FWIW, I grabbed the EA6500 last time it was offered & it's a real champ for the price, significant boost in range & signal strength from my old E3000.

These guys are great to deal with too, lightning fast shipping…literally under 24hrs from order to delivery every time I order from them! :D

  • I don't know if I'm just not looking hard enough, but I can't quite seem to see what the difference is between the EA6500 and EA6700 other than the latter having USB3.0. Care to enlighten me please OP?

    • +1

Well….You're right, its just the USB3.0 different. And EA6700 is current model.
      http://us.hardware.info/reviews/4636/2/linksys-ea6700-review…

      • Excellent thanks, in most tests the 6500 actually outperformed the 6700.

For some ungodly reason the 2.4ghz on my dual band netgear died literally last week so you have one happy customer right hurr.

      • Nice deals, and both support DD-WRT.

    • Be careful using USB3 on a wireless router, since plugging devices into a USB3 port can interfere with 2.4GHz signals.

  • Any cheap routers we can use ddwrt on? Want to get netflix/ chromecast going for family members.

  • I am still looking forward to the day they come out with USB 3.0 on the N54L. I'd be the first to grab one!

    • what would be the important use of usb3 on the microserver?

      • Backup to an external drive ;)

        • +2

I don't think they will have any USB3 version of the N54L, because they put it on the Microserver Gen8

        • use the esata?

N54L won't have a new revision with usb3. The new model is already out, called merely the "Gen8 microserver". It has usb3. and a range of CPU options (all Intel I think, compared to the N54L's AMD).

    • I put a 4 port card in the pcie slot - 2 on the back and 2 on a cable to the outside. Just need a 1/2 high one

  • Are these prices available for walk-in purchases at your store?

    • Pick up is available at our showroom in Lidcombe, from 9am-6pm Mon-Fri

  • Can free shipping available to a post office/parcel locker?

    • +1

You can use PO Box on Linksys and D-Link, but not the Micro server and the Buffalo NAS because they are too big..

      • Parcel lockers come big enough to handle an N54L box. The question is, are they sent Australia Post or by courier? because a courier can't deliver to a parcel locker, only Australia Post can.

        • Most courier can't ship to PO box

        • We normally will use courier.

  • Dear OP, do you have any good deals on 3/4TB drives to go with the MicroServer? Thanks.

    • +1

Depends on which model of Hard drive you after.
Currently our hard drive is not in the most competitive price…

  • After the let down of WD, I decided to get a server,

Thanks very much, looking forward to the N54L!

  • D-Link DNS-320L 2 Bay NAS performance reviews seem pretty average but $88 is pretty cheap.

    • What about for the purposes of simple backup and remote access to files?

Whilst the N54L would be nice I'd rather something I can just plug in and forget.

      • The WD deal that's getting a lot of negs is actually pretty good value for a nas that includes the drives. You're basically paying for 6 or 8 TB of drives, and the unit itself is thrown in. (The negs are because of a previous deal that the WD store handled terribly)

        • Thanks. I did try to buy the 6TB version but they canned my order. My other line of thinking is a cheap DLink unit and adding WD red drives for their reliability.

  • Hi Rep,

The N54L is showing as $259 for me.

    • -1

It could be because all sold.
I just found I have one more left, just put 1 more unit on special just now.

      • Might want to change the n54l to $229 $259 then, knew I shouldn't have waited til after work to purchase. Been seeing them for $229 a lot lately, I'll make sure to be quicker next time.

        • It states a 7 day deal.what gives?

  • Grrrr.. Just bought a metal-sided 1tb USB on Wednesday.

Wish you'd have the Rikiki on sale then.

  • Hey Rep.Great deals. Any chance on a deal on the HP Microserver gen 8?

    • Sorry our Gen 8 server is not getting in a special price…..cannot beat others pricing.

  • Does Linksys EA6700 support NBN? Can't find much info about it.

    • It support NBN

  • LaCie hard drive is free shipping but add Astone dock free shipping gone. Both are sale items. Discourage customers buying more :)

    • Because the shipping fee is calculate under each item.
Please email us if you want to combine shipping, we can see what we can do.

  • I assume the EA6500 is version 2?
    Awesome router for $120.
