  • Anyone know where i can get the higher range philips version for a decent price? (Rrp $400)

    • got the Philips XL @ TGG for $300, but that's basically cost price after rebates.

      • How?

        • Manager swiped his card and said that's absolute lowest cost he can do (TGG and HN both give different staff levels different swipe access to different pricing, and managers price is best as he has more authority).

Hot air technology! Abbott, take note.

      He invented it!

      • Pfft … invisible gas ? he is not concerned

    This is not a bargain.

    • Care to show us where it's cheaper?

      • -1

Just because it can't be found cheaper doesn't qualify this as a bargain. There's a myriad of generic air fryers for around the hundred dollar mark. Personally I'd rather pay an extra sixty bucks to get the real deal.

      • too bad if you choose to ignore all the cheaper air fryers out there… they all do mostly the same thing.

Heck I went straight for the excellent Phillips XL and that cost me $399, makes these little one look like a toy.

          Whatever floats your boat.

  • the avancer one is $89 with free shipping but ships in august

    • yea, but then it's a different branded product. I can find non branded one in Asia for less than $70 easy.

    • This looks like it's the exact same thing but a newer model.

      • what's the difference of this newer model?

  • Anyone got it yet? why the bowl is mesh? is there a solid one?
Kogan one shows the meshed one as well…….

    • Because the whole idea is as much air circulation as possible, if there was a solid bowl that went in there would be sides of chips that hadn't been cooked properly.
So just like a deep frying (but the circulated hot air being used in place of hot oil) items go in, for example chips.
There's as much surface area as possible to cook, about half way you take them out and give them a shake (I'm sure most people will have seen Maccas workers giving chips a flip, just like that). The put them in, they should be cooked as evenly as possible but if they were in a solid bowl then they wouldn't have had nearly as good airflow or contact meaning they wouldn't have been cooked evenly all over just for above like in an oven.

      • yeah for chips is a good idea, what if it's the pre marinated chicken? you do not want it to drip sideways? or maybe it's ok to drip sideways…….
will go and have a look at target, hopefully they have stock.

The phillips one claim they are better as the "swriling" under bowl promotes oil in air circulation, when cheap one is only round/ flat…… which is not as good as phillips……

makes me wonder should I pay 100 dollars more for a phillips…..

  • went to target have a look. compare it side by side with phillips…..
spend 60 dollars more to get the real deal……..

  • I bought one at Taget today for $129. Am cooking wings now, will post the results!

    • Great! Please share your after use opinion.

  • got the phillips, it's fantastic. tested on sausages, fries, chickens, salmon (stick on as i didn't spray oil, otherwise it's good)

    • cool, good to know. cheers

  • Does it work OK?
