The picture seems to show a US power plug.

Would we need an adapter for it or is the picture wrong.

    • picture wrong - typical dick :(

the plug itself is a changeable/removable one for australia :)

  • I thought they were $40-$50rrp last time i was about to buy at 40% off DSE

    • yes, noticed they were $19.98 last friday but too late to post as deal, though only today did webpage add

      SAVE $3.09
Online Exclusive Offer Offer ends 07-Aug-14

which if true would then mean a significant reduction and great new low everyday price :)

  • Dual 2.1A Port

So is each port 2.1A ? Or is that the total for both ?

    • each port - a 15 second google search would yield the answer ;)

      • -3

        a 15 second google search

It would be useful to put that in the description so people without internet access can know this…

what are people with no internet access doing on ozbargain?

        • +2

          @xanctum:

You don't need the interwebs for OzBargain. I get all my details from the print version.

        • @jlogic:

          are you even an Ozbargainer?

        • @jasecs: All real OzBargainers get the print version delivered via carrier pigeon or wirelessly through the orbital mind control lasers.

        • @xanctum:
Using neighbours' WIFI to access OzB :)

"Low-profile design takes up just one wall outlet"

The thing looks wide enough to block adjacent spaces on a powerboard.

    • +1

some reviews on Amazon seem to suggest this.

2 of these won't fit side-by-side but a normal plug or slimline adapter can be next to it :)

    • It does, but if it's the same one I have, it's high enough to sit next to a low profile plug like the ones from a MagSafe adapter power cable so they won't touch - even tho it looks like both plugs are "overlapping".

  • can anyone comment on if this actually outputs 2.1A (or close) to android devices? or specifically the nexus 5? many usb chargers state up to 2.1A but depending on the device this can vary a lot (eg some devices go in to usb charging mode not AC, charging only at 300-500mA).

  • On the other charger listed in the post "usual $12-delivered single-2.1A alternative: http://www.gadgetsboutique.com.au/usb-ac-charger-for-iphone-…

Anyone had experience with that charger? I've been burnt paying around $10+ for a charger that doesn't last longer than half a year a few times already.

  • the jackson ones are good. Used one for ages, charges iPad, Asus 10inch, Samsung S4, Sony Z, Iphones, all fine and two at a time , nice and fast Plus has a through connector for 240v so you dont waste a power point. http://www.dicksmith.com.au/new-products/jackson-2-outlet-3-…

    • Note the 3.1A model looks practically the same as the earlier PT1USB, which tops out out at 1A total, so be careful not to mistake one for the other.

  • I'm reluctant to post the kensington car chargers with detachable lightning cable as people will talk about their $1 ones. I think they are a bargain at $15 because my cheap ones keep breaking.

  • Slightly off topic, but I purchased one of these to use at work and haven't had any issues with it. Not necessarily a bargain, but is an alternative…

  • $18.95 GET one of these orico 4 port ones. Best thing I've bought for charging my stuff love it http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ORICO-4-Port-AC-USB-Charger-for-p…

  • Ok price for a local product.

I use this (http://www.dx.com/p/ac-power-adapter-with-usb-4-port-hub-whi…) from DX. Very hand for traveling.
