Galaxy Note 4 $718.40, Tab S 8.4/10.5 - $287.20/ $367.20 + Shipping from TGG eBay Store

1150
CBIGXMAS

Available from 10am AEDT. Shipping was $6.44 to North QLD from Melbourne, so YMMV.

Galaxy Note 4 as part of the eBay 20% off sale brings the price down to well below grey import prices for Australian stock. For example Kogan still has it at $849.

        • @luztra:

I'd say you are right. I see same price as deal now.

        • @luztra:

Sigh, my partner went and looked at the two models and now decides the 10.5 is the better of the two - so now I have to cancel the just ordered 8.4 models and stick with the 10.5 models…

  • Just picked up my Note 4 in store. Got Refunded back the $5 shipping

  • +3

Just bought a Note 4, still can't believe I paid $723.40 for a phone! Last phone was $360 for a GS3 with Vodafone on a 24 month plan $35/month + sneaky free (aka +$15/month) for the phone. Phone before that was a $195 Garmin ASUS from dicksmith also found on Ozbargain.

    • Don't know why you cant believe that. Over 100 million iphones have been sold meaning over 100 millions of people paid $1000 for a phone. I am not implying $700 for a phone is justifible, just saying.

      • Most of them bought it on contract.

    • Apple stock price: http://goo.gl/RqmpYx

  • The Dick Smith site has a VF version for $50 more than the standard. What's that?

    • Vodafone firmware..

  • Sigh…bought off ebay using local pickup from a store that said it had stock. Rang them a couple of hours later and they said they've now got no stock and I will have to wait. Can someone please invent a store inventory program that actually works..

  • Should I buy this or wait until boxing day for a better sale? :(

    • +1

The tablet is 20% off on what I believe was already the lowest available price for the item so I don't believe it would be cheaper any time soon. I don't reckon you'll get the phone cheaper either, maybe some grey imports might get there but for local stock this is pretty cheap.

      • ah yeah i was talking about the phone ! do u think they will have similar prices on boxing day?

  • Just got to the end of submitting my Paypal payment and was told they are out of stock again..

Fingers crossed they list more soon (of the Note 4). Amazing deal, especially considering I can claim TRS soon, and do some tax deduction wizardry.

  • 8.4 16GB Wi-Fi appears to be back in stock but no pickup available so ordered for $5 delivery.

    • All Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets now appear to have gone. I hope I got one before stock ran out and they honour my order.

Why was the discount not applied to my PayPal?

During checkout, the discount was applied… but PayPal subtracted the full amount…??

    • Look under Funding Source in Transaction Details for that transaction and it will all be clear. FYI these details don't show up in the mobile app. It was in the notes of this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/170606.

  • I ordered a Tab S 8.4 for delivery and I got an email saying it had been allocated to a store for processing… Do I receive any further updates when it is mailed out or such?

Also, I live in NSW and it was allocated to a store in the ACT for processing. Anyone else have something similar?

    • ime no, I have had my last 2 orders allocated to other stores only to find out the stores that my orders were allocated to had no stock. Funny thing is they had to source stock from Cairns which is close to 1500 km away from me. Took 2 weeks to get my last tgg stuff up.

      • Thanks for that. I'm pretty sure that the store in the ACT I was allocated to is out of stock as well as my local store.

But if they are going to be out of stock and have to order it in to then deliver it to me, it might as well be allocated to a local store 3 km away instead of having to wait some time for restocking and then wait some more time on top of that for delivery from interstate.

I think I'll give them a call tomorrow to see if something like that can be arranged.

  • Shame they're out of stock

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4" 16 GB Tablet $272.84 at Officeworks Elizabeth Shopping Centre (South Australia). Around 4:30 pm today, I walked to the Officeworks store and politely asked the staff member if they could beat The Good Guys(TGG)/ eBay store price of $287.20. Initially, the staff member said there was no stock in South Australia. Upon checking the available stock we found that TGG Gepps Cross store had stock. The staff member then went and spoke with his manager and they agreed to beat the price by 5%. Excellent timing as I am traveling overseas next month. I purchased additional 8 GB and 16 GB Ultra microSDHC Cards and the invoice total was $300.80. Now I can claim the 10% GST at the airport. Very Happy !!!

    • Good on u! No luck for me. Called officeworks yesterday to price match, unfortunately got rejected. They would not price match with ebay discount TGG.

  • Just got a phone call from TGG's Hobart. They have 240 odd back orders nationwide so I have to wait. They had no idea of how long. They also had no idea what I paid and sounded a bit stunned by the price. Question is - is it going to go any lower anywhere else before it comes? I can't see that happening before Christmas.

White version at Kogan for $819 (plus any shipping).

So I wonder if they'd go for me paying the extra $231 to get the 64Gb iPhone Plus instead? Decisions, decisions.

    • Yep I'm on the wait list as well. It could be weeks.

    • Dang… glad I didn't wait for TGG to release more stock and put in an order with DSE.

