UPDATE 17/9 2:20PM AEST: Just to update everyone on the progress. We are currently assembly and testing systems at the rate of 50 per day - although progress was slower in the past two days as we aggregated parts and sorted through specifics for everyone's order (such as upgrades). We are on track to have everyone system dispatched by the end of this week as mentioned previously. Apologies for the wait and thank you for your patience!

UPDATE 15/9 5:00PM AEST:
TL:DR Version: Sale extended until midnight, not all the orders can be assembled and tested within 48 Hours, if your order is urgent, contact us please.

Ok everyone - some good news and some bad news. The good news is that due to the payment issues that eBay has been experiencing, we've decided to extend our offer until just before midnight tonight.

The bad news is that due to the unprecedented number of orders, it is likely that we won't be able to assemble and dispatch everyone's order within 48 hours. Those who have ordered and paid will shortly be receiving an e-mail, the draft of which I will post below:

First of all, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you for purchasing a desktop system with us, we appreciate your support. The past few days have been unprecedented for PC Byte as a fledging company, we have received over two hundred system orders in the span of 48 hours, on top of order for other parts, peripherals and accessories, a number beyond our wildest imaginations and we have you to thank for it. So thank you.

Each PC Byte system is lovingly hand-built and tested, right here in our offices in Silverwater, Sydney. Our goal is to deliver a system that has been properly assembled and tested and our emphasis has always been on quality and not quantity. That is why you are receiving this e-mail because we need your help and understanding. The unprecedented number of orders means that it is likely we will be unable to meet our advertised lead time of 48 hours for assembly and dispatch - of course, we could churn out a hundred systems a day, but there would be little guarantee that it would be assembled with care and no time to ensure that it is tested properly - to our standards. So, with that in mind, we ask you to do the following:

  1. If you are happy for your system to be dispatched within five working days - there is no need for you to do anything :)
  2. If you need your system in a hurry - please drop us an eBay message. If you are looking at a specific time frame, please include it.

Rest assured, all system orders will be honoured, and, in the unlikely event that stocks of particular parts run out, we will contact you with an offer for a comparable alternative part or a full refund - although we do not anticipate that this will be necessary.

Thank you again for your support, understanding and patience in this time and, on behalf of the team, I'd like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delay on our end.
We hope that your experience purchasing with us will be a pleasant one and we look forward to serving you again in the future.

UPDATE 13/9 10:30PM AEST: Phew, just got off the plane and I have a bunch of messages from my colleagues to update the post with the following systems. Please note that these are not intended to be 'super' deals. These are intended to be for those who want to take advantage of eBay's 15% off promotion:

  1. Processor: Intel i3/i5/i7 - see below
  2. RAM: Crucial 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 (CT102464BA160)
  3. Motherboard: AsRock H81M DGS R2.0
  4. HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB
  5. Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX750Ti 2GB
  6. ODD: Lite-On DVD Burner (iHAS324)
  7. PSU: CoolerMaster Thunder 600W PSU
  8. Case: Armaggeddon TOMO T100

Intel i3-4160 w/o Windows 8.1 for $619
Intel i3-4160 w/ Windows 8.1 for $729

Intel i5-4590 w/o Windows 8.1 for $709
Intel i5-4590 w/ Windows 8.1 for $809

Intel i7-4790 w/o Windows 8.1 for $829
Intel i7-4790 w/ Windows 8.1 for $929

Price Comparison in comments below. Why aren't these all around the $667 mark? My, that's a very good question. I'll leave Peter to answer this one (see what happens when I step on a plane for a few hours?)

Anyways - Happy shopping everyone! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to enjoy my break :P

UPDATE 12/9 11:33PM: Hello all, thanks for the great response! :) We looking forward to building and sending out these systems, and, to be completely honest with you, Peter's currently sweating at the prospect of how many systems the team will have to build to fulfil the demand. It's fair to say that the interest in this deal greatly exceeded our expectations and we may have to make some adjustments to the system specifications as sales are made to ensure we can fulfil the demand (especially if stocks of particular components run low, we may have to substitute it or, especially in the case of the bonus WiFi adapters, omit it altogether). Peter will comment below should that occur and (as always) the eBay listing will always accurately reflect what is currently on offer. Do take the opportunity to hit refresh and have a quick glance at the latest listing before making your purchase - particularly if you are making your order later on Sunday / Monday.

