    Presto = Foxtel ?

    • +4

Yes. Do not go in to it. Foxtel = Owned by greedy old people

      • Ageed… Better yet:

Let's clone the ANU's Film Group model of
sit in modest viewing cinema, with folks
we know (or will do, eventually)…

Watching 2 or 3 movies per night (often
        including a local film makers's release;
ie, this provide entertainment for members
AND supports local film-makers, ie, by
giving audiences access to their films.

Of course, ANU's Film Group has nearby
access to a gov't archive of films, etc.

Maybe the clone groups (outside Canberra)
would need to show d'loaded films, unless
they could get the Film & Sound Archive
        to digitally distribute requested films
        via the I'net.

        my 2.2 cents only

I'm guessing you didn't add the "Foxtel" bit cause of fears it might lead to negs?

    • -1

Not due to the fear of negs. Saying Presto by Foxtel didn't make much sense as I thought it was common knowledge.

      • +1

Not really. I just found out from this deal. Was interested until I saw Foxtel and their "great" selection of shows.

I'll wait for Netflix Australia and see how it goes.

        • +1

It may be a long wait……

Better off getting VPN and doing it that way. OR just continue to pirate4lyfe

        • +2

The Australian Netflix is going to be so gimped it wont be worth it.
Even worse, they're likely to tighten up on US subscriptions when they do launch the Australian version.

        • @scubacoles:

This is so on the money it ain't funny. As much as a Netflix Australia would be great, the situation will be worse than what we have now.

      • I, for one, didn't know that…

  • +2

    Isn't Presto banned from Ozbargain?

    • +1

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/presto.com.au

Not at present but they probably were for a time due to socking.

Also not a freebie if it requires something be purchased. There's something about "Item or service is completely FREE to obtain, with zero shipping cost and no strings attached" that just seems to bamboozle so many…

IMO, Telstra & Google lie at opposite ends
        of the Ethical Spectrum:

. Evil <======> No (or far less) Evil

Only -Google- knows how to work "smart" for its Profits, IMO.

    • This deal is about Google Chromecast, from a certain point of view at least. :)

  • You know the current version of the Mac app for Foxtel Go has a bug that doesn't let you watch TV unless you use a workaround created by some users on the Foxtel forums.

What a bunch of (profanity) (Foxtel, not the users who created the workaround).

    • i remember when foxtel go first came out it wouldnt work on x64 windows

      • Thanks. Fixed now.

  • Bro,

  • guys, do you know if miracast is faster than dlna? im talking about when im "sending" my photos from android to my tv, using dlna there are few seconds lag each photo

    • Dunno… but that increased network traffic could affect N/W performance, eventually…

  • how do i find what all possible the streaming services are on Chromecast?