I got an email from them already saying it'll be dispatched today.

  • They tried calling me, but I never got to the phone. They sent me an email saying order is on its way. :)

    • Don't worry bud, when you get the phone (and the call) you can tell them you want it.

  • The way they spoke and going by the receipt I got emailed the Good Guys stores think you have paid $898. I got the impression (thinking about it later) that they might have been flexible on pricing because I had to wait. So might be be worth pushing for a bit more off.

  • Sucks about the wait for the orders. I bought one for $60 more at Dick Smith. Hopefully I get it before Christmas as it's for my sister who's visiting from overseas!

  • Just an update, got another call saying they've sold out (which I already knew) and asking whether I'd like to wait or cancel. She said it could take about a week to get one in. I decided to wait. They're not getting out of this that easy :p

  • Got off a call with GG's in Vic. Note 4 order they are suggesting out of stock, so is there Australia inventory. Samsung suggests next stock availability is only Mid Jan for black and early feb for white.

They are asking me if i want to wait or cancel. WAt do u guys suggest

    • +1

They told me it is out of stock and I will be getting mine this week, which I think is highly unlikely. I am predicting by February, the prices drop to this price

  • +1

They could be right about inventory.

The phone i grabbed yesterday was built 14 November, so airfreighted from Viet/Syd ? then BNE.

    Cheers.

    • +2

good guys website says they have in stock…..wats the fuzz about

      • all Peachy fuzz

      • I think they might be talking about the white one, there is no stock of it anywhere. However, the black one has stock everywhere except Sydney (unless you live in Penrith or Campbelltown). So they'll be delivered from Melbourne to Sydney.

        • Ordered this morning Note4 white and just received email coming from ACT

        • I am based in melbourne and store assigned to me is Chadstone which is obviously close to me

        • I ordered one Black from Chadstone, and I got a call - saying no stock - assigned to Chadstone.

  • OK So I bought the 10.5 inch… not quite sure why. I guess it was a spur of the moment thing, "OMG IT'S CHEAPER THAN I WOULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED!" - which is true. I never, EVER would have thought that the 10.5 could go down below $450.

I may sell it, in new condition, unopened…

Out of curiosity, would anyone be interested in it?

    • I did the same, except I just opened mine up and thought, whoa, this is bigger than I remember.

Deciding if it is worth putting it up for sale (opened it all of 15 minutes and applied a screen protector etc.), and seeing if I can get what I paid, or boxing it back up and giving to a family member (which are all Apple users, so doubt this will be a viable option).

    • You bought one so other people really want one but couldn't get it and you still decided not to upvote the deal?

      • This is ozbargain. We buy when there's a bargain and we sometimes question our purchases later. You should know…

As for the upvote… Oops, upvoted ;)

BTW is this some hobby of yours? Being like an upvote police.

        • Yeh I understand but honestly I don't have $450 to buy now think later. I guess no body knows when it will go out of stocks and I agree it is not your fault. Good that you are thinking to off load to someone wants it more. Sorry about my comment above. No I am not an up vote police.

  • inose and luztra, quote your prices plz.

    • -1

Are you in Perth? I am SOR.

I have the 10.5, which is MASSIVE. All that has been done is opened, Samsung screen protector applied and setup, but have decided to get the smaller size. Used for less than 15 minutes. All accessories still sealed, Screen is perfect, as is application of screen protector (no dust or bubbles).

I am asking $365 (approximate) price paid. I have the receipt from Good Guys for this as well which shows the full price.

PLUS: $50 extra to cover the cost of the Samsung screen protector and the genuine Samsung cover (RED), which cost me $79.95 at JB on Sunday (it is the full book cover, not just the front cover). I cannot return the book cover because 1) I opened it and 2) I have no idea where I put the receipt (and paid cash).

      • So, 405?

        • No, I was asking $415, but I think I'm just going to keep it and give it to my six year old son for Christmas as a backup to his iPad Air.

Not sure why I got two negative votes, considering I was asked to provide a price by another member - the tablet was used less than 15 minutes and boxed back up, and I was selling the bundle for around $60 less than I paid.

  • Hope they put the 10.5 back up

  • Why the note 4 description only says 2 & 3 G connection? Not 4G model?

  • Purchased the note 4 last night, and the store I was allocated to has stock. They said they won't let me pick it up in person despite me living 5 minutes away as it's their rule.

Now I need to unnecessarily wait for it to be delivered and pay the postage fee…

  • wonder if anyone can help, someone will go overseas at 5 feb so i need the invoice to have dated 6 Dec at least, is it possible with this deal that expiry today?
will TGG print the invoice date as today or when they ready to pack?

    • +1

TRS needs to be within 60 days. There are 31 days in Dec and Jan.

      • yeah thats why im looking at the possibilities to future dated my invoice if i buy today.

        • I was implying that the invoice needs to be dated at least 8 Dec. Also, the name on the invoice (if any) needs to be in the traveller's name.

