    I'm having the opposite experience with my trip to Vietnam.

    Most hotels are more expensive then when I booked a month or so on Agoda. With the 12% discount the difference is so minimal I can't be bothered cancelling and rebookinging (on one hotel the difference was about $3 a night).

      Actually, after doing a bid more digging I've found that the RatesToGo LUCKY20 code OzB'd some weeks ago (and still working) takes 20% off the same base as HotelClub and gives an even better result. For my hotel the base was already minus 30%, then this was another 20% off that, for a gross discount of about 45% so a really good deal (on hyperinflated USA Christmas rates base, admittedly :-( )

  Going to Japan in late June, the prices for the same period and even same hotels in some cases still don't beat what I've already booked on booking.com, even with the 12% off.
