WHITE LG G3 16GB $396.93 + Shipping @ ShoppingSquare

680

edit: price changed guys. Thanks mod.
Delivery is $38.95 for me, so total can come to $435.88. Spotted as I skimmed through the specials they're doing for their MEGA phone sale. Only the white is priced this low, blacks just above $100 more (and golds just too much). This indicates possible pricing error? Best get in quick for a shot.
Anyway hella cheap for anyone on the market for a g3 and are non fussed on colour or this 2GB ram / 16GB model.

Now that's we call good price…

    Memory 16GB version: 2GB RAM / 16GB ROM or 32GB version: 3GB RAM / 32GB version
    MicroSD (up to 2TB)

    Woah…

    • Errors everywhere…

      • Apparently it DOES support 2TB MicroSD, for when it exists just how Windows 8 Pro supports 512GB RAM (Windows Server 2012 is 4TB RAM)

  • +3

Have heard the 2GB RAM version is clunky/jumpy because of the lesser RAM, anyone got one who wants to throw in an opinion? I'm very tempted.

    • want to know this too

    • +1

Yeah the 2gb RAM version is prom what I have read, far insuperior to the 3gb ram version.

      • +7

I think the word you were looking for was inferior

        • +13

I guess you could say his choice of words was insuperior to yours…

        • I knew it sounded wrong… Please don't judge me.

      • insuperior should be added to the dictionary

this is word of the day

        believe it or not

        this word actually exists

        http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Insuperior

        Insuperior =
A bullshit word used by fxxx idiots who barely know English. Probably supposed to mean "inferior," but I have no idea why anyone would think "insuperior" is a word.
My ability to speak correctly is insuperior to yours.

        • I didn't sleep last night, please don't judge me.

        • +4

hes not unwrong, hes just an inniceguy

    • It's good enough.

Most other flagships Come with 2 gb. Samsung, Motorola HTC

      • It's NOT good enough, you forgot this phone comes with a QHD display.

        • Oh right, forgot about that…

…but still, have you actually played around with it? I'm betting that it will still perform flawlessly, 3GB or not.

        • @inose:

Got the 2GB. It's smooth. Don't know what everyone else is complaining about.

    • I had the phone for a total of one week. the lag was unbearable you practically had to disable all the features of the phone for it to run smoothly. that or get another launcher, which also disables all your features anyway.

      • why only one week?

so u need 3gb to run it smoothly?

        • I would say yes. The screen itself uses over 500mb of the RAM
zThe memory was always reading critical on the phone, its a very poorly optimised OS

Boy am I tempted, but holy cowabunga I have reservations about giving that much money to Shopping Square.

Love their picture for the phone "QUARD" Core….lol

    • Quard HD man, i am seeing duck.

  • +2

Such a rip off on shipping.

  • +1

Its Pretty good deal.. but waiting time is between 2-3 weeks :(….

    • Damn, don't know if I can hold out that long..

    • +1

site says "For Digital Camera (and Lens), Video Camcorder or Mobile Phone orders" that they qualify for "Direct Shipping" which is 3-7 working days plus "handling time". Is it the handling time that bumps it that high? Or am I missing something

  • I wonder what shopping squares warranty service is like, anyone used it before?

    • I actually have a phone in under warranty at the moment. It's been 21 days already since SS received the phone at their Sydney office. They forward it to either a 3rd party warranty place or the original branded, but yeah it's a long wait….

The phone is only a Samsung Galaxy S3 but still…

    • +14

You've lost the plot. Between the G2 and G3 the LG by far is the best phone I ever bought and I have had the iPhone 3GS, 4, 5 Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, Note 3, and the LG G2, G3.

      • +12

are you running mobile phone shop? :D

        • +21

Nope, just young stupid and can probably never afford a house until the GFC hits Australia one day within the next 100 years so I just sell, and buy new technology.

        • +4

          @Moots: Me too mate :)

        • @Moots:

How long do you switch phones??

My only issue with these types of phones is aftermarket support in a years time.

        • -1

@richmond12: Every 8 months or so usually, depends on the phone and price. Like right now, I want to buy this phone except I have a Note 3 that is less than 5 months old but I absolutely love the G2 / G3 my girlfriend has the G3 and I had the G2 as my previous phone but I dropped it.

But now the misses wants the iPhone 6 Plus(on a plan) to get her credit history up, and because she can't be bothered paying $1000+ in one hit so I'll probs grab her G3 off her when she gets the iPhone.

        • +1

          @Moots:

What is this credit history shit you are talking about? I bought a house a few years ago, you don't need any of that bullshit in Australia, the banks check for bad credit marks, we don't do that paid bills crap that they do in the US afaik (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong), and considering I bought a house without having rented or paying bills or even a car loan (I just bought a cheap car outright) I would think she should be fine.

