Looked too good to be true - but checks out. Old School Netizens :-)

  • Comes to $6.46 AUD. Good deal though! Love namecheap.

  • Been waiting for an excuse to transfer my domains from godaddy. Looks like this is it. Cheers.

Sorry, not trying to be rude, but unless I am missing something here, this is just about normal price. You can even get it about $1.50 cheaper @ Crazy Domains which is an Aussie company. You can usually buy domains for just a few bucks if you look around and don't mind slightly dodgy registrars.

    • "don't mind slightly dodgy registrars"

How long have you been registering domains? Heard of registerfly? They were anything but 'dodgy'. Pretty big customer base and many nearly lost their names with them.

      • I was referring more to ones that make your life difficult when trying to move your domain, they usually are cheap but annoying. Crazy domains on the other hand is the best in Aus in my opinion, they have been around for years and I've had around 10 domains with them at one point or another. They are also about $1.50 cheaper so my point still stands - this is not really a deal in my opinion

Crazy Domains aren't the best in Australia.

They're one of the few registrars I've seen sanctioned by auDA - http://auda.org.au/news/crazydomains/

        • Except for the fact that they charge for everything else, sure…

        • @ryang:

I agree on that. But everyone charges for extras. In terms of getting a domain name only and easy transfers, nameserver updates they are great. I haven't had a single issue with them in all the years I've been with them

From my experience, crazy domains is appalling. So many problems and dramas that caused me to lose sleep. Stay away from them.

  • Anyone suggest a cheap hosting option to go with this?

Check out lowendbox.com, can get super cheap VPS deals. Pair it with VestaCP and it pretty dammed awesome!

+1, pick up one of the $12 yearly 128mb and for a static site, you're set with full control.

        • I'm running multiple low usage PHP sites on similar without any complaints.
Moved the higher load ones off to BinaryLane with serverpilot managing the config. Pretty sweet setup!!

If it's a static site you can get unlimited storage and bandwidth for an incredibly low price by hosting on Amazon S3.

You can also use most of the AWS tools on their free usage tier for 12 months with no obligation to continue once your year is up.

  • Only seems to apply to the first year though… any year following is standard price…>

  • Expired.
