  • Great price for an ultrabook of this size and specs. We use these at work. Light weight and vey portable. Only downer is the screen res :(

  • Everything apart from laptops are moving on to 1440p and 4000k..

    bizarre

  • just a second hand laptop, why has so many misleading name: refurbished, as new, brand new condition.

The 'As New' laptops are actually brand new. It is not second hand. The refurbished models are ones that have been returned by customers and have been reimaged. I got the refurbished version of the E7240. Looked brand new and only cost $699. That is a bargain for a laptop which sells for around $2500.

      • If they were new they would say new. Perhaps they were returned due to change of mind but nothing was actually wrong with them.

        • According to the FAQ…

Pre-configured new systems are notebook and desktop computers and enterprise products that have never been used by an end user but may have been reconfigured by Dell. Dell pre-configured new systems do not have any cosmetic damage.

So most likely, they were ordered by the customer, built, sent off but then the customer cancelled their order so Dell is now selling them off to get rid of them.

I think this sells for $3099 as brand new.

  • Still waiting for a top spec E7440 to appear in DFO.

  • These are beautiful notebooks, and the design is much improved over the E6xxx series (which were also quality units).
They also support the standard Dell Pr02x port replicator, for those who like to dock/undock quickly. Can get these docks second hand off eBay for around $60 or so. The replicator has heaps of ports, including 2xDVI, 2xDP, serial, parallel, VGA, NIC, eSATA, at least 5xUSB2.0, PS/2 for mouse & kb. There is also an upgraded model of this replicator that has USB3.0 ports.

    Add to Cons:
    - Intel Integrated HD 4400 Graphics

A $1000 laptop and you still can't game on it :(

In fairness, the only times you generally see the words "Latitude" and "Gaming" in the same sentence is when that sentence is "Latitude laptops are not designed for gaming" - they are corporate grade machines after all.
