Samsung 40" 3D Smart LED TV UA40H6400AW $660 + Shipping (RRP $1250) GoodGuys eBay Store

130
CELEBRATE15

This deal is available from the GoodGuys eBay Store. Ozbargain is not letting me put that link in as apparently with 27000+ feedback its not a "top rated eBay store". Mods can you please fix this?

I had my eye on this one for the bedroom for a while. I pulled the trigger on it just now. $103 cheaper than the JBHIFI deal posted here a couple of days ago.

Not the cheapest TV out there but its a great price for a brand name 3D Quad Core Smart TV.

Link to the previous low of $763 @ JBHIFI https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/160727

This is my first time giving back to the OzBargain community so please be nice :)

  • Wowzer I paid $1100 for this exact model less than 6 months ago. Not a bad TV but the TV guide sucks and is very slow. A commmon samsung fault

    • Isn't that the same with all TV's? My Bravia is horrible too.

    • Thanks. I should have thought of that.

  • Think this tv will get any cheaper around end of year sales?

    • Its already almost 50% off. I can't say, stranger things have happened. I called GoodGuys and they refused to go below $750 and suggested I buy through eBay instead.

How about the LG 42LB6500 ?
Same price with 2" more, 4 X 3D Glasses instead of 2, 100Hz Native as well, Dual gameplay with 3D Glasses, comes with magic remote etc.
Picture quality was decent enough in store and was comparable instead better than the UA42H6400.

    • It looks good. For me the biggest selling point was the Quad Core processor that makes the "Smart" features usable. Otherwise the older Smart TV's I have used are dead slow. The interface on the Samsung is better too. I guess its a personal choice.

    • You do get an extra 2 glasses (that will be used once and then ignored) and the Dual input but you lose out on the extra hdmi port. With how flimsy HDMI(physically and electronically) ports are these days I'd rather have an extra so I don't need to unplug and replug ever.

      • Fair enough. I will be using all 4 HDMI ports. PS3, PS4, FetchTV and PC.

Yeah me too don't ever wanna unplug the ps3 those things are notorious for the hdmi breaking for no reason.
Want to do ps3,pc, chrome cast, other console.

Also I'd rather just have a dumb screen with 4 ports but it seems if you go dumb tv you only get 2 hdmi ports when comes to Samsung at least from what seen.

    Price is now $760.

  • How does the warranty work if the item is faulty? Do we need to send it back to Goodguys warehouse or can we drop it off at nearest store?

    • My order was processed and delivered by my local store so I guess it is the same as buying from them.

  • It looks like the price was increased to $898. So $798 after discount plus an extra $30 for shipping. Cheaper to just buy this in store.

    • Its $50 for country areas so I didn't put that in the price.

  • Arranged for pickup, saved me $30 :)
EDIT: just got a call back and they said it has to be delivered :(.

    • I was told the same. My local store is walking distance (3mins) . I could put it on a trolley and bring it home :D but You have to pay shipping.

  • Looks like the price has gone up and is now the same as the other retailers.

    • Just called my local Goodguys, and they told me that they could sell the samsung for $760 today. Online + Ebay prices were taken up, but instore the discount should still be good till tonight.

Also went into my local JBHifi, and they said they might be able to do $760 on the LG and Samsung, but that was pending manager approval.

      • Its still good value as this TV has a street value of $850+tax in US. I had not seen it in real life but when I saw that price I jumped on it fearing it might only be a temporary thing.

I am very happy with the TV. The Smart TV feature is flawless and snappy. The only gripe is the VEVO app stops playing the video after 19 seconds if i manually choose the video. VEVO TV works fine but picture is SD quality.

PS did anyone get the full sized remote too? Its there is all the unboxings but not in the box. Looks like Australia is only getting 1 remote.
