  • Is it $39 less $10 coupon = $29?? Confused by description.

Also what model is the charger? Panasonic CQ-CC16?

Ugh, the one time I'm looking for a decent Eneloop charger and it's COTD. Looks like I go back to waiting.

    • it's COTD

This deal is brought to you by Dick Smith

      :)

      • Wow that's even worse.

    La Crosse is better charger

    • Yeah the included charger is rubbish, $29 for 4 x AA is poor value IMO, I've never paid over $20 for 8 of them.

I'd suggest people save their money for a proper charger, then buy the battery-only deals.

      • how is it rubbish or la crosse better?

        • I recall reading some time ago on the CandlePowerForums (www.candlepowerforums.com)
Those guys review batteries and chargers like nobody else. I can find links later if you like.

As for La Crosse, I think it's generally accepted they are a great charger. I shouldn't have to cite evidence for that but will if desired. I love my La Crosse charger but each to their own.

My intention wasn't to rubbish your deal, I could have worded my thoughts better with hind site…

        • Yeah, not quite. The slow charger is the dumb charger and a problematic device, this one is a smart charger and as good as anything available to charge AA and AAA.

        • @Click_It: no worries - i understand that la crosse (and maha) are meant to be good but was just wondering why and how they compare against this one here re value-for-money :)

  • I was tempted but $39.98 is not a bargain and the voucher has too many conditions and I have to buy something.

The hunt for a smart charger continues
