  • Very good price for a great 4k TV

  • Been thinking about this tv is it any good was kinda leaning more towards the KD55X9000B.

  • +2

KD55X9000B is $2520 delivered from Good Guys.

If budget is not a problem, I would recommend X9000B (I have the 65in version). It has a pair of fantastic speakers (it is really good and can use it when watching TV shows or FTA programs or you don't have a 5.1 system). Sometimes I mistaken it for my Paradigm Monitor speakers.

Also X9000B has local dimming vs X8500B with edge lit. Hence X9000B has better black and contrast. Otherwise the panel should be the same.

If AV quality is very important for you, you should go for X9000B. If budget is more important then go for X8500B.

Alternatively, pay another $1000-1200 for 65X9000B.

Because the code gives you $200 off discount instead of 20% off discount, the KD55X9000B is actually $2819.11 delivered (I'm at the checkout window with coupon applied).

      • +1

Yes yes. You are right. KD55X900B is actually $2819.11.

Maximum $200 discount as per T&C

Thanks Trump for the some good info

  • I think you'll find this one is 50Hz and the Samsung UHD you posted is 100Hz.

  • Anyone know how to get extended warranty with these ebay items?

    • You don't need extended warranty on all SONY products. They last 10+ years.

      • +2

        Right….someone with an actual answer?

        • +2

My old Sony XBR4 only lasted 5 years :(.

But Sony agreed to replaced it with a 4k TV at half price off RRP. That was last year.

Honestly, 4k TVs are their flagship and premium models, so if it only last for 2 years, you should call up Sony to complain (quote consumer law too) and insists they help to repair them.

I dealt with Sony before and I think they are reasonable.

        • Apparently the store that will ship the order will call tou and offer extended warranty.

  • Hmmm….

    Current listed price = $1695

But just under the product title you see "Take off a further 20% with Coupon Code CBIGXMAS".

Which you would think would be $1356

When you add to cart, it says you receive a flat $200 off. Pricing/promo error by TGG/eBay?

    • +2

      Max $200 off I think.

  • If someone has already bought this TV unit, can they please upload the receipt.

@asvinder No need to, I just got this exact deal from JB-HiFi at Indooroopilly an hour ago. All I did was show them this deal on my iPhone. The salesman did state that this is an eBay deal, but was easily swayed when I said that this is the official eBay store for Good Guys.

He was reluctant but happy to honour this exact deal. I'll be getting mine delivered on Tuesday. :-)

    • Thanks HakTor..I bought this TV yesterday from HarveyNorman with their No interest free scheme. Then I thought by showing them the Receipt if I could get the best price guarantee, will give your way a go and see if they Honor it.Will it be possible for you to upload the receipt,Sorry if thats too much of a hassle for ya.ta

      • The interest free deals are always on a non discounted price.

  • eBay deal price should be 1695-200=1495 (maybe update title??)- which sounds like a great price for a 4K 55" - weren't these over $2000 a little while back? TEMPTING Also 2% cash rewards = $30

  • FYI, no VP9 (is it going to matter?) and no 4K via the network (not sure about via built-in apps):

    • What's vp9?

      • +1
        • thanks. gee, it's been out for 2 years and I have never heard of it.
says VP10 will be out soonish so I am guessing VP9 will disappear (well prob already has).

so what TVs do support that? Also what ones support 4K via the network?

        • @PVA: No, VP9 is not disappearing soon, neither is HEVC.
Don't know answers to your questions.

  • listed @ $2189 on ebay now - too late to the party?

    • And someone bought one at that price.

  • bugger - should have jumped on it - the price was $1695 yesterday - amazing price with $200 off that

  • JB have also jumped it back up from $1698 to $2198 https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…