Please also bear with us if there is any delays in dispatching your order - at this stage we do not anticipate any but if you need your PC in a hurry, you should probably leave us an eBay message with your purchase.

On a side note: I will go overseas to visit family tomorrow so I'll be on a plane most of the day so apologies if there's any delays updating this main post. Peter (if he isn't too stressed out) should be around to answer your questions. He's not a natural at this though so please go easy on him :P

Please note: This deal is provided by the PC Byte eBay team but I am posting it to comply with OzBargain Store Rep Guidelines. The Rep responsible for this deal Peterngu91, please direct all system related questions to him - Let's hope he doesn't get posting quota'd like last time ;)

MechKB also has a sale on Corsair K70/K95 this week. Feel free to have a look :)

        • Hi Peter, i've sent an ebay message to pc.byte, and included my query in my comment above.
          Thank you so much.

        • Hi wipz,

Working on the details, too many communications from various channel.
I promise I'll response in the next 30 minutes.

          Cheers
          Peter

        • @PeterNgu91:
Thanks Peter! I have received your message and have replied:)

  • PM message sent on BF4 build.

    • Replying now..

      • I probably should of stated i just wanted the PC with no CD drive and no HDD just a SSD.

        XD

  • Hi OP,

What is the brand you have for the SSD upgrade?

    • Hi victorheaven,

We use SanDisk or Samsung SSD :)
Whichever we have stocks to supply, both are good!

      Cheers
      Peter

      • Thanks Peter,

        I bought this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-4-Core-i5-4590-3-3GHz-8GB-1…
as well as some upgrades (SSD, GPU, wireless adapter) in a separate transaction to take advantage of the ebay 15%.

Can you make sure that they are installed and shipped together?

        Thanks

        • +1

All good, ebay msg replied :)

        • @PeterNgu91:

Fast reply and good price, definitely a plus from me.

Hopefully nothing dramatic happens with shipping (happened to me once)

  • Currently 55 Units sold according to Ebay listing.

Surely your stock must be getting low, if not completely gone by now?

I hope this doesn't turn into an 'out-of-stock' PR disaster for pc.byte.

Any updates on stock levels Peter? Just to keep peoples mind at ease.

    • +3

      Hey Viper1980,

I will let Peter confirm - the last I heard from the guys was before I left for my flight. Apparently they have managed to get additional stock on standby and they were confident they could deliver what has been ordered.

Also keep in mind that many people buy upgrades so '55' units doesn't always mean '55' sets of the same stuff.

    • +4

      Hi viper1980,

Due to the overwhelmed response from the deal.
It might take an extra few days to source all the extra parts, but we're sure to get them in to fulfill all the orders.

Spoken to our manager, and he's happy to have up to 100 units for the deal. Rest assure it won't be an Out of stock and refund disaster from us. The worst case would be a free upgrade if some particular parts run down in stock.

      Hope that makes it clear.

      Thanks
      Peter

      • Best customer service. Thankyou for the assurance.

  • Got the AMD deal + bluray upgrade for 440, pretty happy. Shall throw my 6850 and 1TB WDB inside, woo no more dual core.

  • Hey can the base AMD A8-7600 build run dual monitors? Thanks

    • Hi thanq,

If it's not for heavy gaming use, it should be able to handle dual monitor for normal processing, browsing, etc.

      Cheers,
      Peter.

      • Is it possible at all to run 2 monitors on the APU + a GPU? I have a 7870 at the moment. For example, I want to run a 27" on the GPU and a 18" on the APU. Or will I still see better results from running both on the 7870?

        • Hi ltwo,

Both screen will run fine on GPU alone. Unless you needed to play graphics intensive gaming with high settings, that won't work.
Are you planning to run on 27" QHD or 27" Full HD 1080P screen?

          Cheers,
          Peter

        • @PeterNgu91: My 27" is 1080.

        • Yeah, if you do not have high end gaming which require intensive graphics performance. The GPU alone would be sufficient to handle 2 monitors.

          Cheers,
          Peter

  • Hi Guys, stooopid question for you….

