Do they deliver after business hours? And does the truck have light and easy written on it? Thanks

    • +1

      You have nice neighbours!… Not!

    • Not usually but the deliveries are made in plain white foam eskies and kept cold with Dry Ice which is still very cold at 8-9pm in the evenings. Just choose a place at your home that is out of the direct sunlight (and prying neighbours) for your delivery - Enjoy the food - its YUM!

  • Anyone tried their food? Are they tasty?

    • +2

Love the food - been getting it on and off for the last 12 years. Not the cheapest, but when you live alone, saves on shopping, cooking and product wastage. I mean, there is only so much of a whole Cauliflower that a single guy can eat before it goes off. :)

Breakfast and lunches are generally good, some dinner dishes are hit and miss. I was surprised just how good their food is. Not as good as a well made freshly cooked meal, but a lot less mess and still good.

      • Can you recommend any diners in particular that are good and which ones to avoid? Cheers.

        • You'd think I'd remember, but I can't really though Chicken Enchilada was delicious. I remember thinking the rice wasn't nice reheated, maybe that can be fixed by adding a tiny amount of water, not sure.

Hmmm, wait I remember the Crumbed Fish being better than expected. I though reheated fish would be disgusting, it wasn't, I liked it. I wasn't that keen on the roasts, I'm not saying they are bad, just that reheated potato isn't great.

Stay away from the steaks. You are putting a pre-cook/seared steak into the microwave to reheat for 8mins and the texture is disgusting!

        • @Niwlat: i think i just threw up in my mouth….

Great deal, if you've got a big freezer you could order a bunch of dinners at 15% off. Have them around for those days you can't be bothered to cook. Though it make it $8.25 per meal at ordering 28 frozen dinners.

  • Thanks OP, ordered 10 dinners. Website is really painful to use hope the food is good.

    • Wow lite and easy really needs to work out there website. I looked at the full menu plan then decided against it and got 10 dinners. It seems as if the full menu plan order went through but not the 10 dinners, I rang up and cancelled everything.. I'll have another look later if they made the website a bit more friendly.

this stuff is ridiculously expensive (over $10 for a dinner). it's not healthy, home-style or chef cooked or whatever b.s. they are trying to con people with. they're just as unhealthy as frozen microwave dinners you can get at the supermarket (who will deliver too), except they cost more than twice as much.

Homestyle Macaroni Bake (Calories = 465)
Ingredients: Water, Pasta (29%), Tomato, Parmesan, Evaporated Milk, Cheese, Milk Powder, Onion, Modified Starch (1442), Breadcrumbs, Salt, Almonds, Dijon Mustard, Yeast Extract, Onion Extract, Herbs, Pepper

      What makes them so unhealthy?

Compared to other microwave meals, I find these taste better. Their sugar and sodium levels don't seem excessively high which is often a complaint of microwave meals being too unhealthy.

Also with their 15% off their 1800 calorie 7 Day - Breakfast, lunch and dinner it costs $142.80 including delivery. I find it very filling and has a variety of food. Sure cooking everything fresh and using organic ingredients are better, but it is far from terrible. In the past I was pretty much eating take away food once a day, sometimes twice. I then used Lite n' Easy and stopped eating fast food. Now I make my own dinners, but I'm currently at 79 kilos, though at one point I was 89 kilos.

        • You replied to everyone who disliked the product without raising any of the negatives. Seems pretty one way to me, do you feel the need one-up anyone who raises as reasonable point.

        • @Davo93:

'You replied to everyone who disliked the product' You mean that one person, devilbabies? I replied to devilbabies with a question? devilbabies stated it was unhealthy, I genuinely wanted to know why.

There was autrefois made a negative point regarding their customer service, I didn't respond as I have no real experience on it, let alone one up. Also niwlat stated they don't recommend the Steak, which is a matter opinion and a good one.

If you also looked I stated I didn't like the reheated rice and potato, I also stated they are "Not as good as a well made freshly cooked meal" and "some dinner dishes are hit and miss".

So as you can see, not only are you quick to insult you are a liar too.

