  • I have a 2003 Peugeot 307. Unfortunately it doesn't have Bluetooth as all my fav songs are on my iphone.

The car has the stock standard clarion 6 stacker CD player that works perfectly. Should I buy something like this that might look a bit dumb in the car or should I keep burning CDs at work when I get around to it?

Please make my mind up for me.

buy a nicer high end radio that looks less like tech noir

      • Would be awesome if I could just buy an aftermarket Bluetooth adapter somewhere.

The car is probs only worth 5K now do not super keen on spending very much on a new headunit.

    • I have a similar model Pioneer head unit to this one, they have a front USB port and will read USB drives.

I use a really small USB card reader ($1 on ebay) http://www.ebaypa.com/albums/20140007/poa188634-2-.jpg and a 32gb micro SD card to store my music collection. The Sandisk Cruiser Fit is another alternative. Both are small and don't stick out very far.

Damn it's bloody ugly. Seems all aftermarket stereos are designed by a high school punk on acid. I just can't see how this could look good anywhere, let alone in a car.

      I have a 2003 Peugeot 307.

      I stopped reading.

  • I have 2006 corolla, is it hard to replace the unit stock with this one?
    With minimum experience …

You can buy wiring harnesses off eBay. Just get a pioneer end and a corolla end, they plug together. I did this and it was simple, no soldering whatsoever.

      • Thanks mate.. will looking at it..

  • Not a bad price

This shop here is selling the Pioneer DEH-4550BT model but $10 less.

  • Anyone knows if it has clock built-in?

    • yes

Does your old car have connections for AUX-in and bluetooth-phone kit?
You could buy a cheap USB-powered bluetooth-stereo dongle on the USB input, but you will need a dash-mount for your phone for display and controls.
And you'll need a separate kit for phone functions. (or just use the built-in speaker function when it is dash mounted.)

Does your old 6-CD stacker play mp3? Otherwise, 6 CDs is not much.
Is your old stereo DIN sized and removable?

Replacing the head unit is often the best solution for an older car.
Its nice to be able to just leave your phone in your pocket, and access the music control and calls while waiting at the lights.

  • How good is "Android™ Media Access"?
All I see is that it does media control over USB, but there is already a perfectly good standard for media control over bluetooth, AVRCP, and it works with android, iphone and other devices.

Man I wish they made these units with normal boxy square buttons and no flashing LED's.
