    791 with the BDAY voucher

    • Doesnt work.

"Coupon conditions have not been met."

      • Does it work with the wild card deals?

      • BDAY voucher works for me. Maybe you have used it 3 times? I have been saving it for todays sales. Works with the Sony TV deal which is a wildcard offer.

        • I've used it zero times as I never bought from COTD for over 2 years.

      • So long as you were a Catch customer before Oct 25 the coupon code should work - even on Wildcard items. If you meet this criteria and are experiencing difficulty, please contact our help centre who will do their best to help out: https://helpcentre.catchoftheday.com.au/hc/en-us

        • Same thing happened to me. Coupon wouldn't work. I bought the TV, but disappointed about the coupon.

        • how long am i supposed to wait before i get a reply? been 2 days now..

Trent the TV man! Come and comment pls, is this a good deal?
Seems pretty good for a Sony.

    • +11

Great price!! Lowest it's ever been, I think it's 100hz too

      • +4

The US version is 120Hz but the Australian version is 100Hz

Don't you think it's worth to buy it?Especially when the chromecast published now.
I'm wondering if the Smart TV is worth to buy it or not?
Plus the Smart TV isn't customizeable since it's already built-in in the TV.

Do you think it's worth to buy Japanese / Korean (LG) Brand TV with same Screen-Quality BUt without any Smart-TV feature? Perhaps it would be a bit cheaper like 650 AUD and you can top it up with chrome cast which is 31 AUD = 681 AUD.

Note: ChromeCast + BDAY coupon is 31 AUD delivered.

        • Good idea in theory but what TV is as good as this Sony for $650?

        • @dan76n:

          idk, just giving some thought.
Perhaps there is another TV with quality like this screen without the Smart TV feature. Perhaps cheaper…

Anyway when chromecast published, most of the smart TV feature will be useless. It's like you pay more but you never use that Smart Feature. What do you think?

        • @rodinthink: Have you used a Chromecast? It's not exactly a smart TV replacement.

      • Depending what you watch, 100hz doesn't really mean anything without explaining it.
It just shows you have fallen for marketing hype.

  • no op referral link? :)

Not a dupe but a post definitely aimed at the lowest common denominator. I guess I know what will be posted every hour until the end of the day…

the down side is no 3D,
    I've got 2TB 3D movie

    • where do you get them from bud…

i find that i dont even use my 3D function on my TV, shame.

      do you download 3d movies?

      • do you download 3d movies?

kenmizuki isn't boasting about the total of bytes of his purchased Blu-ray collection. Not exactly a prudent thing to do in public forum, though - rule of thumb is that thieves should keep that information confidential.

        • +1

I purchased all blurays. But i copy all of them into my hdd. I hate changing disks all the time. Bluray is so cheap on special.

I would rather to buy digital copy to physical copy.

Thanks to Trent I purchased from DSE for $874 last week (Don't forget to get your $25 rebate from Veet if you live in VIC).
It's an awesome TV with great colour, sharpness & motion. I upgraded from a 10 yr old 32" Sony & boy does it fill the void.
The only difference imo between this & the latest KDL50W800B is that for an extra $601 you get 3D…why would you??
    Get it people…you won't be sorry :)

    • >>BANG<< you got me! Had difficulty locating contrast ratio and I am a bit of a Plasma Sl#t. Thanks LLIVAS.

    GOT IT….THANKS

  • +1

Bought one - thanks OP. I've been waiting fo a deal like this for a while.

  • What happens if they try to deliver something like this and no one is home? Do they take it to nearest LPO or arrange re-delivery? I have no one home Mon-Fri ~8-6

    • +8

Let me know your address and I'll wait to collect it for you ;-)

    • +2

All deliveries are through Aus Post so it's hard for us to say what will happen at your premises, for sure. That said we take customer satisfaction very seriously so if your item gets a funky delivery issue we'll happily chase it up asap and ensure you get it.

  • +5

DAMN!!!! If it was at least 55" and above I would have purchased. Arghh.

