Website Revamp FAQ

Where's all your items gone? You're not going to sell stuff besides flash memory anymore?
Sadly, our old website was a bit of a mess, so we've decided to list things again from scratch, don't worry, we will be adding more products in the coming months, PC Byte is more than just flash memory :)

If I've created an account on the old website, do I have to create a new account?
No, we've imported all our customer accounts from the old website. You should not have any issues logging in. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you do.

But where's my past orders gone?
Sadly, we could not import the orders from the old website, but rest assured, they are safe with us. If you need a copy of a previous order, just drop us an e-mail at [email protected] with your order date and the last four digits of your order number.

I really wanted to buy item 'x' but it's no longer listed on your site!
Feel free to drop us an e-mail and we'll list it up for you. :)

We really appreciate your support with the sales we've previously run on OzBargain, please bear with us as we revamp our site! :)

Cards, if legit, look to be a great deal for the Lexar 64gb. What's the oz bargain verdict on PCbyte and the shipping times?

    • +2

+1 .. using the 64GB laxar from the last deal.. working well just ordered a second one.

      • +1

using one in my tablet, dunno about speed but the card works fine and is really 64GB….

  • +3

No comment on the prices but have always been a pleasure to deal with this company, they quite possibly responsible for my ever growing collection of micro SD cards.

Note - And in response to the above have used them multiple times, previously know as Memory City with a few older deals on Ozbargain.

Can we order online and pick up in store?
How long do we have to wait after placing the order online to pickup?

    • +1

Generally it's ready for pick-up within 24 hours but if you need express processing, just drop us an e-mail with your order number and we can have it ready within 1-2 hours.

      • +1

ok thanks was considering placing an order now and picking up after 4 on the way home. Also does this come with the card reader as the standard packaging does?

        • +1

Hello dy4me, the Bulk packaging does not come with the USB3.0 card reader (I think the reader alone is worth almost the price we're selling the MicroSD card for.)

        • @Roland Chen: That is true. Just thought id ask. :)

  • apologies in advance silly question here but will the
    Lexar 64GB MicroSDHC Class 10 600x 90MB/s (Bulk Packaging) for $37.95
FIT and be suitable for my Surface Pro 2?

    • +1

      Hello melmac77,

We don't have a Surface Pro 2 on hand to test but I don't have any reports of any problems with the Lexar and the Surface Pro 2. If you encounter any issues with the card and your Surface Pro 2, you can always give us a call and we'll see if we can sort it out for you.

      • Cool I accidentally brought the wrong size card previously(idget) so I'm a bit nervous about ending up with another card that won't fit in the itty bitty hole :)

        • +1

Only two types of common cards out there. Micro SD and "Normal" SD.. the later is normally for digital camera's and the Micro SD is for Smart phones and Tablets.

        • Hey Beaudilo,

I'll have to check with the team but it probably won't be this coming week. If you really need it in a hurry, drop me a PM with what model you are looking for and I'll see what I can do.

  • Hi Rep, will you have any deals for class 10 'normal size' SDHC cards?
    Cheers

    • Let me check :)

    • Hey Bluedez_man, is there any specific capacity you were looking for?

      • 32 GB?

        • I've brought the 32GB Sandisk Extreme SDHC card down to $32.95? Or were you looking for something less speedy but more economical?

        • @Roland Chen:
Ohh jibbed. I bought the exact same 32gb sad card from you on Tuesday for $39.95!!!!

        • @julz15: Sorry about that! :P

    • Many (most?) come with adapters, these days.

      • Yes, the Lexar 64GB 600x MicroSD does come with a MicroSD to SD adapter.

Is 64gb micro sd card work with samsung galaxy s5?

    • Should be no problem :)

  • I'm getting the following error when I try to check-out with Paypal. Any ideas? I doubt I've already paid so most likely being mixed up with another customer =P
"PayPal gateway has rejected request. Payment has already been made for this InvoiceID (#10412: Duplicate invoice)."

    • Hey Dbuiz, can you PM me your order details (name, amount, etc.)

    • +1

It should be fixed now, it's probably got to do with your revamp. Sorry about the inconvenience, please let me know if you run into this problem again?

Hiya. To add to other comments, I can recommend these guys as I have purchased from them both now and as MemoryCity (love Francesca!).

