  • Is this Panasonic TV as good as the Sony KDL50W700B you post last time, Trent? This one is 100 less, seems to be a great deal…

    • +1

Yeah pretty much the same ay the Panasonic has 100HZ and all the other basic needs the Sony one has

      • The Panasonic does not have internet connection options according to DS, would be nice if wifi is built in…

          Buy a chromecast for $40

You can't just look at specs and say they're the same. The Sony is much, much better.

Better picture in general, much better with fast moving images (despite how the specs compare), low input lag for gaming.

Sadly Panasonic LCD's are really at the bottom of the scale, not much better than the real budget brands. Fine if they are cheap and you don't require the absolute best but when the price is so similar to something so much better, it's not worth it.

        Harsh but true.

  • Hey folks,

Anyone find a review or two for the 65' seiki?

I have a LG 50PZ950-TA plasma and want to upsize but don't want to find the seiki is not up to the job.

Smart tv stuff is all covered by Chromecast so i don't care about inbuilt smart tv features
Action sport is important and action movies both streamed and Bluray.

Definitely a bargain - but is it a good unit?

    • Easiest thing you can do is look back on the seiki tv deals and people have been commenting on the quality in the comments section. Apparently it's a pretty good TV for price but go read some comments :)

      • Thanks TRENT86 and other fellow ozbarginers. I will have a look at the comments from previous links.

ps. Motion blur would be awefull at that size i would imagine.

    • I suggest just looking at LCD's in general in stores. Going from a plasma is going to be a big change for you. Your free to air tv looks worse on LCD, fast movement likewise. Both will be more apparent by the big jump in size as well.

I would wait for the 4K tv for the same price next year rather than upgrade it again later.

      • Even next year the 4K will be useless, maybe in 2 years time there might actually be something to watch in 4K

        • possibly, might be ok to use it as a monitor.

    • Seems 'alot' of people have purchased these however yet to see one positive review with pictures and so forth. where's the OZB helpfulness here.

Held off on this one since before the Ebay deal simply due to its 'Great' review.

Can anyone that has bought one post a helpful review?

      • read above there is a link to some comments

  • Very Tempting.
    SEIKI 65" was $737 before: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/161330
    SEIKI 55" no stock/deal?

    • Don't Think they don't sell the 55 anymore

  • Picked up the Dick Smith 54.5" tv for my girlfriends house for $539 with a code (expired now) thinking I would have to return it due to being rubbish, but it's actually not too bad (my normal TV is a Panasonic VT50). Keep an eye out for it.
