There's some user reviews for this speaker. Scores 2.8 out of 5 http://www.productreview.com.au/p/logitech-z105.html

Apparently doesn't work so good under Linux lots of clicky sounds.

I have the same set and they work fine under my Ubuntu 12.04 install.

Who needs speakers for their server?

      • +3

        Linux isn't just for servers…
Linux is an operating system just like Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X

        • Nah, It's just for servers. That's why speakers, peripherals and basic drivers don't work without 17 hours of command line hacking.

          @Jake D:

They work on my server just fine.

The question is, local or nationwide? Might have to pop into my local on the way home this afternoon.

a true ozbargainer would've paid with a credit card and saved $0.01…

    • You could also use a debit card with the savings options.

    • +30

Surprised an ozbargainer would flaunt a $20 note.
      I'm jealous.

      • +5

Came up donuts at Coburg :(

    • +9

      What kinda donuts?

      • +17

Those disgusting pineapple icing donuts you have to settle for when nothing else good is left.

        • traditional pineapple donuts are the best. Havent seen one for years.
Norman Gunston use to have them for his guests.

I think he means the American "do-nuts" that resemble a zero.
Proper Aussie doughnuts (get the fscking spelling right at least!) do not have a hole, except one filled with jam. Mmmm…

        • +3

I think you deserve those negs

  • Usually when it's this cheap it's limited stores and definitely limited stock

None at Southland (V) actually not much of anything. Makes a pleasant change to be able to get into the place, rather than dodging all the junk.

  • Anyone got it successfully price matched at office works for further 5% off?

    • I wouldn't want to drive all the way to OW to get 5% off on $5 speakers :)

      • +2

5% off $1.99 to be exact, now that is the spirit of OzBargain. LOL

  • Is this deal at all aus posts?

  • +3

Oh yeah, what I meant to say before being distracted:

These are USB speakers, and do not plug into a 3.5mm output. So not good for your MP3 player etc.
The PC will see them as a separate device when plugged in. Works fine on Linux, OS-X, or other.

    • and they also work when plugged into a chromebook….

  • +2

None at Unley SA Post Shop

  • Will these work being plugged into an external monitor that has USB ports?

    • I'm going to say probably not as these use the USB port for audio data and the power source - basically single plug for everything.

What you want is a speakers that have a audio connector plug which normally would plug into a sound card and a USB port as a power source.

I very much doubt your monitor would support audio via USB in the way these speakers work - I could be wrong however…

Will these work being plugged into an external monitor that has USB ports?

Yes, if you mean a monitor with built-in USB hub, that connects to your PC's USB port.

  • Pricing error or what?

    • By the looks very limited stock in a very limited amount of shops. As in the way it looks no one has confirmed finding any stock other than the OP. I would assume it may have been a deal only in the one Aus Post shop that the OP was at since that may have been the only shop that actually had it left in stock.

My fellow Tasmanians … you'll find the last Z105 in stock at the Burnie Post Office. On your marks.

    • Heading to Launie tomorrow. It's only a 150km drive. MIght have to make a quick dash up the freeway :)

  • Here is the stock update for anyone who is looking to buy. I checked just now i.e. Friday 05/09/2014 at 8:50am.
Call Australia Post on 131318 and ask them to search for you rather than you calling all the stores one-by-one.
