Hungry Jacks Hackburger: BBQ Cheeseburger w/ ALL Extras (except Cheese and Bacon) ONLY $2

1691

So, I was talking to a friend about OzBargain - He works at Hungry Jacks - He knows a weakness in the Hungry Jacks system and was keen to share. Here it is:

Step 1 - Order BBQ Cheeseburger for $2.00 or Double BBQ Cheeseburger for $3.00 or Triple BBQ Cheeseburger for $4.00
Step 2 - IMPORTANT - Say 'Can I please add on Angry Onions or Onion Rings' (This comes up on the till as 'NO CHARGE' and then the operator is unable to add any extra charge to your burger from here on in)
Step 3 - Say 'Can I also add Lettuce, Pickles, Tomato, Beetroot and Onion and these will all be added to your burger FOR FREE!
Step 4 - Operator will put the MAMMOTH burger into a bag
Step 5 - Lunch sorted.

Bargain explained - BBQ Cheeseburger is the best value burger on the HJ's menu in my mate's opinion. This works with ALL burgers.

Enjoy!

PS - It might be possible to combine this deal with the https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/154540 deal in SA - this would be a $1 Cheeseburger with ALL extras!

Nah, it'd take too long. ;)

Are you saying she's ugly Stinge?!?

        Don't be so sure!

    • If you add 1 or 2 extra salad items they'd think that it's normal. If it's more than 2 then they might call you names.

I ordered my Twosdays whoppers today from Glen Osmond HJs with free angry onions.

How have I not known about this before.

    My life is now complete.

I will be trying this with the $1 cheeseburgers at lunch tomorrow in City Cross HJs.

    Thank you OP!

  • I am a bit confused here. So how much is the Angry Onions or Onion Rings?

  • Tested this method tonight at two different HJ's in Perth. Works no problem! Great..why didn't I think of this before! Two x $2 BBQ cheeseburgers with lettuce, onions, tomato, beetroot for $4. Awesome.

  • Hungry jacks really dont care… if you ask for anything they will give it to you. A friend who used to work there said they give free burgers to emergency services, even if in plain clothes. And she also said just say I want 2 so and so burgers, but im only paying for 1. I tried it after a night out years ago and it worked, they didnt blink.

Theoretically you could walk in and say your an ambo and eat for free.

    • what if someone has a heart attack while your in there

Anything can be done theoretically lol

      • Theoretically you could put your fingers up in your coat pocket and say you have a gun. Then force them to make you whatever you'd like. But in practice THIS IS A BAD IDEA.

        • True. Though I've seen a deal unpublished with the comment "Theft is not a bargain" (no idea what it was for)

I just tried this at Hungry Jacks Belconnen and the manager interrupted the register person after she added the onion rings but before she could process the salads. She asked me why I "don't just order some other burger name I can't remember but was more expensive" I asked why is that and she stated how "the bbq cheeseburgers are already discounted/on sale" and something else that didn't seem like it had much weight to it in retrospect.

I was happy to just use the 2x Whoppers for ~$6.35 coupon and be done with it for now. Hungry Jacks needs to fix this up asap. Either they do it or they don't do it. They certainly could do it in this store and instead chose not to. The manager's point is stupid. So what if the BBQ cheeseburgers are on sale? I don't walk in and order a Whopper at regular price and then ask for free extras cause "its cheaper if you have a voucher". If they just had somewhere an easy access menu that states exactly what the extras are and the cost and what combinations are allowed, they could save themselves some awkward exchanges that are ultimately going to cost them more.

Thanks OP, great deal. Added tomato and lettuce to the $2 cheeseburger for the first time today. :)

  • I just tried this at Hungry Jacks Cabramatta's drive-through, I asked for the angry onions "inside", then I asked for lettuce, tomato, pickles and jalapenos, but before I could say "jalapenos" the girl interrupted me and said we can't do that, I asked back "why? I've ordered this before", she went silent, then she said "you're basically asking for a junior whopper", I replied again, "but I've ordered this before". Seeing how this was going nowhere, I reversed out and left. Is HJ at Cabramatta a franchise?

  • I havent been to Hungry Jacks for ages, I was wondering if the BBQ cheeseburger includes Mayonaise already? If not, is it considered "free" as an extra?

edit: nevermind, went to the Hungry Jacks website and saw they do include Mayonaise…..
