Coca Cola 330ml cans sold in 30 packs for $13.99 - or 47 cents a can

So they are selling 12oz cans imported from the US (or another place where 12oz is sold rather than 375ml).
Maybe the flavour is better :)

Please dont buy them if they are the American variant.
High fructose corn syrup has essentially replaced sugar in mass produced American foods.
And it isnt the nicest ingredient http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-fructose_corn_syrup#Health…

Further to that think of the sales drop for the Australian manufacturing plants if costco starts selling imported coke.

I concur, having lived in America, generally the food quality is much poorer (also translates to sodas). Having said that it's drastically cheaper, you get what you pay for. I'm so glad I'm back living here as the quality in produce is much better (in my opinion at least).

  • HP Pavilion DV7-2112TX 17” notebook with 1TB harddrive $1999.99
    Good price for this laptop.

    Other prices are:

    $2295 from Computer World:
    http://www.cworld.com.au/product_info.php?ID=170330

    $2,599 from DSE:
    http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/4a894eb80a6bfa3…

So there's your "risk free" membership paid for- if you need a laptop :)

    • If this laptop is also imported from the US then you can have a look at the price on HP US website for this laptop and compare.

      • that doesn't really make sense as you can't do anything with the US price over here. You can't compare buying online from overseas (don't forget 10% GST) vs buying from a retail store locally. If you did, nothing in Australia would be a bargain. :)

WOW popular place for comment here.
Anyway, someone told me this "Each member pay $60. 1 million member Costco will be collecting $60 million. And this lump sum goes straight to USA, not for Australia".
Anyway, I won't be joining Costco because the distance is just too far and the membership card is not transferable for family members to use. Also, I don't like the idea that Costco may be monitoring how much condoms I bought (I'm sure they can get the info from my purchase, since the membership card records everything?). Yes it is the same for Rewards Card and Fly Buys, so I never apply them.

to be honest I don't find any thing cheap in that price list posted above.
    For example:
    - 1kg of strawberry $6.99
I've just bought a pack of 250g at Woolworths yesterday for $1.5, equivalent to $6 for 1kg + my friend got staff discount 5%, no stupid membership fee + don't have to buy 1kg and also cheaper price.

    • for the imported coke, 47c for 330ml so 54c for 375ml.
Last week, Woolworths got a sale for 55c for 375ml, you get Aussie stuff not imported stuff, cheaper price + no membership fee + fuel voucher 4c.

Seriously, I don't think this Costco can beat price of electronics stuff if you hunt for good deals on the internet. If you are just after groceries, I think Coles/Woolworths sale is even cheaper, and you don't have to buy in bulk.

Also if you are just after groceries and buy in bulk why not buy from Campbells Cash N Carry? They have a similar business model, i.e buy in bulk, free membership. I found that their price is quite cheap actually. No way I'm gonna pay $60 a year and have to buy my groceries in bulk for a comparable price to Aldi/Coles/Woolworth when they have the sale on.
