  • should we use the same CODE from the last time you submitted this deal? I tried it and used my university email as a test and the webpage just went blank.

    • Same thing happened to me in Firefox, worked when I tried it in Chrome.

  • +8

The only reason the other deal was so popular was that it work with hotmail, which is widely available for everyone and anyone.
It is mark as expire because hotmail no longer work.

This deal is sadly nowhere near the awesomeness of the former.

    • +5

Correct, to obtain the same pricing now your work needs to have a relationship with MS. Any place with such an agreement in-place already inform and provide their staff with the necessary program code.

You need both the program code, and the valid email address (domain) it is tied to, in order to take advantage of the HUP.

In our work place you can also purchase MS Project, and MS Visio for $15.

      • +2

I just tried it with my work email address and it worked. Tempted to grab office for my mac now. Surely it is due for an update though being 2014 nearly 2015 now.

        • Office 365 (yearly subscription) is what MS are pushing now.

        • @timmysbiscuits:
office 365 doesnt have nearly as much as what this suite has.

      • @xuqi - is there a link to access Project and Visio?

      • +2

Pro Tip: For those of you who work at larger organisations who give you an email address such as [email protected], your exchange username (e.g. smithj or jsmith) will also resolve to your email and is effectively a second email address e.g. [email protected].

Ergo you can sign up with both these addresses and hence buy two licences :)

  • unsw is not included.

    • Tried student and staff… =(

"We were unable to retrieve your program code at this time and are unable to qualify you with the email domain you have provided."

    • Unsw student here. Tried zmail domain and got the following message
"Congratulations! You may be eligible to purchase! You'll receive an email confirmation in just a moment."

Edit: tried a second time and the error is back. Strange.

I type in my email to try to get my "Program Code" and it just blanks out the upper-right corner of the page so I can't do or type anything.

FYI, I'm both a student and staff member at UQ

    • I'm getting the same result too.

    • Found this: "Staff can obtain software for use at home from http://uqonthehub.com". Nothing really for student though. A bit more expensive too; e.g., Microsoft Office 2013 Pro is $27.85

  • Nup, UWA doesnt work

    • UWA worked for me. Email: …@uwa.edu.au

It refused to work on Firefox though, had to use Chromium.

edit: No program code used as I am not a student :-)

      • Can confirm, UWA staff email worked for me.

With a Department of Education email address (faculty/staff) you can also access more by using the Data#3 link:

    • Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 upgrades (you have to have a base OS installed) for $15
    • Adobe Captivate 8, Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium, Adobe Premiere Elements 12 and Adobe Presenter 10 for $12.25 each
    • -2

"base os" usually means "windows folder" (can be empty), iirc?

    • Do you know which department of education is that for? Doesn't seem to work with @det.nsw.edu.au , nor the deal posted by OP :-(

      • Hmm.. might only be for WA then. What error message do you get?

        • It's saying "The supplied email address cannot be used to register on this website. Please verify that it is correct and is an address that has been issued to you by your institution (e.g. school)."
Must be for certain states only.

    • If you have a NSW det email address, use the online system available thought intranet. No problem buying this (similar price). Also got Adobe Creati Cloud for about $20

      • They are ripped off.

It's $23 for nsw dec staff.

        That's 53% more expensive.

      • Do you have the intranet link for that? Can't seem to find it. Thanks.

    • Family member works for Sydney Uni. We couldn't get your link to work, but searching Google for "Sydney University software discounts" came up with this:

      http://staff.ask.sydney.edu.au/app/answers/detail/a_id/117/~…

which if you follow the steps takes you through to a similar portal, and from there we were able to buy Adobe Creative Suite for $12.25

  • Murdoch student email doesn't work.

  • @live.com.au is working with program code 05383F4FAC.

    Thanks OP

    • +2

      Doesn't work for me :(

    • +1

Used an "@live.com.au" domain. No go on the code for me as well.

    • +1

Nah didnt work with my live.com.au email account?

  • I work for a government department and it works.

    • +1

Just paid $15 and am installing now… Thank you very must to the OP. Best deal i've seen so far from OzBargain.

      :)

      • +23

You must not have been here very long then.

        • I'm still a newbie, but, considering this costs at least $70 and I would have probably not paid for the software, this is a bargain. I see Dick Smith is selling a discounted version, yet this is much cheaper than anything retail.

Anyway, I'm all installed and using it now.

Thank again to the OP… You've made my day.

