SCA Fire Extinguisher - 1kg $19.67. SuperCheap Auto. (was $38.99)

60

Went into Supercheap today to look around and found this price.

Did a quick search to see if anyone else had posted it and while I found it mentioned by Tonester in the previous super cheap thread I thought it deserved it's own post.

Pity I didn't go in yesterday. Would have been free ($10 credit from the Bathurst celebration + $10 credit from signing up for the store club thing).

  • These sound like a sensible idea, but having driven many many years, having owned many cars, I've never once had one catch fire!

You realise what's going to happen now, right?

Touch wood, touch wood…….Damn, is it too late?

        OK. I'm buying two tomorrow.

You can keep them around the house too.

I've been in a situation where a concave make-up mirror was left close to a window and it concentrated the sun's rays into a focal point at started a fire in the house.

Luckily in my case a bucket of water that went dangerously close to electrical outlets and a number of other factors minimizing the spread of fire were on my side were enough to put it out. Had any small number of variables changed then there would have been a good chance the house would have went down in flames. And extinguisher would have made it somewhat safer.

  • Might be a silly question but are these okay to keep in the car through the heat of summer?
I wouldn't mind leaving one in the boot for emergencies.

  • $13.89 1kg powder @ bunnings: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/163658

  • Some Aldis still have a 1KG powder extinguisher and a fire blanket for $20 or so.
