonder if anyone would return the machine and keep the capsules ???

    • The true OZB'er way is to buy >2 machines, return all but 1 machine, then you get all the capsules for free lol

      • +6

That would a true dishonest person

      • +3

That's a douchy thing to do. Think about others.

There's getting bargains, and then there's being selfish.

        • +1

And not to mention the innocent, unsuspecting Ozbargainer who rocks up to pick up that last machine… Classic way to shaft one of your own!

  • Just got one from Northmead nsw, there were at least 7 left!

  • I ordered last night when it still said in stock, checked the officeworks site today under my orders and it says its on back order

    anyone else?

    • Mine says the same thing. Does anyone know if dispatched means its in the process of getting delivered? hmm

    • I spoke too soon, mine was just delivered :D

      • +1

yay, I'm going to be up all night :)

  • 20 pods of decaf in my box ;_;

  • Mine said similar thing, delivery date was suppose to 13th, but just picked it up at local store. The machine seems an improvement on the aldi one. The aldi pods will probably work too in this machine, I'm yet to try them. They are same shape and size it appears. I've used the map pods in the aldi machine, so I can't see why it won't work the other way around.

Edit: I guess you guys got free delivery instead of store pickup. Lucky I couldn't get free delivery afterall. I hate being put on backorder, hope you guys get it asap.

    • +3

DO NOT use the Aldi pods in this machine or the Woolworths one. The Aldi pods do not have filters, as the filter is in the machine. The MAPS/Caffitally pods have 2 filters, one at the top and one at the bottom. But these pods can be used in the Aldi machine.

Note: The Caffitally (read MAPS) site warns that the lack of filters will clog the machine i.e. if the Aldi Ktel) type pods are used.

      • +1

But the Woolies pods are Caffitaly….

        • I will spell it out for you ….. DO NOT use the Aldi pods in this (MAP) machine and DO NOT use the Aldi pods in the Woolworths machine (Caffitaly). There is that clear?

      • Thanks for the feedback

  • +1

Impulse bought one online last night at 9.30pm.
    Was delivered at 3pm today.
The box and the pods don't have a expiry date on them.

  • Mine has been delivered and Coffee has been made :D

    Very nice.

  • Five dock NSW has a lot of them

    • wasted a trip going there just now, completely an empty rack with just the sign left, all gone … lucky next door shell has cheaper petrol to fill up the car …

      • Sorry for that but when i post my comment i was there buying one, and they were at least 8-10 of them
        Edite:
If you are near by i am happy to give you mine for the same price i bought it for, i didnt open it still in the box. I dont really need it

        • Which suburb are you?

        • PMed you

  • Are these things like Dolce Gusto where the pods have milk powder and it froths its own milk, or does the milk have to be frothed separately like Nespresso?

    • No milk, you need a frother.

  • Is the coffee any good?

  • Mine was delivered this afternoon. When I press the button the pump starts for a second, stops and pauses for about 2 seconds and then starts again and keeps going until the shot is done.

Is this normal? A bit different from the Nespresso machines I have used before where the pump runs constantly from when the button is pressed until the shot is finished.

    • Is this normal?

Mine does exactly the same, which can't be a good thing, coz if you change pod flavours, the new one gets a little of the previous pods' taste. It was also squirting the coffee sideways until I cleaned the inside of the nozzle with an ear bud. Seems ok now.

      • +2

I always press the Espresso button without a pod inserted to clear out any of the previous residue before I put the pod in. The water comes out a little bit dark. Unless the previous flavor was the same flavor as the one I'm about to use.

        • I thought that's what you meant to do

        • It doesn't say in the book that you have to.
