UPDATE 17/9 2:20PM AEST: Just to update everyone on the progress. We are currently assembly and testing systems at the rate of 50 per day - although progress was slower in the past two days as we aggregated parts and sorted through specifics for everyone's order (such as upgrades). We are on track to have everyone system dispatched by the end of this week as mentioned previously. Apologies for the wait and thank you for your patience!

UPDATE 15/9 5:00PM AEST:
TL:DR Version: Sale extended until midnight, not all the orders can be assembled and tested within 48 Hours, if your order is urgent, contact us please.

Ok everyone - some good news and some bad news. The good news is that due to the payment issues that eBay has been experiencing, we've decided to extend our offer until just before midnight tonight.

The bad news is that due to the unprecedented number of orders, it is likely that we won't be able to assemble and dispatch everyone's order within 48 hours. Those who have ordered and paid will shortly be receiving an e-mail, the draft of which I will post below:

First of all, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you for purchasing a desktop system with us, we appreciate your support. The past few days have been unprecedented for PC Byte as a fledging company, we have received over two hundred system orders in the span of 48 hours, on top of order for other parts, peripherals and accessories, a number beyond our wildest imaginations and we have you to thank for it. So thank you.

Each PC Byte system is lovingly hand-built and tested, right here in our offices in Silverwater, Sydney. Our goal is to deliver a system that has been properly assembled and tested and our emphasis has always been on quality and not quantity. That is why you are receiving this e-mail because we need your help and understanding. The unprecedented number of orders means that it is likely we will be unable to meet our advertised lead time of 48 hours for assembly and dispatch - of course, we could churn out a hundred systems a day, but there would be little guarantee that it would be assembled with care and no time to ensure that it is tested properly - to our standards. So, with that in mind, we ask you to do the following:

  1. If you are happy for your system to be dispatched within five working days - there is no need for you to do anything :)
  2. If you need your system in a hurry - please drop us an eBay message. If you are looking at a specific time frame, please include it.

Rest assured, all system orders will be honoured, and, in the unlikely event that stocks of particular parts run out, we will contact you with an offer for a comparable alternative part or a full refund - although we do not anticipate that this will be necessary.

Thank you again for your support, understanding and patience in this time and, on behalf of the team, I'd like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delay on our end.
We hope that your experience purchasing with us will be a pleasant one and we look forward to serving you again in the future.

UPDATE 13/9 10:30PM AEST: Phew, just got off the plane and I have a bunch of messages from my colleagues to update the post with the following systems. Intel i7-4790 w/ Windows 8.1 for $929

Price Comparison in comments below. Why aren't these all around the $667 mark? My, that's a very good question. I'll leave Peter to answer this one (see what happens when I step on a plane for a few hours?)

Anyways - Happy shopping everyone! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to enjoy my break :P

UPDATE 12/9 11:33PM: Hello all, thanks for the great response! :) We looking forward to building and sending out these systems, and, to be completely honest with you, Peter's currently sweating at the prospect of how many systems the team will have to build to fulfil the demand. It's fair to say that the interest in this deal greatly exceeded our expectations and we may have to make some adjustments to the system specifications as sales are made to ensure we can fulfil the demand (especially if stocks of particular components run low, we may have to substitute it or, especially in the case of the bonus WiFi adapters, omit it altogether). Peter will comment below should that occur and (as always) the eBay listing will always accurately reflect what is currently on offer. Do take the opportunity to hit refresh and have a quick glance at the latest listing before making your purchase - particularly if you are making your order later on Sunday / Monday.

Please also bear with us if there is any delays in dispatching your order - at this stage we do not anticipate any but if you need your PC in a hurry, you should probably leave us an eBay message with your purchase.

On a side note: I will go overseas to visit family tomorrow so I'll be on a plane most of the day so apologies if there's any delays updating this main post. Peter (if he isn't too stressed out) should be around to answer your questions. He's not a natural at this though so please go easy on him :P

Please note: This deal is provided by the PC Byte eBay team but I am posting it to comply with OzBargain Store Rep Guidelines. The Rep responsible for this deal Peterngu91, please direct all system related questions to him - Let's hope he doesn't get posting quota'd like last time ;)

MechKB also has a sale on Corsair K70/K95 this week. Feel free to have a look :)

  • I want to be able to play games like Dota 2 and Civ 5 and such.
What is a recommended GPU upgrade; should I do? Should I get an SSD?
I'm hoping for the under $600 shipped mark with the EBAY 15% off.
    Cheers

    • A video card upgrade isn't going to do much for you if you only play strategy games. Just turn down the fancy effects.

