actually, I got mine last Friday.

      • MyLED emailed me few minutes ago and provided me with a Auspost tracking number. Funny that the tracking number shows it was delivered on 6th, though I have not received it! I'll inquire about this tomorrow at my local post office and will post here the details.

+vote for now to MyLED and the new fast shipping.

And here is a food for thought, wouldn't it be better if MyLED just sends the tracking number to the customer beforehand when they become available?

        • After complaining to Auspost yesterday, I have received the bulbs today. Turns out, MyLED postage team did not write the Unit number. So Auspost could not decide which Unit to post as there are more than 20 Units in my complex.

MyLED, please write the address in full in future shipments.

          All the best

    • Got mine Friday in Brisbane. I'm happy with them. Good that it has tracking for the price. Second delivery in week.

Received some small G4 spotlight bulbs in a small padded envelope yesterday - 5 days after shipping, 9 days after order! (Ordered July 28, shipped August 1, delivered August 6)

    Illegal import?

Does it carry the required compliance?

Otherwise it should not be imported. It should not be installed.

REP/OP are those "Certificate: CE & RoHS" genuine? Or did the maker just print them on the device/packaging?

What about the Safety Certification for supply/use in Australia?

      Illegal import?

      Should be.

Does it carry the required compliance?

nope, and in past threads as you know they DGAS about compliance.

Otherwise it should not be imported. It should not be installed.

      Agreed 100%

REP/OP are those "Certificate: CE & RoHS" genuine? Or did the maker just print them on the device/packaging?

If your house/family is/are fireproof you'll findout when you get home.

What about the Safety Certification for supply/use in Australia?

      $$$AUD/US$$$ = They DGAS.

I opened mine from the last deal

It is SCARY dangerous construction inside. No way in the worlds it would pass any national or international safety standards.

I work in the lighting industry, one of my primary roles in my day job is electrical safety compliance of LEDs

REP/OP are those "Certificate: CE & RoHS" genuine? Or did the maker just print them on the device/packaging?

CE and RoHS mean absolutely nothing. Just a couple of icons.

What about the Safety Certification for supply/use in Australia?

This is not a Declared/Prescribed Article. Certification is not required to sell into Australia.

However the IMPORTER is 100% responsible to ensure that the product is safe and complies with the relevant Safety Standards, and also with EMC (C-Tick) which this item would never pass in a hundred years.

Put another way - if one of us imports an item which electrocutes somebody, then the buck stops at the importer, not the overseas seller. That is why none of these Asian suppliers give a Rat's Buttocks about compliance.

        Please read what I wrote.

"What about the Safety Certification for supply/use in Australia?"

Note "in Australia" not "supply to". Obviously those outside Australua can do what they want. It is the importers - the buyers - that are held accountable.

    • No rep response.
    • Not the first time compliance has been questioned.
    • No ban on Myled selling potentially lethal electronics on Ozbargain.

Oh well, until next myled post i guess. See you there… If your not electrocuted first.

One wonders what it is going to take. If there is a death, injury, loss, etc. due to an uncertified device purchased via an OzBargain listing - could they (OzBargain) be included in any civil action for damages etc.?

These devices do not adhere to Australian Standards for electrical safety. Potentially lethal (electrocution or fire)