I think we should end this here. Yes I like Lite n' Easy, no they are not the best food out there. I think they a convenient and most dishes taste good, not great, some bad, but mostly good.

"Also with their 15% off their 1800 calorie 7 Day - Breakfast, lunch and dinner it costs $142.80 including delivery"

Which is an absolute rip off really for an individual.
I went through a "Lite'N'Easy" phase for about 2/3 months a number of years ago with the wife. Convenience is all it offers. Portions are barely ok, but the taste of everything is pretty crap. I remember eating it thinking "FFS, $20 for 2 microwave dinner meals?"

Only good for really stupidly busy people who have absolutely no time to cook, have no palate or enjoyment of food, or for ridiculously lazy people.

        • Easy way to shut someone down by playing the arsehole card. Maybe you should sign up with FIFA.

        • @Davo93:

If you notice, I only insult those who throw insults first. I've never liked bullies.

I only joined OzBargain to say this: Lite&Easy has horrible customer service and terrible delivery protocol. Numerous L&E packages were stolen from my building, not just from me but other residents. L&E uses a third party service that delivers at all hours of the night - ours arrived at 2am so we didn't get a phone call, and we dont have a concierge so it gets left in a hidden area between the buildings where the mailboxes are (not visible from the street). Turns out, someone was following the truck (big surprise, they do the same route every week and someone picked up on this) and our delivery was stolen - 5 mins after it was delivered. Customer service woman told me "you should be so lucky that we actually refunded you because we normally never do". I had to file a police report, submit video footage and everything just to prove it was legit to get a refund. Major pain in the ass.

L&E refused to redeliver the same order at a specified time so I could pick it up, since I had feared that this would happen again. They only do that with business addresses apparently. Dont know why they dont use the same pick-a-time system like coles/woolies does.

    Anyways, they lost my business.

In true ozbargainer style, I purchased the 1800 cal program so I can eat the extra snacks another time. I am ashamed to admit that I occasionally use LnE but I think the food is good. Yes, it is expensive but for someone like me who has no willpower for dieting, it works for me. I think of their service as I kickstart for my weightloss but I should probably use them permanently as I am still fat :)

As I cook for the rest of the family I never get a break from cooking but LnE would be ideal for singles/couples. Once my kids move out in 20 years or so I would probably use them regularly.

The food gets delivered in the morning but there is enough dried ice to keep it cold all day. There always seems to be at least one item missing for me but that equals less calories so kind of a win anyway.

My favourite dinner is the fisherman's basket and I also enjoy the curries.

  • anyone able to comment on the differences (or lack of) between the "Lite Meals", the "Meal in a Bowl" and "Mini Meals".
All are similar in price ($5 vs $5.50 vs $6.50)
    As far as I can tell, the mini meals are the biggest (300-350g serves, 1300-1500kj (ish);
with the "meal in a bowl" and "lite meals" being similar to eachother 250-300g serves, 1000kj (ish).

Don't need to lose weight, just looking to combat my chronic laziness towards lunch and get bang for my buck.

      Hi,

I love lite n easy. Definitely get the bigger serve "Mini Meals", basically the same thing as the others but more food.

Me and my partner only buy the dinners, end up eating 2 or 3 each a week for the nights when we don't want to cook.

For those who think these meals are anything like the frozen dinners at supermarkets- they are not! We couldn't go near those.

Lite n Easy dinners overall are great - favourites are Rigatoni, Lamb Shanks, Butter Chicken and Spaghetti Bolognese. We pretty much like all but the seafood dishes.

Try and get the ones that are over 400g for a more satisfying serve!

Thanks for this code :) I'm going to give them a go - been curious to try them for a while but the price was so high. I guess the 15% was enough to encourage me :)
I'm not so much doing it for weight loss, (though that will be a benefit) I'm more doing it for regular eating habits and serving size … should be interesting :) Cheers!

For those in Melbourne check out www.katrinaskitchen.com.au they are offering 10 meals for $75…

It's a small business but it's been around for years and the food is pretty alright!

I reckon if you bought more than 10 they would discount further and deliver around Melbourne but that special doesn't apply.