Been a Samsung fan for few years, but would have jumped on Sony bandwagon from recommendations made on here and other online reviews.

Have a Samsung 46" 200Hz which i have owned for 3 years (awesome TV) but only looking to upgrade to a bigger size.

    • Same, need something 55+ for the upgrade to be worth it (small man syndrome), otherwise great bargain here…

      • Yep. The Napoleon complex. Lol

        • more like godzilla complex - size does matter LOL

        • -2

          That's what she said!!! LOL

        • @Wazzi80:

you don't need to say that, that's what 'size does matter' is all about. it's got the sexual reference built in.

  • Interesting that COTD are selling on behalf of Dick Smith

  • +1

I bought this bad boy last week for $879 at DS…dammit!!

    Great TV though!!

  • Will the good guys price match this one? It takes 5 - 7 days for delivery from COTD.

    • They don't have any "old stock" of the "old model"…they tried to convince me that Dick Smith were selling re-manufactured units & I would be better off getting the newer 800 model from them…what a load of cods-wallop :)

  • awesome!!! easy choice to upgrade over the broken 40" soniq we have. thanks OP

    • +3

i bet you did that on purpose so can get a new one :D

  • I've received my confirmation email, but also another which says,

"Your order (#Cxxxx) has been placed on hold as our system has flagged your order for further verification. Our Customer Service Team will be completing these verification steps within the next 2 business days to confirm your payment and personal details."

What does this mean? I've bought stuff from them in the past using the same credit card, so what might be the problem now?

    • I received this also after paying via Paypal.

    • i also received the same but paid on credit card. I've changed address since my last order from catch of the day so assumed it may be due to that.

    • +4

Hey guys, all orders over $500 are automatically held and reviewed by our accounts team. That said this process doesn't take long and your order should be on it's way soon!

      • +1

Thanks for clearing that up rep!

    • +1

Thanks, rep. Good to hear it will still turn up!

  • +7
    • Well that's amusing.

  • does anyone know if the tv supports power on over ip? planning a home automation setup with roomie remote

    • +1

Heya, just checked and the TV does not have this feature sorry.

      • thanks for that! what about wake on lan? any ideas? seems to be supported on the w600 and w800.. seems like the feature is called remote start and can be found in settings>network>home network setup> remote start. can any ozbargainers confirm?

  • Just bought one! Been waiting for a deal on Sony's for bedroom TV. Thanks OP.

  • How does this TV compare to the 50" HD screens going on Kogan atm for $550?

    • +1

I would say much better. The Kogan's are OK, not great. These Sony's are great, but not brilliant

      • Cheers. And compared to the 4k Kogans??

  • Never thought I'd buy my 1st flat panel TV from COTD.

  • +2

Bought this TV off Dick Smith 2 days ago for $899 on sale…..not happy at all. Have a big sale, end it and put back to full price, then sell it for $100 cheaper 2 days later? Bad form Dick Smith.

Great TV though. Absolutely fantastic picture quality, and game mode is great. Input lag is non-existant.

  • Hi Rep,

Can you please confirm the dispatch time for this deal? I placed my order and the confirmation email said this is a special delivery and will take 2-4 weeks to dispatch ?!? Isn't it suppose to be 5-7 days as stated in the deal?

    Thank you

    • That's weird! Definitely should be 5-7 days like it says. Can you please contact our help centre? https://helpcentre.catchoftheday.com.au/hc/en-us

      • Hi Rep,

My order number is #12634634, can you help me to have a look at it please?
I think there might be a glitch with the order.

        Thank you

        • Hey there, I can see you've lodged a support ticket - thanks for that. One of our customer service staff will look into this and get in touch with you shortly.

    • COTD's email is confusing, says 2-4 weeks, then 5 days, then 15 days.

  • +1

    Hi Rep,
I would also like a confirmation of this as I really was sold by the fact that I can receive it early too.

    • Should be 5-7 days, did you see something different?

  • Don't you think it's worth to buy it?Especially when the chromecast published now.

