        • +4

          prediction for 2024 MBP,

0.005nm MBP chip implanted in the cerebral cortex
unlimited cpu bandwidth utilizing basal ganglia neurons
unlimited bio-QDR7 ram bandwidth utilizing multi-neural medulla pathways

        • @easternculture: yeah, TBH going down the cyborg upgrade path is not my first choice, software upgrades, OS patches/fixes, having computer viruses/trojans etc floating around in my head together with real viruses etc does not sound appealing!

        • @morpheu:
Yeah, wouldnt like to reformat my brain every couple of months. What if I forgot to make a backup of my 'personality' and 'memories' folder, what then?!

how are you getting this price? It's 14% off which is $2,579.14… can you attach a link not a screenshot

    • Must help the OP - From 12:00 till about 12:15 the pricing at the DS website was wrong and 20% discount has been shown and applied. I have called to DS with regards to my order and was assured that the order will be fulfilled. After 12:15 the pricing was correct at 14% discount.

How did you get that price. Isn't it 14% off? I get it listed as $2,579.14.

    • For a short period of time a 20% discount has been applied to the Apple products.

  • +1

how did you get the price $2399 it only shows $2579 for me

  • -1

$2579, not $2399… How did you get the price?

  • +1

it must of been a pricing error as I got it at that price too, but just after I paid went back and had a look at the page again and it was at the $2579

When $2579 is not a bad price for a laptop with those specs then you know you are being gouged.
You could buy 2 top of the line gaming PCs for that price.

    • +1

Yeah but gaming PCs weigh a little more than 2kg. That's what you're paying for.

    • +2

go and buy your 2 top of the line gaming PC's… and i would love to see you carry them around. Also, whats the battery life on those 2 machines? Or does it require a really really long power cord?

      • Fine you could buy 1 top of the line gaming PC and a fantastic laptop and have money to spare for that price. Better?
Btw, have fun getting ripped off.

    • +3

If you buy a MacBook to primarily play games, you gonna have a bad time.

    • -1

Also, OS X. Last I heard only Apple makes computers that have 100% compatibility.
Obviously buying a Mac for gaming is a no-no.

    • playing older pc games under bootcamp is doable but you would have to consider yourself a 'casual' gamer at best, as usual when it comes to Apple Vs Pc it's 'horses for courses'

  • The picture is showing an older style MacBook Pro and at 13' inch.
Also, I'm guessing if it is the mid-20104 model is it the one with discrete graphics or iris pro only?

  • Urrr? Why does the Apple store show this as $2499?

    • US Store?

Yep. Ignore. I was wondering why they were so much cheaper! Thought Apple came to their senses.