If you order the SSD as an upgrade does the OS automatically get installed on the SSD? How fast does it boot with the SSD and what would be the minimum size you'd recommend for this scenario (120 or 240)?

I'm currently chugging along on a low spec 8 year old PC and booting the thing up takes about 5 mins!!!

    Thanks :)

    • +1

An SSD, particularly the Samsung EVO range, will make a dramatic difference to 99% of PC's out there. I saw my i7 laptop go from what is normally a 60+ second cold boot, to as little as 14 seconds from cold boot, ready to work.

Since SSD's have become mainstream, they, in my opinion, are the biggest bang-for-buck enhancement you can possibly do to any PC or laptop.

From research and use, I HIGHLY recommend the Samsung EVO range as my pick of the bunch.

    • +2

      Hi singlefished,

Yes, we will install the OS into the SSD by default if you have SSD as an upgrade option.
I would suggest 240GB for value for money now.

As viper1980 mentioned, booting will be as little as under 20 seconds.
I have my 480GB SanDisk Extreme II boot up under 10 seconds!

      Cheers,
      Peter

  • Any deals with Devil's canyon?

I'm thinking something along the lines of:

    AsRock Extreme6 Z97
    4790K
    Whatever Gold PSU you have?
and pretty much the rest of your specs… I want to build a decent PC and that base would allow me to upgrade it over time.

    • Hi,

Can you drop me a PM with the full requirements?

      • Do you need OS?
      • Do you require any cooling kit?
      • What is your case preference?

      Cheers,
      Peter

      • Ok, this awkward… I don't know how to PM here! hahaha new member, sorry.

But to answer your question no need for OS or cooling kit at this stage. As for the case, I just want something that will allow me to run water cooling later on (H100i or something similar) and be well ventilated. Not too picky when it comes to the looks of it… if anything I'd prefer something more conservative if possible (i.e. as little lights/LEDs and etc as possible.)

        • Hi there,

Can you drop a message on our eBay messaging system?
I would send you the details.

          Thanks,
          Peter

  • Hi Roland,

I feel like I made a big mistake. I bought the system last night along with a few upgrades, not realizing Intel i7 deals would be happening. Is there any way I can change things to get a different system? I spent about so much on upgrades that would be much better suited to the i7 system than the amd one.

My username on eBay is intoxicoligist88 and I would be very appreciative if you can help.

I was even so keen I bought before the 15% off sale went live, talk about getting caught up in a good deal!

    • I'm on it :)

      Cheers,
      Peter

  • Hi OP,

I'm looking at the below build:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-4-Core-i7-4790-3-6GHz-4GB-1…

    I have two questions.

    1. If I upgrade the RAM to 8GB, I assume the upgrade comes as a single 8GB stick? i.e. Leaving a spare RAM slot after the upgrade?
    2. Can you upgrade to CoolerMaster 600W PSU + Huntkey Spider for free?

    Thanks.

    • Hi yjm,

1- Yes, you can put a request to use a single stick 8GB RAM.

2- Unfortunately, we cannot offer free PSU / Huntkey for it. Can you PM me with the full specs requirements, I'll see what I can do.

      Cheers,
      Peter

      • PM'ed you, Peter. Thanks.

  • Hi I'm thinking of getting one of these: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-4-Core-i5-4590-3-3GHz-8GB-1…
And I was wondering if it was possible to purchase it without the HDD??

    • Hi distinction,

I understand we can't PM each other since you're a new registered OZB account.
Can you drop a message to our ebay messaging system, I'll advise from there.

      Thank you
      Peter

      • Hi, Ive messaged you and am waiting for a response

  • Guys the system won't be bottlenecked right -it's for BF4 on max and will run a 27" IPS monitor:

    Processor: Intel i5 4590
    RAM: Crucial 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 (CT102464BA160)
    Motherboard: AsRock H81M DGS R2.0
    SSD: 128GB Samsung
    Graphics Card: R9 280x 3GB
    PSU: CoolerMaster Thunder 600W PSU

  • Hi Guys,

just bought "Intel i5-4590 w/ Windows 8.1" & added 250GB SSD as a different transaction for maximum ebay savings :)

I bought the system with Windows 8.1 but requested to install the OS by myself… is that OK?

