All good and well, but do you still wait at the counter for over a minute waiting to pay for a item, as they are busy doing something that can wait [like putting price tags on items] OR do they serve your promptly and treat you like a valued customer?

    • I live 3.5 hours away so wouldn't know. Got my last order shipped. Though I'm moving to Melbourne on the 16th, so I'd be able to tell you if this deal lasted 1 day longer :( the Ozbargainer in me refuses to order at full price.

Ordering online is the way to go. In store service is a bit hit and miss.

They put through my apple sauce pretty fast. Of course, this was offset by finding out their "past best before" sticker was covering a date over 2 years old. Couple of months I was expecting. TWO YEARS! They don't deserve my cash any longer.

    • Yeah it was very much like that when I was there last. The service is hit and miss, as is their website, but they're the only ones who sell a few items I really like and can't get anywhere else.

    • We're always looking to improve our service in-store and online. We'll take your feedback and pass it on to our staff. Thank you!

  • Agghh that complicated delivery policy made me think…

    • Yeah. Could be better I guess. I suppose their flat rate shipping is better than what it used to be. Not as complicated as it used to be though. It's pretty alright if you're willing to get your parcel delivered without a signature. Might be easier than you remember seeing as they recently updated their shipping procedures a little.

Having to email them for redelivery is a pain though. Details for those wondering USAFoods Postage

      • Wow, I haven't ordered from them since late last year and didn't realise they'd updated their postage costs. Looks like I won't be ordering from them again, $20 flat rate to Qld D:

        • I haven't ordered from them in years but I used to like their old postage cost calculator. They would give you an estimate of the postage and then refund you the difference in actual cost, so you would only pay them exactly what it cost them to post the item. It's a shame if they changed that.

        • We're always looking at our postage rates and what will be the best for our customers. We'll take your feedback into consideration. Thank you!

    • We just changed our postage carrier and we're still fine tuning it according to how they operate. If you have any feedback please let us or Allied Express know.

    • Just dip some pretzels in peanut butter and then into nutella..

  • is it me do you they sell some products past the expiry date? saw this peanut butter jelly - says "BEST BY: May 19 2014" ….. http://www.usafoods.com.au/Breakfast/Peanut-Butter-Jams-and-…

    • That's not all that uncommon. It's only an issue if it's a use by date. Best by can even be done by some supermarkets. There's a thread in the forums actually discussing this right here (not USAFoods specific)

    • As per my previous comment, they sell stuff 2 years past the best by date. So you'd really want to check the date.

    • They do. I bought some drinks that were past best before date by 6 months. They made no indication of that fact anywhere.

    • Its American food - it will last FOREVER

    • Yes we do sell items that have past a 'best by' date and we try to clearly show they are past a best by date. Usually this best by date is only an idea of when the product is past its best quality, and we usually reduce the price accordingly depending on the item. Unfortunately when importing thousands of items from the USA it's hard to sell them all before their short best by date. Usually if its past the date by a year we'll discard it. (or perhaps i'll just eat it myself!) :)

$16.50 to post a box of cereal =/

  • Are there any USAFoods in Sydney?

  • Unfrosted Pop Tarts, Zatarain's, and unsugared Cheerios all in the same place? Shipping only $3.50 more than GroceryRun, which doesn't carry these things(*)? Given the rarity of the items, seems fine to me.

(*) GroceryRun hasn't stocked unfrosted Pop Tarts in months.

    • UNFROSTED Pop Tarts… UNSUGARED Cheerios? what is this madness?

  • I've ordered from them a few times with no hassles. Best by dates are clear enough on the web site. New delivery charges are going to encourage larger less frequent orders which may not suit me.

I rather have free shipping then 15% coupon.

Best selection of American products anywhere AND WORST customer service. I'm always over a barrel buying from them as they have a monopoly on the things I get from them, but they haven't learned about making their customers happy. Whenever we drive to Melbourne, we go and it's always a hassle to get there and the staff is always unhelpful and surly. But there is no other company offering these items so we just suck it up.

  • What I find ironic about USA Foods is they don't accept American Express.

  • Can someone upload a copy of the email to take in the store?
