90 Day Free Trial (30 Days if Unlucky) for Google Play Music All Access

1420

Log into your google account and click the link. It gave me a 90 day free trial even though I had previously signed up for one before.

Make sure you cancel before the 3 months end, else you will be charged the first months subscription automatically.

Note that some users are reporting that this link only gives a 30 day trial, and some not at all.

If you don't have any luck with the link above, you can try the one posted in Android Authority http://www.androidauthority.com/google-play-3-months-free-al….

Protip from fryandlaurie: You can cancel your renewal from Settings>Music account without affecting All Music access. That only cancels the renewal and not the actual all music pass. Enjoy :-)

  • No free option for me. I have previously used a free trial, and paid for the service for a while before unsubscribing.

    New users only.

I managed to get the three months free even though I previously did a free trial.

      • +3

As long as approximately 11 months have passed since you finished your last free trial, you're able to trial the service again

    • Sorry mate. It worked for me even though, like you, I had trialled and paid for the service in the past. I've just posted an alternative link- maybe you will have better luck?

    • Subscriber here. I can confirm this is only for new subscribers.

Clicking on the link will only show me this message: "This special offer is only valid for new All Access subscribers"

Really liking their service. The library is not as complete as Spotify's (quite close) but the ability to upload my music really help fill the gaps in their library. No more "This music is not available in your country."

Cons: No desktop standalone application. Must be used in a browser.

      • +1

        Did you try unsubscribing first?

  • 3 months for me - thanks!

  • I'm on a second 90 day trial, only got it a few days ago until Feb.

I think my first trial was when all access first started.

  • got 90 days cheers!

  • 90 days for me too. Cheers Op!

  • got one thanks. on a side note, which of the streaming providers offer the best quality audio?

    • I'm not sure about Google Play Music, but spotify premium streams up to 320kbps

    • +1

Play music streams up to 320kbps as does Spotify.

There is also www.qobuz.com which streams FLAC for 20 euros per month, iirc.

    • They both offer 320kbps for premium subcribers (Spotify needs to be set to 'Extreme quality' setting); however Spotify uses Ogg Vorbis and Google Play Music All Access uses MP3.

Ogg is supposed to be the better compression format, but at this bit rate 99% of people would not be able to hear the difference between Spotify, Google or CD-quality / FLAC on 99% of recordings. I can hear some differences on well-recorded acoustic or classical music between 320kbps and FLAC, but Spotify and GPMAA sound on par to me.

Also, unless you are using bluetooth speakers or headphones with AptX support AND your phone / player has AptX, you will not be able to hear anything higher quality than 320kbps (again, this won't matter to 99% of people). This doesn't apply to wired headphones / speakers of course.

    • As someone who has used both Spotify and GPMAA, I have to say GPMAA does have better quality music. I know they are technically both 320kbs, but when I switched to GPMAA I found the sound quality noticeably better - especially when you use their web player. I'm a bit of an audiophile, so maybe you won't notice it as much as I did, but especially when you have good gear you will notice a difference in quality (at least I did anyway). Also it is possible you won't notice as much difference on a phone (it actually sounded more flat to me on the phone - maybe even worse than spotify - but at the same time I switched to an iPhone so I can't do a comparison there - could just be the iPhone DAC). But definitely on the computer - sounded much better than Spotify.

      • This shouldn't have been the case. Did you check to see if your Spotify SQ setting was set to 'extreme'?

      • Have also experienced GPMAA to be slightly better SQ when I had trial subscriptions to both services at the same time and played the same track. Did have Spotify set to 'extreme' but the fact is sound quality is a subjective thing. I appreciate highs in the music and found GPMAA to be noticeably better (at least to me.)

  • got 90 days. thanks op

  • 90days here too

I logged on to my Google Play Now account and saw the 30 day trial. I wasn't happy with 30 days so I used Chrome and clicked the link provided by OP and voila, I saw the 90 day trial offer from Google Ireland.

Please use OP's link to get 90 day trial!

    • And the blatant tax dodge by US-based mega-corporations goes on unhindered…

  • Thanks Op I just got 90 days using the link.

  • Fantastic deal. Previously used 30 day trial but still got 90 days!

  • Thanks op! Hmm .. Me wonders if this will still be available when my deezer expires at end of the month. Also if I can stack this on top of the google chrome 90 days that I'm yet to activate. 1st world problems eh

  • 90 days for me. Thanks heaps OP

  • Keeps saying "Unsupported payment method". Their Visa, MC, Amex and PayPal. Ugh!