DOTA2 is fairly low-spec friendly and will run fine on any modern computer.

Civ 5 on the other hand will be CPU intensive, apparently the longer you play the more complex the game becomes and the more AI calculations need to be done. http://www.reddit.com/r/civ/comments/1jmhth/
this is one of the few games out there that will see the CPU being the bottleneck rather than the GPU.

      • Waiting for turns is a killer… but it's a killer even with a good CPU :|

  • Will this suit video streaming to TV and some basic video editing? By basic I mean cut and paste home videos of the kids.

    • +1

Intel Core i3/i5 generally does those kinds of things better. The A8 can still do those tasks fine and for this price you can't really complain.

Thanks scrimshaw, my fingers are crossed that Roland and the crew will have a couple of Intel deals to compete on Sunday.

        • +1

          Hi dan76n,

Check out our post tonight after 7pm. We are working on something behind the scene, most suppliers are off-work today so it's difficult but we'll make things happen for the entire range!
Bear with us, I know many is waiting to take the $100 off savings under eBay's 15th specials.

          Stay tuned!

    • This would be more than enough for what you want .

  • Can anyone recommend me on a GPU if I was to use this PC to play RPG and action games on medium quality? e.g Witcher 3, Watch Dogs, etc.

    • Hi gnrldd65,

I will recommend at least R9 270X / GTX 760 GPU (will require at least 550W psu) to run graphics intensive game in medium setting (at 1080p)

You can always use this site (http://www.anandtech.com/bench/GPU14/815) to check which gpu is suitable for you.

      Cheers :)

  • Will it be possible to turn this into a "cheap" gaming machine if one was to chuck a 290x or 780ti inside or will the CPU/MB get bottlenecked and/or need to upgrade the PSU as well?

    • Hi Johnjones8,

We usually suggest High-end GPU pair with High-end CPU, cuz their are bottlenecked issue between them. Of course you need higher wattage power supply to meet entire system wattage requirement (as high end gpu usually need more watt to operate) :)

  • would this be okay for an mmorpg like Aion Online? :)

    • Hi freshpetalz,

I'm not that familiar with this game will look into it, and come back to you.

      • Hi freshpetalz,

This system will able to run the game in default setting, it is always better to get at least R7 260x 2GB or GTX 750 2GB to get this type of game run better (in term of fps).

        Hope this help you.

        Cheers :)

  • Can you please put a similar deal for a intel i7 system on ebay on sunday?

    • +1

      Hi videoman,

Game on! You ask for it, we'll make it happen!
You will see entire Intel range builds up shortly. Be sure to check them out after 7pm!
If you do need to upgrades and if we happen to not have it available on eBay. Do drop us a msg, so we can customized a listing for your requirements.

      Stay tuned!

  • NOTE:
    eBay T&C:- http://pages2.ebay.com.au/Sunday

For those who is looking for upgrades onto all the base systems. Do drop a PM to myself so we can prepare an unique listing for you. This is a special arrangement so everyone of you could maximize the value savings for 15% off or $100 for up to 3 transactions.

Thank you for all the support! ! !

    Peter

    • I believe if you buy everything once (i.e. one checkout for multiple items) it will count 1 transaction :)

      • Hi kamikara,

        Yes, you are right.

The way of the savings would be:-
        1) Buy the base system (15% or $100 off) for first transaction.
        2) Upgrade the system (15% or $100 off) for second transaction.

Some customers might look for parts where we do not have it on eBay. That's where we need to create an unique listing for upgrades.

        Cheers!

        • +2

Hi everyone, just relaxing in transit, I thought I might clarify my colleague's comments.

Based on my reading of the T&Cs, EBay will take up to 15% or $100 (whichever amount is lower) off 3 transactions. You can include multiple items in one transaction but the maximum discount remains $100.

Therefore, the best way to maximize your savings is to ensure you make 3 purchases of about $667 each. A good way is to buy our system and a mix of upgrades such as a GFX but you can always mix and match depending on what you need. Be sure to put them in one cart and checkout all at once - so it counts as one transaction (at least, this is my reading of the rules.)

        • Yeah as per T&C Roland is correct. 15% off any value is still %15, separate or together. For those buying the standard setup it won't really matter.

  • Hey just a question on future proofing. I would like to upgrade to a better CPU in 3 years time. Does this motherboard support the top of the range AMD CPUs? Thanks

    • +1

      Hi cabbagetea,

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee on this part, APU's socket might change in the next 1-2 years.
It would be hard for us to tell if it would support the high-end AMD CPU's down the road.

I would recommend an Intel build, if you would to upgrade in 3 years time. I am posting the link for I3, I5, I7 range in the next few minutes.
      Have a look at those.