    If not, no worries :)

Just want to say thanks anyway for the great deal, service and communication! I hope you don't pull out too much hair over the next few days getting all the orders out the door!

  • Does anyone know what kind of performance I would be achieving if I were to be playing CS:GO and LoL in terms of FPS(At medium - high graphics)

  • Hi Store Rep,

I'm keen on getting the AMD + SSD addon however I want an alternate case - The Coolermaster CM N400 would be more preferred than the Huntkey Spider Red.

Can you see if this can be accommodated? If yes, I'll be making a purchase tonight! :P

    • Hi,

Can you drop me a PM on OzBargain?

      Peter

  • +10

Hey Peter and Roland, I'd just like to say thank you for the job yous have done so far, your replying to everyone's questions and catering to peoples individual requests. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and Peter was very prompt and helpful with his reply to me with my ebay purchase. I even took the time and went through your store and have made plans for future purchases.

I even took the time to look through your "negative feedback" which their was surprisingly only very few and I was quite pleased to see how you rectified any issues promptly you had with customers even if they were trivial or out of your control.

Thanks again for the first of many purchases :)

    • +5

Thanks for the kind words monkey321! More Peter than me I must say. Look forward to dealing with you again! :)

  • Hi guys

Hope you are still around to reply

Im looking to swap the Base AMD setup to change the HDD to a 60gb ssd and changing the case to the Coolermaster n400

emailed Peter last night and he suggested it was possible to do this at no extra cost since its a direct swap of parts

Can someone tell me how i go about actually ordering it?

    Thanks!

Ive sent some PMs and emails to peter which you could reply to also

    • Hi,

Yes, I'm here. Was sorting out the transactions.
I'm on it for you now, give me a few minutes to reply your PM

      Cheers,
      Peter

      • Thanks Pete

Just wanna say the best PC shop customer service ive experienced in YEARS

        10/10 would buy again

  • Thanks guys, just ordered the $569 i5 system (no graphics card), upgraded to 2TB hdd (hoping for WD), bluray reader and b85 board (few more features) for only $562.70 :) very happy with the service which made me take the leap!

  • Hi all,
Was there specific options to get the free upgrades? I have bought the system above but saw no way to upgrade for free. Perhaps they have run out?

(Also - Peter I believe, I have emailed the ebay store asking that the GPU I bought in a separate transaction will be combined and installed with the system.)

    Regards,
    Shane

    • Hey Shane,

The upgrades are included for free in the listing - if you scroll down you'll see the extra items included :)

  • Hi PeterNgu91,

    I sent you a PM regarding Intel 4-Core i5 4590 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171457948214

  • Hi Peter,

Thanks for all your efforts in this post as likewise to others have said above youve done a great job with this.

I sent you a PM earlier in regards to my order and it'll be great if you can take a look.

    Thanks

    • Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't the eBay sale been extended to 11:59pm the 16th September? So have you extended your sale until then?

      • Hi Cheap Skate,

Yes, we extended our sale till 11.59PM today.

        Cheers :)

        • Thanks Peter, I sent you a pm too.

      • Sorry, error on my behalf, I did not notice that eBay had also extended their sale. Ours is only extended until midnight today barring any developments.

    • Well I'm hoping that the systems will be built and dispatched in order of purchase? First person to purchase gets the first system built & dispatched, in order, then next person that purchased etc…?

Can you confirm or advise otherwise Peter? Appreciated.

      • +1

        Hi viper1980,

That is right, we have the orders sorted in that format :)

I'm happy to wait if it means it's less rushed and done properly, but thanks for the heads up :)

  • Placed an order this morning, just wanted to say the reps here have been very helpful. Great service so far :)

  • which add-ons should I get to play slightly older games like BF3, BFBC2 etc?

  • @PeterNgu91 I PM'd you regarding my order couple of hours ago, please reply me thanks

    • Replied.

Just registered to drop a line to say thanks for the super quick and open communications I've had with Peter from PC Byte. I've just made an order for the i5 4590 3.3Ghz system with added extras. =)

So far I've experienced very helpful and friendly advice. It goes to show that if you do go that extra mile, it will do wonders for your reputation. It's great to see that in this day and age, we still have genuinely nice people in businesses who do stand behind their words and care about what they do.
Well done and all the best.