I have just ordered 2 x 64Gb Lexars for my FiiO X5 but I also need a reader/adapter for quicker transfer of my music files. Do you sell them separately? I can't find them on your new site.

    • +1

Oops, sorry about that, try now.

SanDisk Imagemate got missed as well, just bear with us for a bit.

      • OK. Cool. Thx. Whilst they are probably very good quality I won't worry at that price. Finalising order now. :-)

  • are these Lexars UHS-I models and suitable for GoPros?

    • Yes :) Should be no problem.

  • Is the scandisk imagemate on sale? I Seems to be cheaper elsewehere by about $10

    • Hey Frogger081, the SanDisk Imagemate is not currently on sale. I might be able to bring the price down a bit but I have to check with Francesca in the morning. Bug me around 9-10am tomorrow? :P

    Hi Store Rep,
Does Lexar 64GB MicroSDHC Class 10 600x 90MB/s (Bulk Packaging) include an adapter?

  • +1

I'm in need of a 32GB microSD card but the 32GB Sandisk microSD card in "bulk packaging" that I bought from MemoryCity has started playing up on my phone so am a bit worried now after getting the 64GB Lexar at the last PCByte sale. Anyone else experience similar issues with their "bulk packaging" microSD cards?

    • Hey Nimitzharrington,

Could you PM me / e-mail us ([email protected]) regarding what sort of issues you've been having? Sometimes MicroSD cards are fault but that also happens to cards in retail packaging, it's not exclusively a 'bulk' packaging problem.

  • HI REP,
Could you reply as a few asked about USB converter or card reader?

well I bought a few of these "Bulk Packaged" MicroSD cards and the problem is they are not as fast as they said, for example the class 10 up to 70MB/s only shows up to 12MB/s which is a normal class 10 nothing exciting like ultra, pro, extreme whatsoever!

I said maybe it is because the converter/readers I use are not made for these, or maybe these are not original?

    • Hey Pal,

Sorry, I've been away for most of the evening, just got back. Can you PM / e-mail us ([email protected]) about exactly what programs / adaptors / devices you are using and are reporting poor speeds.

Every few hundred units that go out we do get the odd one or two that report poor performance. It's typically due to a faulty card or some bottleneck in the set-up. Without knowing yours it's hard to tell.

    • Speed ratings can be very specific, that you'll possibly never get. Changes considerably between chipsets/cameras/readers etc. So many different factors. For its designed usage & price, the speeds are plenty-fast for anyone's realistic needs.

    • I forgot to say… You never wrote what software/hardware gave those results.

  • Have people been receiving order confirmations or invoices from PC Byte? all I've had so far is the notification from Paypal stating that I've sent the money

    • +1

      Hey melmac77,

We've been having some issues with the e-mail, some people are getting multiples, I'm not sure if anyone's getting none.

Also, sometimes of confirmations end up in the junk mail folder.

Do you want to PM me your name and what you ordered and I can confirm it's in the system?

      • Thanks Roland, PM sent

        • And replied :)

  • Have sent you a PM Roland about no invoice …thanks
Have also checked Junk folder nothing there

    • I've replied your PM. We have your order :)

  • +1

    All good thanks Roland :-)

  • Hi Roland

I received my card today and am less than impressed. I hope youre going to tell me some trick i'm unaware of. My Android tablet, phone, and PC are all reporting this 64gb card to be around 27.6 gb which is clearly not right. Speed isnt anything special either.

Please advise how you will rectify this

    • Hey Brisneylander,

Apologies for the late reply as I am currently overseas. Could you drop an e-mail to [email protected] and the rest of the team will take care of you. If you are unhappy with their response, you can drop me a PM to follow up. Just want to double check, the outside of the MicroSD card is marked as 64GB?

      Warm regards,
      Roland

  • Have you tried this?
    http://www.heise.de/download/h2testw.html
i have not received mine yet but i always use that software to check all usb - sd cards .At least it will tell you the correct capacity and speed

  • Got mine in the mail just now.. tested with h2testw and was perrrrfect and faast so all happy here.. 64gig lexar micro sd with adapter… ty Roland

  • +1

Thanks guys I thought I was able to delete the post, but apparently not.

I fiddled with the card in a few devices and it's all good. Full capacity and pretty fats.

    Thanks. Sorry for any confusion

    Thanks Rowland

    • All good mate :)