        • @jackofspade:

          Traveller's name : Only > $1000

What do I need to bring to the TRS counter?
Bring your goods, original tax invoices, passport and boarding pass to the TRS counter.

If you have pre-entered your claim details using the TRS web or mobile app you must also present your TRS claim code to a Customs and Border Protection officer at the TRS counter. For more information on the TRS claim code visit the Tourist Refund Scheme applications webpage.

A tax invoice has the word ‘tax invoice’ on it and shows the business name and Australian Business Number (ABN) of the retailer, the purchase price including the GST and/or WET paid, a description of the goods and the date you purchased the goods. For tax invoices over $1,000, the tax invoice must also show your name and address.

If you are unable to present some or all of your goods and/or tax invoices on request, or cannot provide evidence that an officer has sighted your goods, some or all of your claim may be rejected.

Different rules apply for people wanting to claim the TRS on liquids, aerosols, gels and oversized items. You can read about these below.

thanks to the op for posting this up got me a note3 for 590 been hanging for ages to buy one took a broken lcd on s2 to push me lol

    • That is a good price for Australian stock.

    • well that was disapointing..i got a call back saying no stock avaliable..and that i could be in for a long wait till christmas maybe no eta. So i got refunded my money..anyone know where i can get a note 3 cheap in au with au warranty?

      • +1

gumtree ebay, second hand but still around 6 months old. probably around $450.

        • thanks erwinsie

      • +1

Does it have to be AU stock? I got a grey import for my sister for just over $500 ish. I don't think that's even the cheapest they've ever been. We're talking a 1 year old phone here.

        • thanks lolstn, yeah i was thinking take the plunge and go cheap with a grey import save a few bucks

      • +2

Don't forget to leave a negative feedback. No eta means TGG is selling something they don't have and never know they will ever be able to fulfil your order. This is much worse than those private eBay sellers I bought from in the past.

        • yeah true they should have stated on the ebay site out of stock,or no eta.Instead of wasting my time.
          cheers wtfnodeal

  • If anyone is looking to sell their new tab s 10.5 WiFi I am interested in buying one.

  • +1

So now I understand why people are always hating on TW. I received my 10.5 this morning, and thus far I am really liking it, probably the best tab for media consumption. I like the thinness, the screen, and the size. TW on the otherhand is so horrible, so much lag, I think its worse than my old nexus 7 2012 version was. Even just a task such as browsing is horrible experience on this tab, try and type a message on a forum and watch the delay in the text appearing. If you are used to pure Android on a recent nexus device or an iPad, this things performance will piss you off. I'm sure installing cm11 will fix the performance issues.

    • +1

Lol. Just finishing live chat with Samsung live support. Went through all the serial no, IMEI, name, blah blah blah..asked me to factory reset the tablet. Suddenly, I was connecting to another agent, went through everything again. Wasted my time there.

Anyway, I totally agree the terrible browsing experience. It was choppy and lagging. A bit disappointed! Googled about it and seems like a lot of people have the same issue. Looks like the only way to fix this is to flash another rom or get rid of touchwiz and bloatwares.

Does anyone know if this will void the warranty?

      • It will trigger the 'knox' tamper flag, yes.

      • Just changed to Google now launcher. It is not that laggy anymore. Easy fix!

    • Were the seals on your box broken when you received your tablet?

      • No. Seal was not broken.

  • both in stock again….

    • I thought people was told no stock until Jan 2015? So TGG is selling $360 of thin air and call customers later to choose if they want to wait or cancel the orders? Are they allowed to do it without first notifying it is on back order at the moment?

      • The listing has ended?

I don't see any tab s in stock

        • Yeah saw that as well. I think josaya did not see "this listing has ended"

  • I got my Tab S. The box it came in was crushed and the tampering seals that said "do not accept if seal is broken" were open. Seems like they're sending out second hand goods :(

    • Paypal dispute time?

      • I'd prefer if they sent me a new tablet though. Can that actually be done? I've never done a paypal dispute before =X

        • How bout you contact the good guys first before starting a dispute.

        • Yeah try contact TGG to see what do they have to say about it first. If you are not happy with what they tell you just open a paypal dispute case the item received does not fit product description. Very easy.

        • @beaver2233: Sounds reasonable I'll do that

    • Me too. I called the good guys and they said it was a completely new item and i could return it if i liked. I wonder who opened it.the plastic screen protector isnt present but the device seems fine.

  • Got the tracking notice email from Aust Post today so they must have some Note 4 stock come in.

    • Got it today so some Note 4's are coming through.

  • My Tab S 10.5 still hasn't been sent out for delivery yet :(

  • Finally picked up my tab s after being transferred numerous times between stores. Turns out the store I originally ordered from had 7 in stock but no one notified me. I had to chase them up. Poor service tbh.

  • Hey guys, any chance to still buy the Galaxy note 4 and Tab S 8.4" at those prices? Thanks!

  • Anyone selling the Galazy Tab S 10"?
