        • Oh, it looks like the discount gets applied automatically..

        • @gerard48:

What discount. Normally they'll send out the $10 vouchers later on so you can't use on the same item right?

        • +2

          @LaProblematique:

I was waiting for a $10 code as mentioned above after using the referral link after the first purchase

But when I put an item in my cart. There was a $10 discount added

        • @gerard48:

Ah yeah the referalls are pretty much a 5 minute job.

Can someone confirm the $10 vouchers get sent out via email later on? Or are they mailed out?

        • @gerard48:

          Yep, it's automatic.

        • @LaProblematique:

on the banner page it says voucher sent out by 17/10

  • These or hobby king

    • Are the Turnigy back in stock here?

  • Discount on the quick charger too, so I picked up one in addition.

  • Bought another pack of AA and AAA. 2x8 for $20 is too hard to resist. Already have a La Crosse charger from Amazon

I think I finally have enough Eneloops to last me a lifetime.

  • 16xAA and 8xAAA for $25…not too bad! :)

not as good as the 32xAA for $20 pricing error (that some people were lucky enough to receive), nor the 20xAA+charger for $20 deal…but i missed both of those, so this will have to do!

    • Lies, how 16+8 for $25?

      • well, technically my brother bought two of them…;)

      • Use 2 accounts. Use your existing account as a referrer to the new account. Then buy an item full price using the new account and get $10 voucher on both accounts

        • hah nice

  • I get: "Referral code has been exhausted"

    • +2

Click on the 'random' link in the grey box above where it says 'Referral Links'. I did that and it worked :-)

  • 8xAA, 8xAAA, 1xQuickCharger+4xAA = $69.94 & DELIVERED.

DONE, but …. where's the catch!?

  • Is there any issue with having these batteries but not using/charging them frequently?

Will their capacity reduce over time quicker if they just stayed in the packet waiting to be used?

  • Looks like COTD is getting ready to pull this deal…..it now says it expires in 5 minutes and counting.\

Edit: Scrap that, it just says 59 mins countdown.

  • Damn. Just missed out.

Had them in the cart and now sold out.

I got my $20 voucher from previous offer in the email earlier this afternoon, just in time to buy two packets of AA eneloops for under $10…WOOT!

    Thanks OP!

  • AA's ran out of stock before i got home (was going to order other stuff until i noticed you still have to pay shipping) but i managed to get some AAA's and when i went to pay it already showed a $10 credit so it came down to $4.95 or whatever does that mean i will still get another $10 voucher?

  • 16 x AAA Eneloops for less than $20 (with a $10 voucher to follow)…thanks OP!

  • +7
  • Thank you OP! Just ordered 16 AA for $20! Winning!!

  • My first Eneloops! Thanks, looking forward

  • Is it 1 voucher only for each account? Will I get 2 vouchers if i order separately?

    • One voucher per item purchased. My understanding is if u buy 5 in one transaction u get five $10 vouchers.

      • I am not so sure. I only wanted one pack of AA.I had a hiccup when paypal handed me back to COTD and the dreaded page cannot be displayed came up.When i refreshed the page COTD told me that paypal has not succeeded and to use credit card or try later. Hence i paid via a credit card. Well guess what now COTD shows 2 different transactions and i have ended up buying 2 packs of AA albeit in seperate transactions. Unfortunately the second transaction shows full price of 15$ and first transaction of 5$. Oh well its still a good price anyway and i will get my referrer 10$ later.

  • +1

Thanks OP. referral linky got me 16 batteries for $20
    Happy Daze !!

What's the big deal with Eneloop? Seriously. Why not buy the cheap German batteries from bunnings for half the price? Are they rechargeable, green, do they make your breakfast for you… What's the appeal? Why do OBers love them so much??

    • +5

      Get out

      • -3

Strange response to a fair question.

        • fair question? oh please. you don't even need to take the painstaking effort click on the link to realise that these are rechargeable batteries.

and i find it funny you take exception to muncan's confrontational response to your own confrontational comment

        • -3

          @tdw:
Ok so they're rechargeable. Yep you're right I could have found that out myself, not so hard. But it still doesn't explain how they are different from any other rechargeable battery on the market and why OB'ers go nuts about them. That's what I was hoping to discover.

BTW, how on earth was my original comment confrontational? I simply asked what makes these batteries better than others. Honestly if you took offense then I'd suggest you are a tad over-sensitive.

        • @stuckster:
Basically, It's like buying a Mercedes at Commodore prices when they're on special!
They are rated as one of the best LSD rechargeable batteries on the market with proven performance and reliability (hence the Merc reference).

    • please hand in your ozbargain membership….

    • Rechargeable NiMH batteries, For AA they are rated at 2 Amp, Good Brand,
At a touch over a dollar each pretty good value.