        • -1

@nmartin84: In a few years a lot has changed. House prices are at an all time high, and because of the GFC in America the banks are not taking any chances when lending large amounts of cash to first home buyers. You either need a decent credit history, starting with a credit card, or a car on finance, but we have a brand new Hyundai i30 outright, I'll soon be buying a new Hyundai ix35 outright, they don't really take these into consideration when applying for a loan. It all comes down to your credit history, your previous work history and for younger people after University there isn't much history besides cafe jobs, and part time whatever to make some extra cash.

        • @Moots:

you, me, and the rest of Gen Y

        • @Moots: @Moots, before buying ix35, I hope you go for a test drive in Mazda CX-5, Ford Kuga and new Nissan Xtrail. I think you will find the ix35 is not in the same class.

        • @billy_bob: That's an interesting topic. How do they compare price for features though BB? I must say one thing I really dislike about the i30 is you can hear the road pretty loud, something I defiantly don't want in a car.

        • @Moots: Features are pretty similar but ix35 is off the pace with engines and ride and handling, which are more important than features in the long term. The cars I mentioned are definitely quiter than ix35. Just go test drive and you will feel the difference.

        • +2

          @Moots:
My wife and me also thought building up a good credit history was good idea. And we got a credit card to build up our credit history. In the meantime we also put money into our savings account. When we talked to the bank about our mortgage options (after 1-2 years credit building), they only cared about our savings pattern and work history. Every expense you have (monthly telephone bill, internet, foxtel, credit card bill, average monthly grocery bill, car loan, entertainment, dining out, etc..) will reduce your borrowing capacity.

https://www.moneysmart.gov.au/tools-and-resources/calculator… is a good tool to estimate your annual budget.

P.S: We have been saving for over 3 years now and got a decent saving for a home. But my gut feeling won't allow me to buy right now with this gloomy economic outlook and sky high house prices. I also don't want to suffer 30 years pain of a mortgage to make some random baby boomer's retirement happy. I am thinking of waiting another 6-12 months would be a good idea as housing prices can (and will) come down big time.

I have been using g2 for the past 9 months. Do you think it's worthwhile for an upgrade to a g3?

    • +3

The G2 is a phone with one the of THE best battery life, ever.
It's also the phone with the highest screen size / body size ratio (if not, one of the top, much much better than HTC and iPhone). Absolutely brilliant phone.

THe LG Nexus 4 and 5, 'represent GOogle and android', and are absolutely brilliant phones too.

You've also got their innovative G FLex too (flexible phone, which won't have the bending problem like the new iPhone 6. ALso has a scratch 'healing' back)

LG = THE best in my book.

      • The Flex is actually pretty bad.

        • It may not have been amazing when it came out, but it's a good phone in my book. It's got better specs than my nexus 4, and my phone's pretty good on it's own.

  • +11

    About time, Thanks iPhone 6.

  • +5

    Oh man, sooo tempted..
Been through Paypal login and back to ShippingSquare's site so all I have to do is click Confirm Now, but I'm not sure I can justify it even though it's a super bargain!

  • +1

Just waiting for the dual sim version

  • I've had mine on the Classifieds for a couple of weeks but no nibbles, which surprises me since they are so popular. Unless it's on the front page I don't think people look.

    • Which classified? Y R U selling

  • -2

I need a four SIM phone

  • Fantastic Handset with ridiculously tempting price but I have my heart set on Moto X or new Nexus. :)

  • They changed the price just now

  • Bugger - too slow $497 now - maybe a pricing error?

  • +1

Price has just gone up. Deals over.

  • 497 seems fixed?

  • it says it is $497.93 on the site. must have been an error before.

… gees by the time I typed this a bunch of you have already done it and reported it. I am slow..

  • -3

Good deal on phone but annoying when price changes

  • +1

I was going to buy it but then I remembered I have no money. Oh well, time to save up for the z3!

  • +1

can someone report back if they do get delivered?

    • +1

Mine was delivered last Monday 13/10. I ordered it just before the price correction and if there hadn't been a paperwork mishap by DHL in China I would have received it sooner. Am thrilled with this phone and getting it for $397 has made the deal even sweeter :)))

      • +2

brilliant, happy the deal worked out for some :D

  • +1

I am so glad I got my LG G3 32gb (D855) for $500 with the recent Ebay sale.

    • Same here man, but I paid $505!

      • Ahh, but with the cash rewards it comes down to $494 :)

  • +3

I got the G3 with recent ebay sale as well. While loving the laser AF, knock code, and buttery smooth flow, I'm not crazy about QHD but "washed out" color. I have 1st gen Moto G with IPS display and in my opinion (and several friends' as well) the display is much better (color wise). And with 3GB ram, i notice that most of the time I only have about 500mb - 1GB RAM free. May be that's why 2GB version is a bit laggy? I'd love to compare G3 with upcoming Nexus X since the spec would be pretty similar.

    • The nexus x will hopefully get atleast a s805, which is a reasonable jump in performance over the s801 with a significantly faster gpu to better handle higher resolutions. My guess the nexus x could be weak in the camera, battery and build quality department, as that tend to be the way with the nexus devices.
