I'll summarise the steps involved:
- Go to www.colouryoursummer.com.au on your Smartphone
- Click "Colour Your Summer"
- Take a photo or upload a photo of 6x new coloured coke cans (Hint see the desktop version of the site on a computer)
- Let it upload (if it fails it will return to the main home screen)
- If it loads a small game, you lost. Otheriwise it will ask for Facebook login or Coke login/register an account and inform you of your win.
10 entries per Facebook account or Coke account per day (Note that it doesn't require the login until you win)

Ok. So I have read the t&c's and there are two parts to winning a prize.
1) you need to find a winning combo for the day (any combo for that day will do.
2) winning TIMES have been predetermined. The prize winner is the first person who applies a "winning combo" after the time has passed.So that "ohh. That was close message" means that someone else already won the most recently available prize.
I know that you can only use a combo once within 10 minutes. But I don't know if this is "the combo can only used once by anyone… Or if this is per user within the 10 mins".
I can confirm that one user can use the same combination to win multiple prizes but not within 10 minutes.

Your calculation could be correct. If it is one prize per every 40 minutes that will be 36 prizes a day. The competition runs for 17 weeks which makes it a total of 17x7x36 = 4284 prizes. Close enough to 4173 as mentioned in the competition T&C :)

This comp is making me too emotional. I'm thinking of bailing. Thanks to the guys who have posted info.
I was in your situation till 3 days back but now I won 3 prizes in 3 days and hoping to win an Ice watch before the competition ends. Follow these steps for a better chance to win in less number of attempts
Find the working combination for the day. It's just pure luck but you should be able to find one within 10 attempts. Or just use one of those posted here in the comments. The winning combination will give you an entry every ten minutes i.e. it asks you to log in after you upload the image unlike the other combinations that shows the game immediately.
The prize release times are still a mystery for everyone so keep trying every ten minutes. If you are the first one with a valid combination after the prize is released you will be a winner.
It's easy to compete with the few OzBaraginers entering the competition at ungodly hours than with every OzBargainer and non-OzBargainer during daytime. So try your luck between 2AM-6AM.
Edit: Noticed that you are in Perth so you better stay late and win while the rest of Australia goes to bed :)

Make sure you keep your image size down. Most smart phone takes huge photos. Reduce the size so that they are under 100kb in size.

Forget combos, keep it simple :)
Get a pic of each colour set of cans (eg a pic of 6 green, a pic of 6 red etc). 6 pictures. I guarantee at least 1 will give the desired effect :)

I was wondering about the 10 minute between entries. Is it set to 10 minute intervals from 12am onwards? e.g. 12:10, 12:20, 12:30 or is it purely 10 minutes after your last entry?

So you don't need to have one specific combination in order to win a prize, you just need to have any combination that takes you to the "you may have won" page and use it after a time when a prize has been unlocked? Thanks.

Finally win a prize and for some reason i then get an error trying to connect to facebook and it wont register an account for me no matter what i put in.
Are you on Windows Phone? I am, and have never been able to connect via Facebook. Creating a Coca Cola account was glitchy as shit, and even though it wouldn't go through from my end it had still registered.
Yep i'm on windows phone, I keep getting an error about the uri URL needing to be absolute or something. Have tried to log in anyway but it's not working sadly.
So i tried using a different email to sign up and that worked straight away, must already have an account on the other one but can't remember the password.

From what you said it looks like you got the "Looks like you discovered something" message and it asked you to login. That doesn't actually mean you won something, you'll only find if you actually won after logging in which is probably 1% chance.
Facebook login doesn't work sometimes but I have a coke rewards account to use in those cases. If you have issues registering for an account try it on desktop website.
Oh didn't know that, but still having problems with it.

If you have about 3 different combinations that give you the whoa message, then you can do them right after each other it has worked for me. So you can get 3 woahs in the space of 2 minutes but then can't get it again for another 10 mins
You can try on a different device with the same login within ten minutes. But you will be exhausting your entries quota of 10 entries per day. IMO there is no point in trying within ten minutes as the whoa message means the prize for that time slot (40 mins?) has already been gone.

So if you get that even before you log in it means the prize for that time slot has gone? I thought it was once you log in and it says "so close".

But if you get the message and after logging in if it says "Ohh that was close" that means the prize for that slot has already gone. But the next slot could be in the next ten minutes or in an hour. OzBargainers still haven't figured out the prize releasing times.
Each time you get the "Whoa! It looks like you might have discovered something special." message it is considered as a chance to win and that's you are asked to log in and per day you will only get 10 chances to win so use them wisely unless you have multiple accounts.