        • @TightAssDude:I know it costs us $15, but what does it actually cost the organisation you work for? Would much prefer it just work with hotmail or live again

        • @johnno1987: It won't make a difference to your organisation as they get special "bulk licenses" which include the whole organisation and does not limit the number of users (up to a point, I am guessing).

  • University of sydney worked
But the website is getting clogged - so try your luck later.

    • How? It's not working for me.

      • Got it to work with australia as origin.

        • Did you try as a staff member or student? I am getting the "We were unable to retrieve your program code at this time and are unable to qualify you with the email domain you have provided" error using my student @uni.sydney.edu.au email address.

        • @Alaisify: click the dont know your program code link and enter your student email

        • @gawky: I've tried doing that several times. Still getting the same error, for some reason?

  • +1

This looks like you can still get it for free

All NSW Department of Education and Communities students are eligible to download and licence Adobe and Microsoft software from this website.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/130105

  • Awesome my work is eligible - picked one up, thanks.

  • Anyone know if this deal will work again if I got it last financial year? Parents want a copy on their computer as well

    • Nope, one serial per email, I think you can get a copy of each PC and Mac.

  • Works great, installed amazingly fast. License is for two computers btw

    • +1

The install appears to go really fast but the actual install happens in the background and you can see the progress in the system tray if you hover your mouse over the icon for it.

  • Most Australian universities (that are worth their salt) can provide Office to their students for free.
If a Uni student, ask your central IT group.

    • +2

That's only if you're studying IT isn't it? (If you're talking about MSDNAA, otherwise I have no idea what you're talking about).

      • No, it's campus-wide for universities that get off their butt and sign up.
        An incomplete example: http://onthehub.com/download/free-software/microsoft-office-…

Even Visual-Studio is now freely available campus-wide, not just for CS/IT students.

        • Visual Studio (all versions) has been free on Dreamspark for students for a very long time.

        • Just visited the UNSW version of the page and it's charging at the discounted price $27.85. Whereas I can confirm that CSE students are able to access free software via Dreamspark.

        • @Astro551:
You sure? Last time I checked it was only windows 8.1 that was worth anything to me on dreamspark…

  • +1

Thanks OP, worked for me. I'm an @health.NSW.gov.au email address.

  • UTS also has this for free, including OS like Windows 7 and Windows 8… And versions of Windows server are all free as well.

  • Hi guys

My partners email worked but will I need to login each time I use this copy of office?

    • +1

No. Just to buy. Then it works like the one you buy from any retailer.

  • Didn't work for @tafensw.net.au address. But I tried @education.nsw.gov.au and it came up with a blank result?

    • Doesn't work on Firefox.

      • Chrome gave the same result too.

  • Can I just add - these copies of office are a little different to the retail version; I would recommend downloading the installation file and keeping it somewhere, because the CD key will only work with the installation file you download from the page (won't work with the retail copy).

  • Hmm…my son is at Curtin doing Computer science & computer systems engineering. He picked up various programs via Dreamspark, yet this offer says, "We were unable to retrieve your program code at this time and are unable to qualify you with the email domain you have provided."? That's using his uni email which is comprised of his name. He says he has another that uses his student number ID, but that's generally for admin stuff.

    Any ideas?

  • Works for both my uni and work email, don't need it though

  • What does a blank box mean when you try it?

    • Change browser. Firefox does not seem to work.

  • Looks like any .vic.gov.au email prefix works.

  • works for unisa.edu.au

  • The Uni of Adelaide site directs you to a slightly different deal
4 year subscription of Office 365 for $99

  • Can anyone share their email and program code to allow me to buy this? My local government employer won't subscribe to the HUP :-(

  • Does anyone know how to get the installation ISO (for the future)?

This only seems to have an online installer (1MB or so) which installs the complete Office without even asking a question.

  • -1

I use work email, works, but how can we purchase it? don't know how to purchase. There is no way to add product and pay for it.

  • Wish this deal worked for Office 2010… 2013 is terrible in comparison (for work purposes)

  • This worked for me! I work for a Victorian based property developer.

  • I get it for free?!? Suspicious ……..

  • Ok… Not too sure if anyone else knows this… But i just tried it with my @internode.on.net email and it seems to work…

So this seems to be pretty good for Internode users =)

  • Thanks Op. Was looking for Microsoft Office for my wife's iMac and this deal cannot come at a better time! Tried with my office email and it seems to work. Bought Office 2011 Mac for $15. I think it is a bargain even though it is not the latest and greatest version of MS Office. Thanks again.

Edit: Just installed on my iMac and the deal works.

    • Office 2011 Mac is the latest.

  • so what is the program code?
