    $299 for a 4S? Gees.

    • I think this can go cheaper when the new one arrives and the 4S is most probably shafted.

      • 4S won't get shafted when the 6 comes out. The 5S and the 5C will be shafted. That's why my local telstra shop are selling 5S and 5C cases with a big discount.

      • Yes, When Apple releases new iPhone (6/air/retina), it will retire 4s and 5c. 5s will get 4s' current price tag. New iPhone 4.7" will get bit more than 5c' current price and if rumor is true about flagship 5.5" sapphire version then it will be bit expensive.
        probably
        iPhone 5s - $529 (16gb)
        iPhone 6c - $739 (16gb)
        iPhone 6 - $899 (16gb)

    • I remember paying $600+ for a pre-owned Iphone 4 on ebay 3+ years ago, not much choice for a good smartphone then, think only Galaxy S2 is the real competitor, now there are just too many choices, including those from China, they are making better and better phones nowadays.

4s, too old. 8gb and 3.5" screen, too small. Kogan is good anyway.

there are apple stickers you can then stick on the back and call it a iphone 6 … no one would even know!

  • sorry op if I can not put this comment here
I just update the deal for ipad mini retina @living social

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/158164

now extra 15% off. if op or anyone interested.
    thanks

  • If it was the 5c, people might have been interested but this phone is just real old tech now. It will be updated to IOS8 later in the year but will probably have trouble running it. I suggest wait about a month for some decent deals on the 5c or 5s when the 6 has been announced.

    • That's what Apple does. Updates its software till their old phones don't run or don't get updated.
Then you have no choice, but to by the latest and greatest.

For those considering this, 4s is pretty woeful even on iOS7. Multitasking is virtually gone, even apps that just run along in the background don't work any more.

    • Although I would never consider buying this now, there's nothing wrong with it apart from being old tech! I've given mine to my son to play with and never had an issue with any apps on iOS7. And I'm still putting newly developed apps on there for him.

    • I use a 4S as a spare, it has apps galore on it and it runs fine

Expensive for a kids toy! Well that's where my old 4s is… with my 2yo!

  • You're much better off paying ~$100 more for a Oneplus One or i9506.

  • Good price for new phone, I sold my second hand one for $299 a few weeks ago!

  • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/158551 seems to be a better deal for a two years later model!

  • I think I'd rather the nokia 630 deal over this. There's probably so many better alternatives for less than this. $300 is almost enough to buy current gen hardware.

    what's wrong with kogan?

The only downside is paying $299 for an iphone 4s if you ask me..

    • +1

Clearly you've never waited the 6-8+ weeks for something that's supposedly sitting on their shelf ready to go, ordered and paid for an item only to have them tell you weeks later that they don't have the stock and wait another 2-4 weeks for a refund, or have ordered a name brand product under the assumption that you are indeed ordering an original/genuine product only to find it's a cheap knock off!

      what's wrong with kogan?

      HA!!!

  • How long will it take to arrive need for a birthday present

  • Even at $299 the iPhone 4s is overpriced compared to the competition.
