  • Anyone know if the LG 50PB560B Plasma is any good at this price? I could only find limited info online

  • Can this credit only be used online?

most probably, why do you ask?

Why does anyone ask a question?

Wished it was cashback not store credit. Also it's a bit misleading to write cash back twice on the homepage only to have the T&C state that it's a store credit.

    • TGG are a little bit dodgy. Manager tried to deny me the price guarantee on a recent deal. After a bit of pushing though I got it.

  • @dy4me

Because I want to buy a tv(click and collect) for $1000, then get the store credit and go in store(where I can haggle the price) to buy a new vacuum cleaner.

Edit: Just read the T&C, seems to me like you can redeem in store. It doesn't say you can't anyway.

    • The Store Credit is: Redeemable for merchandise or services at participating The Good Guys stores only;

      From T&Cs

      • online is also a good guys store. the Good guys online Store. :D or there is always click and collect.

    • @fatpizza Just keep in mind you wont get the $200 right away. they will email the voucher to you by Aug 15. The last time GG had a similar cashback you could use the credit both online and instore.

Yeah, I saw that. I can borrow my sisters's vacuum cleaner until then. :P

        • She might borrow your voucher…Permanently :p

  • I just purchased a Reverse Cycle Split System from them on Saturday (well over $1K). I'm guessing I should be able to use their price match policy against themselves on this one?

    • maybe not.. given it's a cashback.. their price is still the same.. worth a try though!

    • I would think you have a good case to ask for the $200 store credit they are now offering, given it's only been 2 days since your purchase. Would be pretty low of them not to!

      • The system is pre-set, no way to get store credit if your invoice not in sale period.
But a good guys can do is "cancel" and invoice again, then you will have your bonus.

    • Funny how they argued with me last time that the price match is not with their own shop! but then I got the difference at the end. If you haven't opend the item, I want to return will be a good start…

      Good Luck!

The came through for me … gave me a store credit for the amount I was out of pocket. That's the 3rd time they've made up the difference on items I've purchased. I'm guessing they've refunded me $500 in total now.

  • Assuming you have a $200 store credit.
Do you have to mention it when making a deal on a subsequent purchase.
Or can you just surprise them at the end with a "hahaha - look at my credit…."

i.e. assume you have negotiated a deal on a new "back hair removal tool". Lets assume that is $350 RRP. But you negotiate a good deal with some good guys, and then you end up being offered the wonderful tool for $200. Can I then say, "hahahaha - look at my credit" and get it for free?

If the answer is no, not only will you get a neg from me, but I will be really upset.

    • Have credit or not has nothing to do with bargaining, store credit just money which you cannot withdraw, you think too much about it. I did use good guys store credits couple times, nothing different with real money.

      • Well have been burnt in past, not from good guys though, buts its important to ask these questions in a public forum.
Why you neggeg me, has got me beat. I am only trying to clarify what any ozb might ask.

If you read others posts you will find that having credit or not does result in bargaining power.

        CREDIT != CASH

        • I think we're all a little more concerned about you purchasing a "black hair removal tool"….

        • -1

Why would you feel the need to go "hahaha I have credit"? How you pay has no effect on the salesman, it's not like it's coming out of his pocket. Treat it like cash, just don't be a d**k about it!

  • thought of getting 2x ps4s and couple of games…

but they removed almost what i need on their online!

  • TGG sucks i wouldnt go there unless the 50% off happen again

  • this morning I juz had a good deal with TGG at Nunawading, I bought off Sony 50" 3D LED TV at $1148 instead of $1489. Online shop sells at $1298 and he initially offered me $1248 and I counteroffered that I rather deal with the sales guy in store and forget about the $200 store credit and I would take $100 off $1248 and he made a deal with his boss. I reckon store credit is crap, rather go to store and take further cash discount which sounds better to me.

    • Nice deal.
As long as you don't plan on buying anything else in the bear future, then yes direct cash discount is better than $200 credit in a few weeks time.