  • +6

    It's here.

Intel I3, I5, I7 Desktop with HD Graphics, front USB 3.0
Take your advantage tomorrow to take 15% / $100 off eBay 15th Birthday.

    http://stores.ebay.com.au/Pc-Byte-Store/Specials-/_i.html?_f…

    I3 4160: $619
    I5 4590: $709
    I7 4790: $829

Have a great weekend & happy shopping!

    • thanks rep! really appreciate your effort

    • Any available without GC?

      • Hi MarkB4,

        Which system are you after?

        Cheers.

    • +1

Now if you can only sell the computer in two halves (split into 2 transactions) we could get the full 15% eBay discount not capped at $100.

      • Hi AnophthalmiaCervidae,

I don't think we can do this for accounting purposes, sorry :|
The savings can only be put into upgrades, etc.

        Thanks.

    • Do these include the free upgrades?

      • Hi StarkIndustries,

Unfortunately it does not come with the network card upgrade.
But we dropped the price down and upgrade the PSU into a Coolermaster 600W Thunder PSU to suit the GPU included.

        Hope that makes it clear.
        Thanks.

        • Which would you recommend then? It's either the i3 or the one offered. I guess I just want an all round fast working computer and play the occasional games. Also with the one offered, is the USB 3.0 at the front and is there a slot for MMC/SD?

        • Hi StarkIndustries,

Our main deal AMD is the one that I'll recommend for sure :P. It has the best value for money at the price offered in market now.
If you are after better graphics performance, i3 would be the one to go. It has better graphics performance than the AMD APU :)

I know for sure it does have USB 3.0 at the front, but I don't think it comes with MMC/SD slot on Armaggeddon T100.

          Thanks.

        • @PeterNgu91: so just to clarify, the huntkey spider has a usb 3.0 at the front and mcc/sd?

        • Hi StarkIndustries,

Huntkey spider only comes with USB 3.0, not with MMC/SD.

We do have 1 or 2 option (free upgrade) with USB 3.0 and MMC/SD.
          Link: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AMD-4-Core-FX-4300-3-8GHz-4GB-160…

Check out case "D" and "G", both comes with USB 3.0 and SD slot at the front.

          Cheers.
          Peter

  • I wonder if you can do
    Fx 8320 Am3+ amd build ?

    • Hi florachan,

Can you drop me a PM on your requirements?
I will see what I can do.

      Cheers

      • already pmed you. thanks

  • Rep can you do a deal for the Samsung 32GB Micro SDHC EVO?

  • So there won't be any OS on it except for FreeDos? I'm not sure how freedos works

    • Hi StarkIndustries,

Yes, there won't be any OS installed.

We do have windows upgrades available as below link:-
      http://stores.ebay.com.au/Pc-Byte-Store/OS-Upgrade-/_i.html?…

      FreeDos:-
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeDOS

      Thanks.

      • I still have my Windows XP (which I currently still use), am I able to install it onto it? I like it old school.

        • Was it an OEM version or full retail edition?

          Cheers.

        • @PeterNgu91: Not sure what OEM is but it's a burnt copy my friend gave me years ago which I use all the time when I need it.

        • Hi StarkIndustries,

As a retailer & partner of Microsoft, I would strongly suggest you to upgrade an authentic OS into your system.

To my knowledge, it is "not-legal" to use a burnt copy without original license product key for any Microsoft Window Operating System to be installed into a PC.

          Thank you.

    • Actually glad they're making Windows an upgradable option.

there are probably better ways in getting it without paying micro rates in Aus

  • Thanks for the deal rep, hopefully you'll have enough stock for everyone :)

  • On a side note rep is it possible to get this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-4-Core-i5-4590-3-3GHz-8GB-1…

without the GPU? please let us know!

Phew, just got off the plane and I have a bunch of messages from my colleagues to update the post with the following systems. Please note that these are not intended to be 'super' deals. These are intended to be for those who want to take advantage of eBay's 15% off promotion:

    Price Comparison as follows:

    • AsRock H81M DGS R2.0 - $57 GoComp
    • 8GB Cruical RAM - $79 Allneeds
    • WD Blue 1TB - $60 IT Estate
    • Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti 2GB - $172 I-Tech

i7 System w/ Windows, assembled and delivered $1009

Apologies in advance if I've missed anything or gotten some of the figures wrong, it's being a long day.

Why aren't these all around the $667 mark? My, that's a very good question. I'll leave Peter to answer this one (see what happens when I step on a plane for a few hours?)

