I know last week woolies had it for 10 for $10…but not everyone can buy 10 in one shop, so its nice to see they having a reasonable multibuy offer…

  • Chobani**

  • 5 for $7 in WA (dog swamp)

  • Not in my local catalogues (VIC)…

  • Feel sorry for the woolies guy. It's a pain in the ass having to rotate and fill all that.

    • Indeed it is, which is why the specials are great, with a self capacity of 3-4 boxes, my store selves are empty by the time I fill them again the following afternoon.

    • +2

That's when they actually remember to rotate perishable stock.

      • +3

        remember to rotate perishable stock.

I always buy the ones from the back… Usually a week or two fresher…

Isnt that yogurt made from cow's fed gmo?
    http://gmoinside.org/take-action/chobani-uses-milk-cows-fed-…

    • "Most likely" ≠ definitely.

    • I was going to ask the same question. are these product of Australia or imported? apparently Whole food has recalled these in States due to gmo issue.

      • +2

        These are made in Aus.

        • So that limits it to GMO Canola, right? I'm not up to date on what has been approved for commercial release. Has sorghum or other likely cattle feed been GMO approved yet?

        They are made in Dandenong…

Title should be changed to :

Chobani Dandenong Yoghurt, because they are definitely not Greek.

Did you just link a US based website and referring to their US manufacturing process?
      WE are in Australia firstly.

Generally, it would be produced in Australia so the statistics and "facts" regarding the milk industry you have just linked us to don't apply to off the shelf products from Woolworths and such.

Secondly, there is always a study supporting this, and a study supporting that. I have not seen any links to the study on the website(suggesting lack of professionalism and credibility) and had to research it myself.
"Dr. Carman's team discovered a significant increase in stomach inflammation in the pigs fed a GE diet. Overall, inflammation levels were 2.6 times higher in GE-fed pigs than those fed a non-GE diet, and male pigs fared worse than the females."
I'd like to point out that I have personally read a few "studies" showing the is no inconclusive link behind smoking and lung cancer as well…

I am not having a go at you, just sick of people just copying and pasting links without doing some research and using common sense. ("yet sources its primary ingredient – milk – from cows most likely eating loads of GMOs") Most likely, what kind of professional website calls a boycott without facts on the production methods and based on ONE study…

    • So what? next you'll be complaining the cows were vaccinated.

    • In the USA, yes. In Australian it's 95% GMO free. Contact them directly and confirm if you need to. Jumping on the bandwagon doesn't help anyone - let's make clear educated statements.

  • Valid in nsw

  • Don't really like this yogurt. doesn't taste as good as the real aussie recipes, such as Gippsland yogurt that Chobani took over a couple of years ago.

    • +1

Well you realise it's "greek yogurt" right? Commonly call greek yogurt it is a strained yogurt which gives it a thicker, creamier (less sour) taste. It would be quite different to "real aussie recipes".

      • which gives it a thicker, creamier (less sour) taste.

Greek style yogurt is not necessarily less sour.

      • +1

For a good thicker and creamier Greek style aussie yogurt, go for Jalna and Black Swan, both can be found in the leading aussie supermarkets - again beat all the internatioal wannabes.

        • -2

I agree, Jalna is much better.

The 10 for 10 deal was a pain in the ass, so much rotation and packing of those little containers.

  • +1

I had 10 for 10 deal last time. It was actually pretty good. Wasn't sweet at all, like some sugar filled yoghurt.

    • +1

Might not have been sweet, but sugar content is still up there at around 12-15%.
