I had the W520, its a big ass laptop.
A good desktop replacement, I wouldn't want to be carrying it around the airport…

Obligatory "Never forgive, never forget LAMEOVO" post.

    Old laptop… not a barging.

      Not so Clever are you….

      • Not as much as you Shiar

          whoosh…?

  • Yes OLD model, no bargain

  • Bought a similar yet older tech spec Lenovo 2.5 yes ago for work. Use it 6 days/week usually 10 hours a day average. Works great and no probs, touch wood.

How they can expect to sell this old laptop at that price…

  • +2

How is this even a bargain???

I think you guys are missing the part where it's a "NVIDIA Quadro K1000M" equipped computer, this is purely a professional PC that ages differently to the consumer stuff, also it's original price would have been quite high.

Pretty much this… lots of people running their mouths off and negging, not knowing how expensive quadro/firepro gpu's are.

Typical OzB, where if a deal doesn't apply to you, it can't be a bargain.

These are workstation class machines. I still use a W510 for AutoCAD with no issues.
Add a SSD and double the RAM and this will compete with most machines in its class.

If the Laptop does not give you Hernia, the power adaptor will!

Dual core meaning higher utilization, more heat, old architecture…good thing it has that 9 cell battery.

I'd jump at $700 but even then I am sure to could find a sub $1000 quad core 4th Gen.

Ozbargain can be a harsh place sometimes. Thankyou maxall for your post. As someone who has purchased a few of these in the past, this appears to be a reasonable price. Yes it is an old model but its a business grade workhorse for cad work.

If it's not a bargain for you then don't upvote it. Neg's should be used sparingly. No need to shoot someone down in flames.

  • After some searching the screen on this could actually be OK with good colour gamut and viewing angles even though it is non-IPS. I am surprised! The old dual-core processor pretty much kills it for me though.

  • Can someone post some links of better buys please ?