  • Yup, got 3 months free and I recall I used one month free while ago. thanks OP.

  • Got 90 days.
    Thx

  • +1

Nice, got 90 days as well. Was about to renew spotify, but looks like this will do for the next 3 months.

  • +2

Thanks. On contrary to what some people see, the link in this deal gave me 90 days, while the link in android authority indicates only 30 days trial for my account.

    • +1

      I had the same issue.

      • Doesn't sound like an issue to me.

    • Me too. 90 days with the link here, 30 days with the androidauthority.

  • +1

Too bad I currently have a paid subscription.

The reason I switched from Spotify to this a few months ago is because with GPMAA I only needed to get a Chromecast to stream music to my home theatre using a phone / tablet. Spotify wanted me to buy a new A/V receiver to do the same.

  • +1

    Signed up and cancelled, thanks!

    • Why?

  • Google play music app can stream to chromecast. Pebble watch can control google play! This is awesome. If only i could control my pc with pebble…

  • Thanks cancelled my spotify and used this. If it doesnt meet the same level ill cancel and go back. Also the app on android is a bit confusing, finding it a struggle to actually get to the browsing section etc

    • Just go to 'Explore', then you'll see the various options like genres, featured, new releases and recommended.

There's a ton of other options, make sure you use the '…' menus, which change depending on the context.

  • Worked for me too, ex subscriber.

  • thanks OP. got 90 day subscription!

  • which link did it work with? i cant find the link on the android community provided by OP

    • never mind, i have jus got 3 months spotify premium wit voda along with note 4,can any one let me know which is better - spotify or google play?

  • 90 days thanks OP!

  • Bit of a noob at this. But how do I use the free access and what do I have access to. I have already activated the free sub.

    • +2

That would depend on your preferences. There's a few comments from users of both services in this post. As stated above, I cancelled my paid Spotify subscription and have been a paid GPMAA subscriber for a few months.

The catalogues and sound quality are similar but GPMAA has the edge in features IMHO, as it allows you to upload your own albums / songs (even in FLAC) to fill any gaps.. GPMAA also works with Chromecast. Spotify doesn't and requires much more expensive hardware to do the same.

  • Error processing coupon
The special offer is only available to new users

  • Said 90 days for me. I then I clicked next and got a server error… Now it's only offering me 30 days.

EDIT: I waited, clicked a few times more and it offered me 90 again. Not sure what's going on

  • Hmm. Considering switching to this from MOG …

  • Thanks op. Just question about this service, say if I downloaded for offline listening and when my subscription expires next year, would I still be able to play the downloaded/ cached contents?

    • Wouldn't that be great! No, you won't be able to do that.

Couldn't help noticing that the payee is Google Ireland. Ireland is a well-known tax haven. Looks like Google isn't keen on supporting Australian public health or education or defense… No way am I actually paying money for this.

Edit: just saw Miztadave's post above.

    • For the record, I didn't neg you, but I think it's a pretty ignorant view of the world. As we don't live under a communist system, a corporation's main responsibility is to it's shareholders, i.e. make as much money as you can without breaking the law. The governments control the legislation that defines what is allowable and it is up to the government to close any real or perceived loopholes.

It is the governmant's responsibility to worry about our education, defence etc - not Google's. The trick is not to over-tighten the screws (i.e. overtax) and kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, which would make the country uncompetitive for business globally.

However, I agree that the balance is skewed towards the large multi-nationals at the moment (and Apple is no better than Google in this regard), which is exactly why the government of the day is trying to address this and it was a big agenda item at the G20.

  • Signed up 90 days :D

  • BTW this deal works still for when 90 days are over and Rdio has moved to high quality AAC. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/153389

  • All good for 90 days here,

  • thanks got 90 days trial.

  • thanks OP. Was thinking to google music. 90 days risk free is awesome.
And just in time for summer holidays.

  • Thank you Op. I got it yesterday. Have not had it before though.
BTW great timing. Just switched from an iPhone to a Note4. So needed an alternative to iTunes match.

  • Awesome timing was going to sub but checked OzB first and score a 90 day freebie

  • Still works on my account that had already used the 1 month trial!

  • Confirmed 90 day free trial and immediately "cancelled" payment and still works. Cheers!