      • -2

Thanks. Was thinking I might not actually get a helpful response.

    • Pity there isn't a deal on an excavator to get that sand out from wherever it's stuck…

      • Wow, you really did get quite butt hurt didn't you.

        • as did you, or you wouldn't have bothered responding ;)

i don't pass up the opportunity to make a pun

  • Referrer code of OP is exhausted. Another wants to refer me?

    • sent you a PM

  • Got some AAA , thanks OP

  • Thanks OP, ordered 2X8AA and 8AAA for $25

  • How good a deal are these compared to buying elsewhere?i recently purchased a new camera and it uses aa' batteries so I'm looking for a charger and I believe the quick charger is the one to get?
I see that masters had a deal with this charger which is now ended grrr.
And I hear there is the new Panasonic quick charger with batteries which is the newer model.
I was going to buy the one on catch of the day yesterday and as I'm a new customer would probably end up with the $10 back but is this charger still not expensive?
The camera was on a good deal and to be honest buying chargers and maybe these batteries would be adding to its cost.
As much as they are handy to have I really would just want them for camera.
Is the quick charger a good deal or even these batteries

  • Just sign up and got a email saying I will get $10 on the next purchase. So how I apply this?

Guys is there a code I need to enter for the $10 discount?

    • +2

you get the $10 Credit AFTER you make a purchase. so if you were wanting 2 packs you would have to buy 1st at full price $15. then you could buy another pack for $5 by using the $10 credit

      • Thanks. That work

  • Just ordered another stack of AAs using referral code. got my $10 Store Credit for next purchase which I used for a batch of AAAs. Probably should have created a 2nd account and ping ponged.

  • +2

It may say COTD but it's actually Dick Smith. You're not actually buying it from COTD themselves. Just for those who mistakenly might think that COTD is the supplier. It's Dick Smith that's offering free shipping. COTD is only acting an a middle man agent for Dick Smith.

"This deal is brought to you by Dick Smith"

"1. These products are sold for and on behalf of Dick Smith Electronics Pty Limited (ABN 34 000 908 716) (“Dick Smith”). Dick Smith is the supplier of the goods."

  • Thanks OP! I don't think I'll ever be able to beat this eneloop deal. 16 AAs for $20 delivered. Bragging rights forever!

    • Comes nowhere near what people were getting in this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/136121

32 x AA Rouge Batteries with 2 x Eneloop Standard Chargers for $34.91 (that's 40 AA batteries all up!)

      • +1

Hectic deal!! That's outrageously cheap, but to be fair, it looked like a pricing error, as DSE modified the description shortly after deal was posted. Still, bummed I missed out. I'll still brag, but not in front of an ozbargainer haha.

        • +1

May have been but they honoured the deal.

      • +1

32x AA for $19.92 (coupon code error) was better, if you don't need the chargers. $4.98 per pack (for 4 or more packs)!

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/158906

        • Forgot that one. They canceled my order on that deal.

        • @unity1:

          Mine too. :(

For those that were lucky, that must have been the cheapest per battery ever!

        • +1

"32x AA for $19.92 (coupon code error) was better…"

Well that sort of depends how much you value COTD-credit/ consider it akin to cash. With this deal that just ended, if you referred your (ahem) friend, who opened a new account with COTD then bought 1 pack of eneloops, then you got $10 credit for the referral, your (cough) friend got $10 credit for "being referred"/opening a new account, AND your (erm) friend also will get the $10 voucher, AND of course the eneloops.
SO, $20 COTD credit AND a $10 COTD voucher AND 8x eneloops, all for an outlay of $15. I'm amazed the deal lasted so long.

        • @GnarlyKnuckles:

          Yeah true.

        • @GnarlyKnuckles:

$20 COTD credit AND a $10 COTD voucher AND 8x eneloops, all for an outlay of $15.

          or 3x 8pk eneloops + 2x $10 cotd vouchers = $24.94 :)

  • +1

    Sold out now lads.

  • +1

Far out man, all the packs I ordered on the first day just arrived, and I haven't even cleared enough space in the spare-room for them yet. That's quick! And just when I was starting to worry that it may all be too good to be true (think "EziBuy", "HelloFresh", etc.) … anyways, it seems like there'll not be any cancelled orders here lads! It's all systems go!

    • aha, so how many "friends" did you invite to purchase eneloops? ;)

i don't really buy many things from COTD, so was too risk averse to having lots of "friends" with COTD credit…

      • Chuckle, it's not as "Brodeny" as it sounds capri, I actually ordered all the extras on behalf of actual relatives of mine. I even consulted most (though not all) of them first!
Thanks a million for this one OP, it's definitely worked out to be one of the best posts ever, for me. I did throw my first referral your way btw, but after that 1st order my "evil twin" took over…

    • They were very fast to post them out, didn't even have time to tell my brother about the order of 2 packs that will be sent to his address.

