Guys, please beware- since it is a receivers sale and they import most of their own items, you are likely to not get any warranty of electrical items etc.
I remember the time I had to make a warranty claim on a portable DVD player. Was like pulling out teeth.
I used to work for one of the stores and this was certainly not the case then. You could have brought the thing back working and got a refund. I was tasked with testing everything weeks later.
My guess is you probably had no receipt and was trying to get a cash refund
Nice assumptions but incorrect. I had a receipt. Within 12 months. Was tested by 2 staff members over 3 minutes (no audio on playback).
All I was initially offered was store credit. I wanted a working DVD player, so I requested either a repair or replacement which was refused. I even suggested a giftcard but refused (store credit had to be used then and there) Becuase the player in store was $20-$30 more now they didn't want to replace like for like. Ended up with a full refund after about 45 minutes.
Won't be missed…
in saying that feel sorry for the employees.
you only have to see the look in their eyes to feel sorry for them anytime. Checkout chick at a clearance crap store = life is unfun.
They won't be the last store/company.

I have only been inside once in the last 7 years. Will not be missing them.
I purchased a convection oven in DEC2013. I took it back 3 weeks later. It kept shorting.
I had the receipt and all packaging, but it took a few minutes to exchange it for something different.
I have since purchased 1 from Kmart.
It's a shame to see them go. Go-Lo was always good for a look.
Only some is 50% off - mainly the crap. Appliances are reduced 30%. But shelves at the one I visited were mainly bare, closing down signs, & if you looked at the shelves too long they tried to sell those too. A waste of time.
More like closing down sale.
