It's a real shame too, because some of the DS foods (like the beetroot) are head & shoulders above the competitors.
DSE and dicksmith is not related for a long long time……. he tried to remove his name from the electronic store for many years, as his reputation affected by DSE
Scam from DSE to get all your money to earn interest.
the last one I send email asking for support, no reply for 2 weeks. Lodge dispute, no reply. escalate to claim and got my money back.For arguments sake lets say 500 people managed to pay their $10 = $5000
Say they have at 4% p.a that is $200 p.a
If they hold your money for 5 days that is a whopping interest of $2.74 (before tax).for arguments sake, normally it's more than 500 who pays and only 500 people who gets
in business world, extra 1 dollar allow you to borrow 5 dollars of liquidity. by doing that every now and then makes good profit and borrowings.
and some dude just simply forgot to dispute back the money.
Negging for same reasons. This is less of a deal than a speculative bet for the chance at a negligble discount. Only a bargain if you don't value your time.
The deal is only good when DSE sends out the email at the last minute, not well in advance. I also could not get a single gift card today, and instead ended up with, 4 failed paypal transactions (disputes lodged) and 1 invalid credit card authorization (hopefully, it clears out automatically).
This is awfully like 2 times ago when they did this, the code didn't work until 15 past, then it said it was $5 but many off us were charged the full price.
How long does it usually take to get the gift card?
I don't know about usually, but I received mine after 6 days from the previous deal.
well i got 2 receipts from paypal, 0 from dicky, lets see what happens.
Nothing will happpen. You will never hear from dick. You need to raise a dispute after few days.

Here’s how they seem to operate:
1500 sales of $10 card for $10 via PayPal or Credit Card = $7500
Honour say 300 -$3000
Hold money until customer disputes say average 15days for 60% off people (the rest forget or don’t dispute)
60% of 1200 = 720 x $5 = -$3600 (Interest at 4% is $6 (ignored), Undisputed is $2400)So $7500 -$3000 -$3600 = $900 Profit + Profit on $3000 of gift card say $1500 (on average 30% never gets used ($900) then 30% profit on the rest $630 = $1530)
Total Profit is $2400-$2500 for what is meant to be a loss leader deal – Not Bad ! Repeat 3 times a week $7500 a week/$390K a year !

Dicksmith need to stop doing promos that their systems can't handle.
My credit card is now showing 3 transactions. 2 x for $5 and 1 x for $10 but their website account page is only showing the order that went through at $10. Don't know where the other 2 orders that they've charged are…During the previous promotion, it took 11-12 days for two pending $5 transactions to disappear off my cc. I didn't get a gift card.

What a joke. Rang Dick Smith customer service because I had no response to email and I was told if I have no order number from them there is no way I have been charged. I told them I had pay pal confirmation but they say there is no way I could have been charged without a confirmation from them. I asked them if I had to lodge a dispute with pay pal to get my money back and they say they do not have the money. Imagine how much they will make if people believe this.
I lodged a Paypal dispute few days ago and got my money back. No calls or emails from "dicks" whatsoever. Never buying online from dicks again!
They are Homemaker branded ones from a recent sale.
My order says complete but no gift card/ order confirmation received.
Send them a message on Facebook. They got someone to call me back and sorted it out for me.

Nothing today. Should hopefully receive them tomorrow.
Got an invoice today for the GC but nothing else.
Same, received the invoice yesterday, but just checked my email and the gift card has finally arrived.
Yep, just got my 4 I was charged for even though they were from the same account. I emailed them this morning asking what was going on.
So did anyone who got order acknowledgements receive their cards yet? Still nothing for me yet.
I contacted them on facebook and they said they would look into it, a day later I contacted them again and they requested more information which I sent to them, it's no apparently escalated.
Nothing, I got the invoice apparantly it's being posted but no postage advice received,which is odd as its a digital giftcard.
My $10 worth of Dick arrived today, most unexpected!
I only received yesterday 1 out of my 5 that I was able to purchase.
I still haven't got mine either. On hold with customer center now… let's see what happens.

I got my GC, paypal payment went through at the time of sale but no invoice.
Asked on FB what would happen and the rep said I'd get a refund.
Went to resolution centre, told them what happened and said I'd be getting a refund but would be happy if the order was fulfilled.Invoice and the GC arrived together :)
Finally got my invoice emailed to me, now to wait for the gift card.

I got mine but what a hassle to save $5, never again. More for the rest of you.
Well I have no idea what happened but I've just been refunded 2 of my gift card payments through PayPal even though I had the 4 I was charged for sent yesterday.
I'm certainly not complaining and I'll take the refund as compensation for all the stuffing around Dick puts us through….week-in-week-out!!