    • Personally, I prefer Sony / Samsung for TV nowadays due to their superior image quality and design (used to have panasonic in the shpping list when they still make plasma screens).
Others' quality is not as good when i can see them side by side. Well that is just my personal opinion anyway :)

      • Wish there is a web like amazon.com where there are items reviews and rating, so we can judge the quality of that item compared to the price.
THis might be the resolution for people to not be bias / prejudice about a brand but rather the quality-durability-comfortability of product no matter what brand it is.

    • Even if it wasn't a "smart" tv it's an absolutely fantastic tv for the price.

      • Not only fantastic, it is impossible. I Agree with you that this price is the lowest ever.
ACtually I checked the taobao.com / Tmall Chinese Retail Web which is famous with their UNBEATABLE price. Guess what? they sell it 907 AUD as the cheapest price not included with shipping

And also there is some more fun fact: I presumed that most of the seller / store in the Chinese web are the manufacturer themselves. So this deal is quite frenzy and RaRe

Anyway, as an tightArse man, I always wondered , why you pay more for something that you won't use (if you buy chromecast or other similiar products) ? But that's me , I'm so god damn cheap.

  • This is a SPECIAL ORDER and will take 2-4 weeks to Dispatch. You will receive a further email on Dispatch with a tracking number.

    ???

    • Where did you see that wording?

      • Website states "Special Order - Dispatch in 5 - 7 days", e-mail confirmation says "As per the advertisement in some cases we do have SPECIAL DELIVERIES which will take 2-4 weeks to reach you."

Are special orders and deliveries the same thing?

      • At the bottom of the email, above the "View your detailed order" link.

any reviews on this specific model online ?,
everything seems to point to W800B (even hard to get a side by side with the W800B vs W700B)

    • The W800B is exactly the same as this W700B in every way except it also has 3D. So read reviews of the 800 and just ignore the parts about 3D.

  • Thanks MM :-)

  • what type of mount do ppl recommend to mount this to the wall?

    • From what I've read, the one they supply. It isn't VESA compatible but there are bits and pieces in the box to hang it off the wall.

      • "Using the wall-mountable stand+, only available for W700B (42" and 32") and W800B (50" and 42")""

Can anyone confirm how this can be mounted if its the 50"

        • +1

Bought this tv 2 days ago, can confirm it comes with wall mounting stuff in the box.

  • thanks for this deal. almost bought it off the deal posted by trent a few days ago but another $100 off the tv this time can't resist!

    • All order over $500 are automatically held for review by our accounts team then dispatched once verified. Please hold tight!

  • Wow what an absolute steal at this price! But my god Dicksmith just kicking the shins of their customers by doing this within a few days of their last sale!

  • Has anyone come up with a solution to wall mounting to a full motion mount? Seems like there is a VESA adapter for the w800 version available online but makes no mention of compatibility with this version.

    • If it works with the 800 I'm 99.9999999% sure it will work with this as theyre the same tv, just in 3d and non-3d.

    • Same adapter AFAIK. Only difference between this model and the 800 version is 3D capability.

  • +1

Does this model use the one flick remote?

    • +1

It can use it but according to the Sony website it is an optional extra.

      • Yeh definitely doesn't come with the TV.

      • Okay so this tv supports the one flick remote but it comes with a standard remote. So, if you like the idea of using a one flick remote you can pick one up separately and it will work :)

  • Can anyone please confirm any input lag with ps4?

  • I purchased a 40" Samsung (UA40H6400AW) from JB-HiFi just on 30 Days ago for $770. Now I wish I had waited to get this unit.

Would JB-Hifi Refund my purchase as a change of mind refund? I have all the packaging.

    • +2

      No chance.

  • ALL: check this out as an option too…Hisense K390PAD 50" (same price, possibly cheaper with negotiation) 100Hz

It's getting rave reviews as it's native Android and Google Chrome browser with voice navigation built-in
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…

I really like the Sony deal, but saw the above recently so wanted to share this with you all.