Anyways - Happy shopping everyone! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to enjoy my break :P

    • Addendum: i5 System is now $709, looks like $729 was a typo :|

  • OP would this system be able to run BF3 ? i want another PC apart from my iMac and was just curious. Any specific bundle/upgrades you'd recommend to be able to run BF3 or possibly BF4 ? Not running Max settings but just average quality.
    Thanks in advance.

    • Yeah… it should run BF3 at medium settings provided you don't go nuts on filters and etc. But if I were you, I'd invest a little bit more on it and try to get the i5 deal + SSD. BF4 takes FOREVER to load if you don't have a decent CPU+SSD… it won't matter much in game though.

  • So REP is this possible?

    Transaction 1:
    Intel 4-Core i5 4590 system $709 —-15% off capped at $100—-> $609

    Transaction 2:
    GPU upgrade to R9 270x$118 + MotherBoard upgrade to H97 $79 + Windows 0S 8 $125 + $X postage cost? = $322 —-15% off —-> $273 + $x postage

    Total = $882 + (15% off) $x postage
So thats the system with the upgrades, assembled and posted together? Cant seem to be a combined postage for all the items in transaction 2.

Is the motherboard upgrade to H97 even worth it?

    • Hey JLove - I'll wait for Peter to confirm but my understanding is that the prices on eBay are inclusive of postage :)

    • I have a bunch of PCI devices so I plan on getting the H97. (Don't need the overclocking of the Z97.)

Roland, what is the model number please? This is the board I want: http://www.asrock.com/mb/photo/Box/Fatal1ty%20H97%20Killer(m).jpg

      • +1

This, I am not too sure. You'll have to wait for reply from Peter. You can always drop him a PM to let him know that you want that specific model and if that's not the model that the H97 upgrade is then he can always quote you the price difference.

        • Okay thanks anyway!

      • +1

        Hi mikeInside,

The upgrade of H97 model would be ASRock Fatal1ty H97-PERFORMANCE

        Cheers.
        Peter

    • +1

      Hi JLove,

      Transaction 1- Ok
Transaction 2- Not a problem, just choose the upgrade options you would like to have with the build. Basically it's $322, included shipping & assembly.

Both system with the upgrades, will be assembled, tested and dispatch together to your door.

As for H97 upgrade, it depends if you would upgrade CPU in future. H97 supports 5th generation of Intel CPus, so it's more of a board for future upgrades :)

      Hope this helps.
      Cheers.

      • Oh I see, I wont bother with the H97 then, and I just realised the $809 i5 version includes Windows OS.
+1 for the quick and honest replies, looks like you're getting my business.

        • Hi JLove,

          That's great :)

          Happy Sunday & Happy Shopping!

          Cheers.

    • Cheaper to get
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-4-Core-i5-4590-3-3GHz-8GB-1…
With windows included (extra $100) than to pay $125 with 15% off ($106.25).

      • That's right. So I've put together 3 sets with OS and 3 sets without OS.
If there is upgrades needed, people might go for without OS + upgrades to bring down further savings!

        Cheers.

  • Does it have HDMI port?

    • Hi MLGB,

Yes, it does come with HDMI port.

      Cheers.

  • Reps I want a system that can play BF4 on max - I only want a 128gb SSD [no hdd], no DVD drive required, no OS required, no wifi card needed [will use ethernet port]. Can you make me something? As cheap as possible please so don't need anyfancy extras. Is this system my best bet:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-4-Core-i5-4590-3-3GHz-8GB-1…

If so can you link me a custom build with the above requested. I'd ideally like to play it on a 24" or 27" monitor so hope the card can cope.

    • Hi sj2can,

      Good morning
Received your PM, will work on it asap :)

      Cheers.

      • I'am looking for something similar, mind pm'ing me any deals on offer for this sort of build. Don't need any fancy extras.

        • PM sent.

  • Hi, I'm looking at getting the Intel i5-4590 w/o Windows system. The default AsRock H81M DGS R2.0 only seems to support 4 SATA devices. I need 6. It's hard to tell from the motherboard upgrade options which exact motherboard model we would get within each Chipset. Could you please tell me which is the cheapest motherboard upgrade option to support 6 sata devices and what the model number for that would be?

    • Hi,

      Good morning.
The upgrade you are looking at would be the $79 to H97.
The exact model would be: H97-PERFORMANCE

It supports up to 6 SATA ports.

      Cheers.

  • Hi op, would this be suitable for a home all rounder and add a windows 7 to it? I have asked for recommendaion from fellow ozabrgainers on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/158433 but haven't acted on it yet.

    • Hi ljg00,

      Good morning.
I would say it's definitely sufficient for a home all rounder use if high-end intensive graphics used in latest PC game is not required.

