  • anyone ordered from this site before?

    • +6

Yes, plenty of people here have. Nothing to worry about.

      • Nothing to worry about.

Not quite the case, but they're reliable

    • Yep, blu-rays ship quicker than clothing. Usually takes about 2 weeks. Clothing can take up to a month.

Edit: They are part of The Hut Group

      They're great.

TOY story trilogy 13.99 pounds = around $25aud..

Awesome price for the extended trilogy! +1

  • Are the included DVDs the same region as ours though.. That is the question.

    • DVDs aren't, they are region 2.
Just get a region free dvd player…

      • Many blu ray players are region-free for DVD's nowadays. And those which are not can often be hacked quite easily, e.g. Samsungs.

        • The DVDs cause a problem if you use your PS3/PS4 as your blu ray player however.

      • But i don't want to buy a DVD player =(

  • Bought this set from amazon last year for £29

      this works. thanks.

  • Does that 19.99 for LOTR include VAT? The price on Amazon does so when you get to checkout the price reduces.

    • INCLUDES!

      I ordered..

      19.99 + 0.99 shipping = 20.98 pounds

So no hidden fees or sth..

      • Actually if the price stays the same it means it doesn't inclue VAT. :)

        • Or they just charge the VAT to everyone and pocket the difference for international orders.

    • VAT is not payable on overseas orders so they keep the difference, as does Amazon UK.

      • Amazon UK used to remove the VAT at checkout, but doesn't seem to anymore…

        Edit: User error. See comment

        • Really? Must be a while since I last ordered anything but they always used to.

        • Not correct.
Amazon UK still removes the VAT at checkout. I ordered this exact set from them last week. The site lists a price at about 25.00, but at checkout the price was about 20.

        • @fatpizza: I just tried today. Here's as far as I get without hitting the final 'Pay' button. Delivery address set to my AU address.

          Items: GBP 24.99
          Postage & Packing: GBP 3.58
          Total before VAT: GBP 28.57
          VAT: GBP 0.00
          Order Total: GBP 28.57

Edit: This is for LOTR trilogy extended blu-ray - listing price is £24.99.

        • @moocher:

VAT is not being removed on that item as it is not directly sold by Amazon.

On the one sold by Amazon VAT is definitely removed:
          Items £21.01
          Estimated Postage & Packaging £3.58
          Total before VAT £24.59
          VAT £0.00
          Estimated Order Total £24.59

        • @Vieira4: Ah that explains it! Thanks.

  • “All's well that ends better.”

  • A fantastic price for the extended edition bluray of Lord of the Rings. I watch it about once a year, and am still blown away by the trilogy.

  • +1

Extended LOTR is fantastic and anyone who hasnt seen it should watch it. Much better than the cine cut (which I think took a lot of the lighter shades out of the film)

    • +2

Ever since watching the extended edition , I can't watch the theatrical releases anymore.

  • How is the quality of the transfer? I heard there were issues with the transfer and some of the colours were washed out etc.

    • For LOTR? Have owned the trilogy extended edition blu-ray for quite a few years, haven't noticed anything wrong with the colours.

    • That probably more effects the original theatrical version transfer of the films on the standard theatrical set. The extended blu-ray set i believe is fine.

  • still waiting for the directors cut of
Bad taste, Brain dead and Meet the Feebles

  • Thanks I've been waiting for this.

  • Already got the standard trilogy on blu ray, but couldn't resist this deal. Once I sell the ones I have, it will be even more of a bargain!

  • +1

Awsome..kids just bought it for me for fathers day.

  • +1

Sweet! Just purchased Toy Story trilogy for "the kids" and Downton Abbey for the wife.

  • Anyone else get a notice that Toy Story went out of stock? Downton Abbey has shipped already but Toy Story is sitting at Awaiting Stock Pick.

  • Will the blue ray work on a ps3 I.e are blurays region locked?

    • UK and Australia are in the same bluray region, it will work on an Australian ps3.

  • Moderators need to expire this as LOTR is now cheaper, trying to post new deal but wont let me
