A few months ago, I purchased the Sony A7 camera and it came with a Sony e-gift card with a coupon code. I found out that the code wasn't a single use code and so I've ordered heaps of stuff including memory cards, USB sticks, screen protectors, power banks etc. I put through about 14 different orders and surprisingly received them all.

If you also purchased the A7 (or another Sony camera), you'll probably have a similar e-gift card. My gift card was actually expired when I got it but I emailed and called Sony and they said they extended all "expired" gift cards til December. Feel free to use my code to get $30 off anything on the Sony store. Not that a few items may be out of stock, but you can still "force" an order through and redeem the $30 discount. They'll just ship it out when it's back in stock.

Make sure you are a MySony member and logged in for the coupon to be valid. Plus, you'll get free shipping. It's free to sign up - https://www.sony.com.au/registerproduct
If signing up for the first time, when it asks for a product, just type ILCE-7 for the product and Digidirect as a store you "purchased" it from and you should be able to become a member from there.

Some of the things I purchased:

16GB USB On-The-Go (Black) for $4.95 delivered https://www.sony.com.au/product/usm16sa1
USB Portable Charger (Black) for $9.99 delivered https://www.sony.com.au/product/cp-v3a
16GB USB Micro Vault CLICK for $9.99 delivered https://www.sony.com.au/product/usm16gu

I know Sony is usually quite expensive, but with $30 off, it makes it worth considering. For items less than $30, just use something cheap to top it up to $30:
4GB microSDHC Memory Card ($12.95) https://www.sony.com.au/product/sr-4a4

EDIT:
Other codes you could try:

Expired codes:
MS132760757
MS132003433
MS136700665

I'll update this post as the codes are used up. Feel free to share your codes if you have any!

Just grabbed a USB Portable Charger for $9.99 delivered !

  • Once you create a MySony account the coupon code works!
I registered my copy of Killzone for PS4, which I purchased from Dick Smith. Didn't require a serial number, and you could use any date/store combination I guess. Just start searching for PS4 in the product search when you go to register.

    • +1

No Vivek, party is over. $30 free does not last long :P
Btw these are multi use codes but should not have been shared. Now everyone who has a valid code might get their code turned into single use :(

    • Welcome to OzBargain bvivek77.

  • oops :(

    thanks for info..

  • -1

Sorry OP, none works! So sad coz of some greedy guys :(

    • +14

Greedy Guys ?? These coupons were only meant for people who purchased Sony Cameras. Now everyone who bought a camera genuinely have their coupon turned into 1 use only.

People who are still going mad that they could not grab the freebie are the ones that are greedy.
Good thing is no one else will share the codes now as most of the codes are turned into single use now.

Hopefully Sony has less than 100 orders in this ordeal and does not cancel the people who have ordered with their own genuine coupons.

  • Thank you soo soo much for the post, while it lasted. scored a portable charging station

  • mmmm. This post reminded me of a valid coupon I received. Just went to buy and now I get invalid coupon. May have to try in a week after they get their house back in order

  • they have staff/systems monitoring this at this time? hmmm…

  • +1

Great tip on the multi use, OP! I have a valid code I received with a new camera and just used it to buy a bunch of bits. I read the T&Cs and nowhere does it say it is a single use code nor does it say you cannot re-gift it. The T&Cs state:

Your eCoupon can only be redeemed on the Sony Australia Online Store.
Your eCoupon is for use on accessory purchases $31 and over.
Your eCoupon cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Your eCoupon is only redeemable when logged into an active MySony account during the Online Store Checkout Process.
Your eCoupon is not for resale.

Can you please send me a code so I can buy 1x PS4 controller charger please.

      Thank you.

      • Clearly not a popular request, mate. Nonetheless, once I get confirmation all my stuff has shipped, I don't mind sharing. The cat's out of the bag now anyway.

  • Awesome I bought a RX100mk3 from JB and got one of these… Nice to know it isn't one use only :)

  • Grrr… I received an 'expired' one when I got a Sony camera, so threw it out.

  • +6

Who posts a limited use code on ozbargain??? Some of you might think this was a good idea but what's happened is all genuine purchasers of Sony cameras now only have a single use code. I could understand someone giving away a code in the forums, but not as a post. Merry Christmas to everyone who receives a Sony camera! Enjoy your one use only (was supposed to be 10 or more times) code!

    • +1

…I think Sony only intended them to be one use anyway; "10+ use" was never a selling point in the first place.
      Correct me if I'm wrong..?

Edit: Ten+ use may not have been a bug, however OP is only providing his own codes anyone, this is only using up HIS OWN codes at this stage; not effecting anyone else's purchases?

      • Actually, the same code was often supplied with multiples of the same camera (explaining why they were multiple use), so the OP's codes weren't just his/hers and they have potentially caused other legitimate purchasers to miss out…

        • -2

How would you even know that? LOL

        • @IG88:

One possibility is that I saw the same code supplied with multiple cameras ;-)

        • -2

@oz-dave: Sounds like BS to me

        • Aww I see.
          Thanks for explanation.

In my opinion Sony is by far at fault for this in that case.. Why not provide unique codes?

        • +2

          @dyl:

Agreed, I think they could have done a better job :-)

  • -5

There is always one that spoils for others.

    • You're kidding right? The OP was trying to do something nice for the Ozbargain community and you neg him and have a sook?

Sony portable charger got shipped today. Thank again OP

    • Just noticed the same as well. Plenty of USBs coming my way. I had a valid card and just adding 1. Got the emails today stating goods are on there way and thought I'd see if anyone else had done this on ozb.

      • Did you receive all your USB drives? Did you order them all on the one day or stagger the orders?

        • Ive ordered 2 lots so far. All came on the same day (3boxes) with one usb in each. Delivery driver likes it as he gets 3 payments ;). I've just been ordering the 16gb microvault usb on the go - comes to a few dollars each from memory.

        • @pw2002au: I placed a few orders just recently. Some items are on back order. Are there any T&Cs which govern the cards use? I can't find anything which says either way it's for single use or multiple use.

I also purchased the 16GB USB stick. Works out to be $9.99 after the coupon.

        • @unity1: This was the one I got https://www.sony.com.au/product/usm16sa1 should be only $4.95. T&Cs looked limited to one card one use (I received an error when trying to use twice). The problem is Sony just used sequential numbering on all the cards so just adding 1 to the last number used seems to work fine for new orders. Shipping should be free. For back order items I dont know how long they would take to process.

Ive received all 6 orders that I put in (three each day) with a different number code. Think I've rorted their system enough though now :)

        • +1

@pw2002au: I purchased this one https://www.sony.com.au/product/usm16gu. It's worth the extra few dollars for USB 3.0 compatibility. I used the same card number each time and it worked. ^ orders isn't too bad. Someone mentioned 14.

        • @unity1: Agree - the write speeds are pretty crap but the small form factor and micro usb adapter is great :)

  • g'day everyone, am just wondering if anybody received their orders using the codes here (multiple use)?

    • Yes, but 1-2 items on back order. I used my own code, from a camera purchase I had made last year.
