  • Wish someone made one with a torch in it, wouldn't that be handy for the car.

    • +2

Batteries dont live too long in a hot/cold car over the year.
Better to get a decent quality cig lighter usb adapter.

      Use your phone light….

i have a few with torches,
you can roll your own with these too: http://www.fasttech.com/category/0/search/MTc3PU1vYmlsZV5Qb3… + batteries from other deal

    • This one has an LED torch: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/143641

Great product, if only I had a use scenario. Right now it is a very stylish $35 paperweight with torch :-)

    • +1

Wish someone made one with a torch in it

I'd prefer a torch with a power bank built in it…

  • So go the Xiaomi?
    Does it charge the N7?

  • These are fakes. But good fakes and apart from the missing LED light, they look, feel and perform as well as the original. IMHO.

Since having bought a number of power banks in the high capacity range, I have come to the conclusion they are best for long periods (think days) away from a power source, backpacking or wilderness trips where you want to use maps or GPS, camera etc.
If you are only day tripping and have access to power over night, I think a smaller 2-3000mAH pack would be more suitable. These things aren't exactly light.

    • +1

I think last time we figured out that they are not fake, rather that Romoss has two tiers of product: one with generic cells and one with brand name cells?

      • -1

yes im so surprise so many people still think this romoss is fake that one is not.
just go to their official webpages, they do sell many types under generic cells and samsung cells

    • can anyone recommend me a quality 2-3000mAh powerbank?

i've so far binned two crappy ones that i've purchases off eBay…absolute pieces of junk.

      • The small ones usually only put out 1000mA, so your phone will charge a little bit slower than the larger power banks.

I have this one, it works really well. It uses a 2600mAh Samsung cell. Definitely genuine if you buy it from Scorptec. They have larger sizes too.

Can anyone confirm xiaomi on Fasttech site is Genuine. Would like to get one for my dad . Afraid that he would not able to establish between fake and genuine.

    • +4

Fasttech generally has a good reputation on ozbargain and whirlpool. Apparently while they do have copies of branded products on sale they also have items which are specifically mentioned as "Authentic" and most comments on the net say those are very unlikely to be fake.

      • Thanks for the info.

      • +1

Fasttech generally has a good reputation on ozbargain

What do you base that on ?

There have only been 6 deals for fasttech and only one of those was for batteries…

        • +1

Beyond specific deals. Positive general experience as mentioned in comments.

Going back a year or two, I think that I may have been the first to reference Fasttech as a reputable outfit, based on my experience with them, anyway. In any case, quite a few other people since then.

Maybe worth mentioning hkequipment.net as another reputable outfit that I've had some dealings with.

Any OzBargainers who actually have the time to seek out and do some specific price comparisons, will maybe find some keen deals there too, on occasion.

        • Awesome I just made a purchase with them, the website is well designed, got my trust for them =) thanks for all the opinions

          You're just generalizing…

        • @jv:
Yes, but just generally, not specifically…

  • +1 for the product. For those who can wait, I think Meritline brings the price down to $26 every now and then. Bought one from a previous sale. Went for a tropical island holiday and used it to continuously charge a Galaxy S4 amd iphone 5 from morning till evening and we only used 50% of the battery's capacity. According to some of the pictorial guides posted by some of the other Ozbargainers, mine's a fake (as it didn't come with a velvet pouch) but so far the mAh rating seems to be pretty accurate (10,400). Knowing my luck, I am not going to jinx myself and comment on how long this will last though, Haha..

    • +1

brings the price down to $26

      it's $26 USD

    • +1

You still can get cheaper by using code MLCSUMMER10 instead of above code not much but further discount of 90 UScents.

      • +2

Any further discount is still a discount :)

  • +2

Are you allowed to take these things on international flights to keep devices charged?

    • ofcourse, why not?

      • -4

"Why not?" Did you seriously just provide advice with no knowledge of the subject?

Lithium batteries are restricted in air.

Lithium batteries are restricted in air.

yeah, you are restricted to 20 or less batteries as carry-on…

  • I assume it would be possible but just wondering if anyone has tried to charge Bose QC20i headphones with a powerpack. It has a micro usb port to charge so I think it would be okay but would love confirmation from someone who has tried it.

    • +1

If it can charge an ipad / etc, then should be fine. Its the amps that can cause issues or using weird pins (test on a generic USB charger)

  • +1

what the difference between the one posted and this http://www.meritline.com/romoss-10400mah-external-battery-pa…
the only difference i see is one is posted from china and one is posted from the US and the price

  • -1

interested on the http://www.fasttech.com/ 5200mah new xiaomi.
please anyone confirm its real? price is ok compare with ebay

So, is this Romoss charger any good or not????

Every time chargers are advertised, there is endless discussion here on OzB that just goes round and round in circles.

I want to buy a charger, but not one single person ever gives a definitive answer, that gives me the confidence to go ahead and buy one. We do not appear to have had a single discussion here that has achieved anything worthwhile.

Yes, all this is subjective, but most of us just want to know if the bloody thing works.

What about all the people who have already bought them from previous deals. Do they work properly? Are you happy with the purchase?

    • -1

yes all are happy. except some who think they got fake one but actually not.

again, check romoss website youll see they have 2 main products group one with china cells one with samsung.
each group consist of unique mah so for example you see 6800mah romoss, this is tell you straight away, original romoss but with china cell.
same with 10400mah i think (cant remember).
obviously, samsung cell is better but bit more expensive.

just order one, when it arrive i bet you will be amazed on its quality. from boxes, wrapping, etc, all are good.

    • Just to confuse the situation even more - some people on here who have received the counterfeits are still happy with their purchase. So you can't even tell if a certain supplier is selling fakes or not, even if people report back.

  • Looking at the size the Xiaomi seams to be smaller than this

  • got a sense 4 from ebay local and a Xiaomi from Bangood last deal, The Xiaomi was opened and checked which is genuine and much faster charging if compare to Sense 4.

  • Can't comment on the autheticity but I brought one of these on a previous deal and mine has worked worked very well. I am more than happy with it's performance, pretty surprising how many charges/top ups I get from it and it holds its charge well - sometimes I don't get around to using it for a few weeks and I can't notice any loss in that time. Does take a while to charge but I normally just leave it to do it's thing overnight. Think i'll buy another actually.