    • Same here ! Also wanted to say thank you to the team at PC Byte. Made an Order last night for the i7 Package with a few extras.

Excellent service, and considering how busy these guys have been, i was getting replies late at night within 10-15mins !

Super Super ! Keep up the good work guys !

  • Hi Peter, Just wondering if you had a chance to see my PM. Thanks!

      Hi JleeLink,

      I'm still here.

You can PM System Spec your looking for, I will see, what I can do for you.

      Cheers :)

  • Hi Peter,

Good to see you still checking this thread!

I sent a message through the ebay app on my phone about change my os from 8.1 to 7 but not sure if I did it right (never messaged on the ebay app before)

Did the message get through or did I stuff it up?

    Thanks, Scotty….

    • Hi Scotty,

      Yes, will reply you shortly.

      Cheers,
      Peter

  • Thanks for letting me know Peter :)

I hate using the windows phone ebay app but you're forced to on wp8.1 as the ebay website defaults to that dodgy wap version which is useless :(

  • Bought one with -15% deal, was originally hoping to swap out for a microATX case+MB though after looking at the features of this motherboard compared to mATX versions, decided to stick with the default MB.

Looking forward to receiving it in the mail, cheers guys!

    ~Apologies for late feedback.

    • Hi dyl,

Can you please PM us your eBay ID?

      Thanks.

  • Hi Peter, I purchased a system with upgrades in 2 separate transactions. Just wanted to check that they're linked. Thanks.

  • +5

Just to update everyone on the progress.

    • Fantastic communication by the team.
50 systems a day!, wow you guys work fast.

      Spackbace on 15/09/2014 - 15:05
I'm happy to wait if it means it's less rushed and done properly, but thanks for the heads up :)

Spackbace summed it up pretty well here. I think most ppl understand it was a massive sale so take your time and don't rush it (@PeterNgu: Did the i3/i5 rigs sell like hotcakes? :P).

  • Those who have ordered and paid will shortly be receiving an e-mail, the draft of which I will post below:

As I never received an email does that mean my order was unaffected by the delay?

    • I haven't received it either. The ebay's expected arrival date was today but I didn't receive it. Hopefully it'll get here end of this week.

      • Mine was sent last night, I won't expect it till early next week. Obviously got a lot of orders on Sunday. I was looking at building a new pc, but I couldn't source the parts this cheap, so better to have them do it for me. xD

      • As my reply to AnophthalmiaCervidae, did you receive your order?

    • Hey AnophtalmiaCervidae,

I don't think the e-mail went out in the end after I drafted it -_-. Not sure why they asked me to draft it in the first place. Have you received your order?

      • Have not received it yet.

The eBay tracking link gives an error but checking the number via http://www.startrack.com.au/ indicates an ETA tomorrow.

        • Ok. If you don't receive it by then, could you drop me a PM with your order number and tracking number?

  • Just out of curiosity, how many systems did you guys sell during this sale?

    • Many, many systems :P

As noted, around 200 PC systems all up (including some special off eBay transactions where the specs different too much from what was offered.)

  • +2

Received mine today and am VERY impressed with the quality, including the case which I really like personally although some of you don't.

The packaging was very good and bubble wrapped several times with extra layers for protection, and I'm glad it included all of the original packaging and boxes, mboard, ram etc…..

I opened up the case and the installation is of high quality with cables routed correctly and use of cable organisers was perfect.

Should another deal come up with PC Byte, I would highly recommend them.

10 out of 10 for the PC Byte team, and the deal. Thanks greatly!

    • Mine stillhasn't shipped yet :\

      • Ok mine just marked as shipped, got tracking with StarTrack.

        • Have you received it yet? If not, feel free to drop me the tracking and order number?

    • Cheers viper1980, glad to be of service! :)

  • Neither has mine and wasn't provided with tracking number.

    • Hey Ronnnie, has this changed in the past two days? If not, drop me a PM with your order number and I'll chase it up?

      • Yeah I have received now, but I have a couple of issues. I'll send pm.

        • Replied :)
