Free Tap King Dispenser Unit - Use Voucher in Link

8420

MOD — we have been contacted by someone representing Lion Co stating that

The offer has now closed with over 5,000 valid claims for gifts being received. The vouchers you continue to promote do not comply with the terms and conditions of the offer which required the submission of an online claim form and are thus not able to be redeemed.

Therefore,

  • Offer marked as Out of Stock
  • URL reverted to the online form
  • If you did not use the form to claim, it would be violating the terms & conditions and don't expect it to be honoured.

Good deal for those that are interested in giving it a go but didn't want to spend over $30 for one.

Form isn't working any more so the link has been updated to take you directly to the voucher, print and enjoy.

/\ they seem to have taken the voucher down so here's a email voucher you can print.

Edit -

Just went to pick mine up and Liqourland happened to have a sale on if you buy a bottle with a tap, ended up getting a bottle of Toohey's Extra Dry for $14 thanks to this :)

Liquorland at 388 George St Sydney has officially been Ozbargained out of these things.

  • Has this deal now expired? It appears to refresh the page when you click on Submit, then when you go to submit the form a second time, it says that you have already redeemed the product. Haven't received any emails.

free dispenser, but the beer casks are a blood rip off. $50 bucks for a pack of 2 x 3.2L

oh well, might just use it as a paper weight. Thanks OP!

    • +1

Not sure if available everywhere, but see the OPs extra attachment at the top… $14!

    • Anyone who is a regular beer drinker like my dad(six pack a day) won't waste money or the time to fiddle around with the bottle at such an over priced gimmick.

  • Voucher specifically states Subject to availability of Tap King dispensers in each Participating Outlet.

    • The voucher I just received also mentions the RRP and that it doesn't come with a 3.2L bottle, unlike the ones posted here; otherwise, barcode and voucher code are the same

  • Dan Murphy's were giving these away for a while, you just need to buy a couple of full bottles.

  • Just went to Liquorland Rozelle, NSW. Staff had never heard of the offer but took the voucher and gave me a dispenser no problem. They had about 10 in stock.

    • None left in Neutral Bay, Naremburn or Artarmon (NSW)!

      • I picked one up at 6.25, they are in the back. Guy said they had 10

Does anyone know if I can refill it with water or juice? Or does it need the CO2 canister to pressurise the liquid to exit?

    • i wanna know as well.

      • +1

I want you to show meeee.. :)

    • Apparently (although I am not recommending or not not recommending the practice) you can reuse the bottle with other liquids but you will need a CO2 canister. From what I understand you will need a food grade canister which can be found using Google.
I'm not sure juice would be the best idea, unless you can find one that's got 0 pulp, because the nozzle will block easily.
You will need to be relatively handy with a screw driver too - apparently.

Mhhh … do we really fall for this marketing to be able to sell overpriced beer. A case of beer (as a "normal" bargain price is around $30 in Australia … such as a standard Oettinger from DM or as a special (price match ) from get Wines Direct.

    24 Bottles = 0.375x24 = 9l
    —> Price per liter $30/9 = $3.33

The bottles you need to buy to refill (as per post cost $14 (super special price) and contain 3.2l
    Price per litter $14/3.2 = $4.375

(It levels out again when you compare it at normal prices 40$ for the case and $19 for the refill bottle).

31% higher price per liter !!! Did I say 31% more? yes … imagine an Eneloop-Pack not at $26.2 (maybe in a new fancy colour as a novelty … I doubt it would get over 400 + votes.

Ok … I am not going to neg this deal (as it is free it's a positive!). But when you don't intend to buy overpriced beer (and I would believe the OZbargain community hardly does this) don't produce landfill and think about the environment when this device will just end up in your rubbish bin. You will not be able to sell it … as it will be always free to get people buying overpriced beer … ":-) . So please think before you jump …

    • +1

I'm hoping that more people will now buy the kegs, and in turn become the same price as bottles. I felt like I was the only one buying them (stock didn't seem to move.. yes, I spend too much time in bottle-o's).

