Coles had these for $49 last time I was shopping.

This tablet is absolutely awful. It only has 512 MB of RAM and runs like a dog (when it actually runs)

    Not even worth $20 IMHO!

Be fair: it comes 'with Google play'

    • No, it has 1gb of ram. My 10.1 version which I also got for $49 is working fine, TFT screen is it's only let down but considering the price great value.

Which specs are you looking at?

According to Pendo themselves, it only had 512MB of RAM:
        http://shop.pendo.com.au/index.php/products/tablets-1/previo…

        • I stand corrected, my 10.1 has 1GB of RAM. Although there has been several of the 7" deals posted recently and I'm pretty sure one of them had 1GB of RAM unless it was typo.

        • @adr8: Yep, IIRC the quad core with kitkat has 1GB of RAM…well, at least according to the specs on the box at Coles…I think it was ~$79 at the time.

  • These were in office works on the weekend for $49

Bought this for $49 from Coles not long ago. Waiting for it to fail enough so I can return it.

Only got it to use it with youtube and chromecast and it does not even work as it is meant to.

  • I have one of these (10 inch version though), and personally I've found it to be great value for money. I use it as a media player (cause it has an HDMI-out/ can play all downloaded video formats unlike my DVD player; not sure if this one has HDMI-out?), an ebook reader (it can be used to read all the free "kindle" ebooks TA kindly posts here on OzB), and a web-browser. Of course it's no "iPad" (i.e. re parameters like charge-duration, screen quality, RAM) but it's a fraction of the cost; so you would not expect it to be.
The fact is not everyone needs the features that come with tablets that cost hundreds and hundreds of $.
Here's a tip if you want something to use as an ebook reader for long reading sessions at night… a single charge will last the whole night (6 hours+) if you turn off the WIFI and turn the brightness down a bit (full brightness is way too bright in a dark room/ night time anyway).

EDIT: Do see the post below though; obviously $49 is way better!

    cheaper at coles.

pay a bit more for quad core…… i think it was 49 as well , normal special - 79 at coles

    • yes, but its not the number of cores that matters. Its the better RAM and battery life on that model.