I went a bit crazy and got 7 packs (I had a few packs beforehand), including a pack of AAA. My 5th order didn't seem to go thru, for some reason.

I'll give a pack to my Brother, but might sell a pack or two on ebay.

      Thanks a billion OP

  • Just got my one set too in MEL, looks better in the flesh than on the picture. Now thinking I should have gotten another.

  • +2

Yep, my batteries arrived today. And my goodies from the referral credit. Thanks guys!

    • Thanks op for the great deal. Also Just wondering, how much referral credit you got? :)

      • OP used 9 different referral links. Possibly made $100s but I don't expect the OP to divulge such personal information.

  • did you guys receive them through Star Trak?
I got an SMS saying attempted delivery through StarTrack from DICK SMITH…?!

    • +1

Yes, via Startrack from Dick Smith.

    • "did you guys receive them through Star Trak?"

I didn't see the truck/ notice the uniform g-48, but the envelopes mine were (hand) delivered in don't mention Star Trak, only "mail.jiffymailers.com"… but that may be just the brand of the padded envelopes?

  • yep got the goodies

    Thanks OP

  • +1

Am surprised at the speed. only had confirmation email from COTD no delivery note.

made in August 2014, model on pack BK-3MCCE/8CT

    looks like its model
    4th Generation Eneloop AA: BK-3MCC 2100cycels Min.1900mAh

    from budgetlight forums

    • Yes, we knew the recent Chocolats from DS are 4th Gen Chinese made!

      • usually with ozbargain i don't know what i'm buying but i'll know when i get it!

        • Some interesting info regarding the change from sanyo to panasonic.

          http://www.masterinstruments.com.au/files/news/eneloop_re_br…

        • @techno2000:
Nice little guide for noobs on the packaging maybe, but it doesn't have any bench testing between the Jap & Chinese models. Waiting for someone to come out with some actual physical data! Also doesn't go into any detail about the line up of new chargers!

  • +1

mine just arrived in perth. same bubble mailer packaging as the ones i ordered directly from DS.

now, to store these in a cool, dark place with my lindt chocolate stash..

  • Received mine today. 8 AA and 8 AAA.

  • Also received mine today and I live out country now! (Takes a week to express post something from here that they don't even bother offering it at the post office)… Very happy!

  • Got my battery today, anyone got the $10 voucher yet?

    • nope

      • +1

Nope… they promised we'd get it by tomorrow though… so we'll see.

  • +1

The T&C's said the codes would be sent via email by 17/10 and must be used by 13/11. Must be redeemed in one transaction and can't be used towards shipping costs.

Will be interesting to see if you get a $10 voucher per account, or per product, or by item ie. whether you will receive $20 or $10 if you ordered 2 x AA etc.

    • "Will be interesting to see if you get a $10 voucher per account, or per product, or by item…"

Aye Sparks, it will be interesting. Their site clearly said "per item", but I'm guessing that what they meant was "per transaction"… we'll see. And if they only provide 1 voucher per transaction, I imagine that will provoke quite a "rage-storm" from some peeps here at OB, who bought 5 packs in one transaction, expecting 5 vouchers. The suspense is killing me.

      • +2

I contacted live support after I had placed my order. They told me if I ordered 5 Packs of the Eneloop AA batteries in one order that I should recieve 5 vouchers. Have it in writing too.

        • Awesome man, I applaud your foresight! I reckon this info will put many OzBers at ease! Particularly the fact that you have it in writing. Seriously (and I'm almost never serious on this site), well done.

        • I wonder if it'll be that you can only use one voucher per order? Either way, we'll just have to use them on a free shipping day!

  • +1

Multiple vouchers received. Actually 1 voucher to be used multiple times.

    • The multiples is how many items/batteries you ordered per account, (which in this case was maxed at 5 each for AA or AAA).
I got 1 code for 5 packs (5 uses), than other for 2 packs/diff account (2 uses) for the 7 packs in total that I ordered.

P.S Now I just need a Eneloop smart/quick charger for my brother, does anyone know if there are any deals on these, I should have gotten another one when Masters had their sale on them at $20? (NC-MQR 06W).

Am I right in saying there is 2 versions of these (sanyo or panasonic)?

I'm still surprised how much stock of these they/DS had. They must have had a ship load full of them, with all these deals from DS and then COTD. I was thinking this deal on COTD would end in tears for peeps that missed out.

We need to keep an eye on COTD prices, in case they jack up prices/postage on items.
Cheers for all the helpful commits on this deal.

  • +1

Can confirm vouchers received at per item. Now to work out what to "buy". Post your ideas for good value here!

    • +2

Problem is only one voucher per transaction. Will become expensive for those that have to pay the shipping for each individual order.