      XXXX Gold - $19 a keg - $38 per slab ($5.94L vs $4.22L) [$3.75L if you get $7 off]
      Tooheys New - $22 a keg - $40 per slab ($6.87L vs $4.44L) [$4.69L if you get $7 off]
      Tooheys Extra Dry - $22.50 a keg - $44 per slab ($7.03L vs $4.88L) [$4.84L if you get $7 off]
      Hahn Superdry - $23 a keg - $48 per slab ($7.19L vs $5.33L) [$5L if you get $7 off]
      James Boags Premium - $26 a keg - $46 per slab ($8.12L vs $5.11L) [$5.94L if you get $7 off]
      James Squire Chancer - $27.50 a keg - $57 per slab ($8.59L vs $6.33L) [$6.40L if you get $7 off]
      James Squire Lashes - $28 a keg - $50 per slab ($8.75L vs $5.55L) [$6.56L if you get $7 off]

All prices sourced from dan murpheys, just didn't think it was fair to compare different beers ($30 a slab ones) when they aren't like for like. The beers are obviously on sale from time to time too and the prices aren't the same as liqourland's but it's the easiest comparison.
As I stated earlier, it isn't the most economical way to drink beer but it's novel and people seem to enjoy it.

    • You want a bargain?

      Work in the industry ;)

These things are bombing in the trade but hell its free brother! I work for a competitor and im grabbing one :D

    • Tap beer DOES taste better than bottled beer though. How these compare to a proper keg I'm not sure. You are right though, the price difference for tap king vs carton is pretty bad.

        • I like the fact that you did this in binary… makes it easier to read!!!

    • Often the cheapest item is worse for the environment. Thankfully, price isn't everything.

This is an innovative product, that comes with a ton of R&D to pay for. Do you lecture those buying Guinness cans/bottles, too?

  • I used to work at BWS. We binned so many out of date tap king kegs out because nobody bought them.

    • +53

Please post which BWS store and where the bin is located.

    • +5

Why don't you sell them super cheap close to the end date instead of binning them!

      • +4

Same reason why chains don't discount leftovers - it trains customers to expect lower prices.

      • +3

Mainly XXXX kegs. Couldn't even give that stuff away in Victoria, not even to ozbargainers.

    • +2

      such as waste…

      • don't think the big chains care about wastage. They don't want you to expect items to get reduce price and be happy to pay full price

        • Local Woolies sometimes sell near expired yoghurt (I saw) for super cheap =( I vote, do it!

  • +1

Picked one up at Ingleburn NSW. No problems at all. They had about 4 left on display when I walked out, and I was the first one to grab one. Apparently Apple Ciders are coming soon, for those more impartial to that line of drinking.

      What about champagne?

      • I didn't ask that. Although that might be nice as well.
Given that half the fun of Champagne is the nice POP when opening the bottle, does that mean when pouring the first glass everyone has to yell out POP ?

        • +1

Which comments??? The other 20 on here stating the same thing!!! ;)

      • Thanks, just printed this out and I can confirm it works. People working in store hadn't heard about the promotion but the form scanned and all is good!

  • Form doesn't seem to work anymore.

Damn…the one time I don't check Ozbargain for 2 hours and this happens.

  • Thanks OP! Took over an hour for my email to arrive, but went and picked it up at the local 1st Choice, where they had perhaps half a dozen in stock. Too easy! Now to get some beer for it :)

  • +6

    • It will be if the bottles are RRP.

  • +1

anyone tried showing coupon on smart phone

  • Could I refill the kegs with other drinks if just wanted to use this as a fridge dispenser?

  • so we do need a code sent to email to get the tapking ???

    • Nope just print out the voucher in the link and head down to a Liqourland or First Choice Liqour and they'll scan the barcode and its free. No need to fill in the survey that's since been taken down.

  • -5

'You have already received your free tap king' … Rubbish. Tempted to neg, hate when my time is wasted from buggy websites!

    • Use the generic coupon code posted.

    • I agree, I'm tempted to neg too… But for the people that don't read the listing or comments previously posted!!!

  • how can they limit if the coupon is generic??
why are people saying we need to get a code to our email? does this generic code that has been posted not work anymore?

    • +1

The generic code is what I used!

      • ok well im going out to try it now then, cheers. dont know why people are saying they need a new one sent to their email..

    • They didn't expect people to "share" the coupon.

It will be hard to set up a system at Liquorland etc to handle 5000 individual unique coupons. So they set up one coupon and assumed that only people who signed up will get a copy. As others have mentioned, the site seems to be down, so the "5000" coupons are all used up.

It will be interesting tomorrow when there is not one Tap to be found in the 600 odd Liquorlands and 70 odd 1st Choice in the country.

  • +1

Thanks OP, picked one up from First Choice Toowong QLD, at least 2 of them left.

The 3.2L bottle also went through the register at $13, rather than $18, so there must be some sort of promotion on at the moment.

    • Interesting. Hopefully my First Choice has discounts on the bottles as well! I'll report back if it does. Anyone else been to a First Choice and can confirm?