      Cheers.

  • Hi Peter,

Can you answer a few quick questions on the following, its between (I will swap to Win7, cant stand Win8):

    Intel i3-4160 w/ Windows 8.1 for $729
    Intel i5-4590 w/ Windows 8.1 for $809

    1) I want to for something with a more GFX punch, so the Intel deal is for me. Is it work the extra $80 for the i5 in your opinion? It basically has more cores correct?
    2) I noticed that you said that the Intel's do NOT come with a network card. So will I have to add one as an extra? I want to be able to use ethernet cable and Wifi on this.
    3) Once bought as soon as the Ebay deal goes live, approx how long would this take to get shipped to Melbourne after burn in etc?

    Cheers mate!

    • Hi DKPARTY,

Good morning. Sure, see my replies as below.
*I have many colleagues who can never go Win8 and still stay at Win7, I feel your pain :|

      1) What sort of GFX card would you be looking at?

      2) Yes, however upgrades options are available for a WiFi Network Card.

      3) We usually assemble, burn & test within 1-3 business days prior to dispatch. I would say generally about a week to reach customers in Melbourne. One thing I can't be sure of though that if the deal gets OzBargained. We might have to extend some systems dispatch for another 1-2 days.

      Cheers.

      • Thanks for the replies,

I meant the card that comes with this Intel bundle (GTX 750 Ti), as appossed to the R7 onboard card from the advertised AMD deal. Sorry for the confusion. Will the extra cores make any difference?

So It will be an additonal $25 for the network card on top of whichever i3/i5 bunble? just add it to the cart?

        Thanks.

        • Hi DKPARTY,

Sorry, my bad. Early morning :|
It doesn't really matter much on cores when we're speaking about graphics performance. i3 would suit your need if you're using the system for streaming, browsing and some photo edit.

The Intel builds will definitely have better graphics performance over the AMD on-board graphics.

Yes, just add to cart and we'll upgrade & test it for you prior to dispatch.

          Cheers.

  • Hi Peter,

Just sent you a PM regarding a combo that I'm not too sure if you can do or not. Let me know.

    Thanks and much appreciated!

    • Replied.

  • Hi Rep,

    Any chance on this system:

    Intel i5-4590 w/ Windows 8.1 for $809

    with windows 7?

    Thanks

    • Hi ZzRice007,

Yes, sure we can arrange that.
All you need to do is to drop a note upon checkout request for Windows 7.
I'll make sure everything is sorted for you.

      Cheers
      Peter

      • awesome thanks for that!

      • rep ccan i get windows 7 pro? is there any difference to home? i can pay more if needed
and do I need a network card to connect to my modem by cable?

        • Hi ZzRice007,

          1) Yes, you can upgrade to a Win7 Pro. Would be a difference of $44.

          2) No you do not have to get an additional network card, the motherboard comes with on board network port.

          Cheers
          Peter

  • Hi Rep. Is this (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-2-Core-i3-4160-3-6GHz-8GB-1…) the same as the i3 above but without the dedicated video card? If so, can you do the same upgrade to Armaggeddon Case & Coolermaster 600W PSU for free?

    • Hi tatnal,

Drop me a PM? I don't think we can do the same free upgrade, the cost different is more than $50 for the 2 parts.

      Sorry :|

  • So is there a deal you can do including OS?

    • Hi StarkIndustries,

What the final specs you are looking at?
Can you drop me a PM if they are not on the Intel / AMD builds listed for the deal.

      Thanks
      Peter

  • How do I add an OS on top of this for you guys to install it?
Do I just buy the separate individual item in the one transaction and just add a note?

    • Hi astroe,

That is right. If you are looking for other upgrades options you can separate into 2 transactions (one for base system without OS, one for upgrades with OS + upgrades)

Which system are you after? We do have the Intel builds with OS included.

      Cheers
      Peter

  • On the i5 system, upgrading to B85 chipset would mean which board? And what would the difference be (it's only a $29 upgrade, hoping more USB3)

    • Hi Spackbace,

It would be upgraded to AsRock B85M-Pro4 Motherboard but it has the same number of USB ports as the H81
If you would like to have more USB 3, we have Z87M gigabyte board, with 2 extra USB 3 ports.

Can you PM your full requirements? So I can work out the numbers for you.

      Thanks,
      Peter

      • Just noticed the AsRock B85M-Pro4 has support for front USB3 (which the case has) and more ram slots etc, so may be the better option for now :)

  • Hi Peter and Roland
I'm keen to buy a system, I have a few questions for you- sending PM.
    Thanks!

    • Hi Peter
