If you like a particular favor, it is cheaper to just buy 300g of that favor. It cost $33 + free shipping.
    For this deal, (300g = 12 x 25g-bag of unknown favor), 12 x $3 = $36, and it may come with favor you don't like.

    mmmm mystery meat

  • Only problem is that I wanna eat it now…

  • I only got 24grams in my last bag….

  • why so expensive?

    • +2

Aye, Aiyoyo, I agree. Even though agreeing with a question is grammatically dubious.

$3 for 25 grams = a whopping $120 per kilo; about as expensive as dried meat ever gets… and this price, without knowing what flavour/s you will get?

An OzB'er called Lukian compiled an excellent data-set on dried meat a few months back, including prices and informatively described (quite objective) taste-tests. One thing that emerged from that analysis was that a good option for some would be to try Costco:

      "Regular Price (Membership Req’d)
      $35.25 / kg
      $8.99 / 255g
Similar to Jack Links in softness/consistency
Bulgogi - Amazing, sweet. My favourite jerky at the moment.
Beef Jerky - Reasonably peppery. Again similar to Jack Links"

So substantially less than 1/3 the price of these 'mystery' bags, and with no mystery involved.

Another option "dried meat enthusiasts" in Melbourne can utilise at the moment if they know anyone with an AMEX card, is to visit "Gourmet Meats", on Glenferrie road in Hawthorn. Until the end of November, you can effectively pay $10 for ~300 grams of the stuff (i.e. ~$33/kilo), via the 'Shop-Small' scheme, if you pay with AMEX. They sell it for ~$65/kilo, so $20 worth with the $10 statement-credit = $10.
