Quad core, 7 inch HD display, 1Gb RAM, 16Gb storage and microSd expansion (up to 32Gb), Android 4.2

Similar (slightly inferior) specs as the 2012 Google Nexus but with microSD slot. Both are capable tablets, especially if all you need is something to browse the web, check emails, watch movies and read ebooks.

Short summary of reviews :

I think its a great buy for $99, and from an established manufacturer, but i'll leave it open for the community to discuss =)

        Bloody hell. I remember glancing at the GG catalogue a week ago and not even bating an eye lid at the tablet for this price. Just assumed it was a cheapo tablet at everyday price.

    Did anyone get one from Liverpool HN. Curious to see if anyone picked one up in store on Sunday.

    The order I made on Saturday night has been cancelled and I'd like to know if the reason of no stock is true.

      I picked one up from Liverpool on Sunday morning. Grey one and salesperson couldn't enter it into the system so he went to someone else and then it worked.

      He said "People online ordering and not picking them up".

      Maybe I have yours? :-)

          The trick with harvey norman pick up orders is if you think they may not have enough stock go to the store asap and pretend you didn't know you had to wait for the confirmation email.

          Sometimes they get a bit shitty with you but they have always given me my stuff.

    Both Harvey Norman and The Good Guys have completely removed all traces of these tablets from their websites lol.

    From what the guy showed me on their computer pretty much nowhere in QLD had any in stock and had plenty backordered today, but they have no idea when/if they'll actually get any more in.

        Those stores most likely are sold out as well. Blacktown in Sydney is showing stock of white but when i called them earlier, they said they were sold out.
        McGraths Hill has stock of pink. Online team said they did have stock.

        The individual pages were still there for a while, but when I tried to add any of them to my cart it just went to a "your cart is empty" page and didn't actually add anything.

    If you don't have the HN Amex promo better get it from TGG for the bonus transcover which is quite good IMO. The only downside is TGG has only blue tablets.

        Your credit gets removed. I ordered 2, they had only 1 and cancelled my other one. Will get refunded but I won't qualify for the $30 cashback. Unless I can get something else for $51 dollars in store when I pick up?

      Though as I write this Amazon is selling the 32GB model for 26.99 USD when the normal price is 17.99. Price changes very often and it should go back to 17.99 USD soon. This one comes with an SD adapter.

      If you are already ordering from Amazon adding the card adds something like 5 or 6 US cents to your order, so that is probably the way to go (when the price goes down). Though there are lots of other brands on Amazon that will probably work just as well. Transcend, Sandisk, etc. Shop :)

    Mine is charging. The blue model has more of a satin finish on the back (thank goodness it's not gloss). The blue is very dark; close to black. Very nice. You could mistake it for black.

          That doesn't normally happen. Usually when a retailer has an exclusive promo like that going on, they've arranged the deal with their supplier. Other retailers wouldn't be able to give you the same deal.

    I managed to get the last one (display model) from TGG Kotara, NSW with black TransCover (they also had a light blue one).
    For Newcastle people there are none left at the TGG stores, maybe Harvey Norman has some in stock.

    After my "case no show" online order, it turns out my problem will be rectified with a pink one. This should be fun. I am not pushing anyone for a particular cover. At this point just getting a cover would be nice, I think.

    Tried to order last night online via TGG website but Couldn't find the product anymore. Luckily i had added in cart on sunday and it was still in my shopping cart thus it let me do the paypal checkout process for delivery in sydney. An hour ago received a call from WA store asking me which case color I would like choice between pink or yellow for immediate delivery. Overall happy my order pushed through.

    Has anyone who ordered online from HN for delivery actually received there's yet?

    Ordered in the very early hours of Sunday, and got an email with tracking info Sunday afternoon, but the AusPost website still says no tracking events found.

    Sent off an online inquiry to HN, but getting worried that they've taken the order without having stock (or that my stock got reallocated to a staff member or something similarly shady)

      While I don't know when it actually left HN, checking AusPost this morning showed it was 'In transit' and then 'Awaiting collection' (I have a PO box) all this morning.

      Would be nice if AusPosts tracking wasn't so useless, but glad to have it in my hands.

          I think you're confusing stock with vanilla.

          A stock rom is simply the original supplied from the manufacturer.

          I'm sure what you meant to say is custom rom.

          Anyway, the Asus rom isn't vanilla Android but it's not far off, not too bad. Nothing that makes me wanna rush out and change it..

          Stock isn't bad, and I've already thrown on Nova Launcher and changed a few things how I like them to be. Only thing that's really bothering me is the notification panel. Prefer my nice clean full screen notification panel on my HTC to this one.

          Yeah, wish the notifications panel was a bit wider.

          If you want standard notifications panel, disable Use ASUS Quick Setting in ASUS customised settings.

          Taking a bit of getting used to having the floating apps panel button being on the far left too, used to it being back button

          If you want to root it, Framaroot did the trick with Borimor. Actually first time I tried, app exited, no pop ups or anything, but tried again and was successful.
          I had already updated to 4.2.4.82093 , Framaroot still worked fine though.

          Oh and to enable developer options, go to About Tablet in settings, and tap build number 7 times.

    Anyone else have this experience with TGG before?

    I ordered one of these for store pickup on Sunday morning and got a notification 10 minutes later saying that it was ready for pickup. Was going to pick it up in the afternoon but got a call saying only the display model was left and whether I wanted to take that or for them to order a new one (asked them to order a new one).

    Got a call today saying they can't order it for that price anymore so had to cancel the order. Pretty disappointed that they wouldn't honour the sale price even though I'd already paid for it.

    Do they not put aside the stock once a pickup order has been processed and paid for? Do in-store customers have priority or something?

      Most likely a staff member took it for themselves and tried to pass you of the demo model. Call the online sales team and chase it up.

        Thanks for the advice, fellow OzBargainers.

        I contacted their "Customer Care" and they flicked my back to the store (Capalaba QLD for anyone interested).

        Well, the store manager contacted me today and said that there was only 1 in stock at the time and that was in fact the display model. I find this very hard to believe but didn't want to pursue it any further so gave up.

        I'm more peeved that they offered to order me a new one but couldn't deliver in the end. Had I known this would be the outcome, I would have gone to another store in person or ordered one online with delivery while it was still available.

        Moral of the story - pick up immediately!

      I thought (and I could be completely wrong) the issue with supported storage size was to do with memory addressing, therefore nothing over 32GB should work.

      Those reporting 64GB cards working might have fake cards that report 64GB but actually have less (I know this is common with USB sticks).
