I wouldn't get CPL to assemble it for you. They put a warranty seal on the case door and you can't open it to clean it without voiding your warranty. If you want to add something later, you have to get them to add it for you. Some places don't do this.

Not like it has any legal standing anyways. Then again CPL do like to encourge disgruntled customers to go to VCAT.

So no buyer protection then (ie credit card or paypal etc).

      Yeah that's bullsh!t.

I report such stickers to the appropriate people in fair trading.

A store has no right to exclude the products original 3 year hardware warranty, nor can they escape their requirements to warrant faults or repairs both THEY and YOU agreed to when processing your Contract (of sale).

In fact, I've often questioned the morality (and possibly law) of 'stickering' someone elses computer. I'm not allowed to bumper sticker your car, or your house… It makes me wonder why computers are excluded from that law; It falls under vandalism.

Regarding the deal; Free assembly is free assembly. If you like their hardware prices and its convenient; deal.

    • I don't see the loss, build it yourself and you have no labour warranty, let them build it and at least you have warranty until you choose to upgrade.

if you're 100% happy with config for life of pc, great, but what if you wanted to go to a SSD or better graphics card, are they going to charge you extra? would be good if they included say 1 free labour upgrade with each assembled pc

      • For me it's the principle behind it. They think you're a noob and can't be trusted to open your own case. If it's free and you don't mind, go for it.

There's no way I'd pay the $70 they normally charge for it though.

Why do they use a flat head screwdriver instead of a phillips ???

But I was told I cant so its a misleading title!!

Try something like Bonus Zero cost assembly with the purchase of system parts!

Buy 10 (parts) get 1 free (assembly) perhaps.

Well, Cpl is like a pop up sale store. If you are happy with your purchase and never going back there for anything then good bargain for you. If you have to go back for any kind of servicing…oh dear…may god be with ya.
