Harvey Norman Adelaide just told me this is a weekend sale only, starts Saturday ends Sunday.

    • T&C's - Applies to "transaction made between 13/12/14 and 14/12/14". Weekend sale only, also FYI called TCL they are out of stock Australia wide, won't be seeing any until after Christmas. Not sure what the stock levels are like with HN.

Just to update to this comment, its available now. Called a few hours ago.

        • thanks,I ordered one at website.

  • Great deal. But wait, is this for the L50S5600FS or L50B2800F model? Big difference in reviews.

    • It is the 2800, and not necessarily the F model. The ones in my local were 'L50B2800'and the store manager confirmed they were indeed their $399 stock.

      • Thanks Awsam!

YOU ARE AWESOME. Thanks for the link!

    • Does anywhere actually have stock online though? Everywhere in Brisbane says out of stock so it might not be available until Saturday.

      • I ordered from my local store, though it says unavailable there. It will not stop you ordering even if you choose the store where there is no stock.

        • Yeah, it allows you to back-order for when there's stock

        • @mr kindface: Just got an email saying that my order is ready to pick up. Very quick !

    • it shows that all perth through to Busselton stores are out of stock?

      • Gotta back order.

    • Thanks for the link but according to the free store pick up locator there are none in stock in my area in north Brisbane. Which means paying the $49 delivery fee but I still think this is a great deal.

    • Thanks pyarravajhala

      • delivery is $49 and there is no stock anywhere in Sydney :/

        • well.. this isn't true.. if you buy online there is no stock for instore pickup.. but if you go to their stores they have the boxes on floor………..

      • +1

father gerry harvey said you bad mouthed HN for being expensive, no free delivery for you

        • :(

        • Everyone's been bad apparently. There is no pleasing Father Gerry

Just noticed that all the reviews posted in this thread isn't for the L50B2800F model which this offer is advertising. If anyone comes across any review at all, please do share! Yes it's cheap but if it's a bad model, I don't see why go through the headache.

  • I'd love to know if there is a dotbydot setting to use this TV as a computer monitor? No reviews on the net that I can find.

    • The aspect ratio settings on this TV are: Auto, 16:9, 4:3, Zoom1, Zoom2 and Panorama. I'm unsure if Auto disables overscan as I had no input devices to test with.

      • Panorama removed the overscan for me! big relief

  • Harvey Norman Albury sold out this morning, but allowed me to put a deposit down for an extra 30 units coming in early next week.

    • +2

Gee, you really are keen on this TV if you 'put a deposit down for an extra 30 units', do you have a motel or similar facility? LOL

  • +2

Ok guys, can forget about Appliancesonline now. Just got off with a customer service consultant and she said they are all out of stock until next year.

    Disappointing.

  • I went to Belmont WA and got one ordered in. Staff didn't know anything about the deal until they asked the store manager and he said yeah the deal is on and they will sell out quick.
The lady had to ring another store to get one in for me. :)

  • +1

    Got mine from HN :)

    • Has it VGA to use it as a monitor with a computer?

      • yes

  • Just called Harvey Norman and they are happy to back order one for me at the promo price.

  • Can anybody verify through their research whether this TV will suit a Play Station 3? Currently have an old Conia Plasma TV which doesn't like the HDMI input from the PS3 at all, so blacks are replaced with white noise.

  • Just called HN Cannington WA, a lot in stock but 4 have been sold already. Good luck Perthians

Edit: OP should change that date to now, by Saturday/Sunday it'll probably be sold out.

    • Thanks, have updated the details.

  • +1

Just got mine from HN. although, cannot confirm $45 added warranty as Someone else Mentioned. It is in fact $109 on top of purchase price. Unless you can make them drop further on that. :)

    • omg :o

    • extra warranty on top of the already 3 years?

    • Has it got VGA to use it as a monitor with a computer?

      • +1

Yes it does. But VGA sux.

        Picture of back

        • Currently I have ChangHong 50" wired to PC. Excellent quality and it works like a monitor . I tried HDMI and have got problems with resolution settings and it doesn't go to sleep / wake up modes but it works 80% with VGA. Thanks for the picture.

    • i got quoted $149 but would do it for $99 for extra 4 years replacement warranty :) so 7 years all up… i cant see this tv lasting past 5 years but yeh … 3 years for a $400 50inch tv is fine for most :)

      • I've had my TCL for 7yrs now, lol. i'm shocked at how long it lasted

        • well they have some sort of confidence in their products to give 3 years… that's 2 more than pretty much every other brand

  • Great picked up mine was not going to let me buy more than one as per the web site but showed the paper and sold me more

    • Could you tell us the dimensions of the box it came in?

  • Pulled the trigger. Esp with the 25 off voucher. Nice deal OP!

    • how did you get the 25$ off.. i signed up a while ago and didn't get the $25 discount code. when did you sign up?

      • A mate had the email and he sent it through to me.

  • Purchased one at North Ryde, the lady had no idea about it but when i showed her the advert they did the deal didnt have stock in the back but no big deal for me there's 20 or so ordered for that store so was happy to wait for one to come in. Paid on Amex so should get another $50 off :)

  • Can someone post a photo of the TV (Out of its box) I just want to know if it looks like the L40B2800F on TCL Australia website?

Also, concerning input lag would anyone know if this is suitable for PC gaming?

      • +1

hey thanks! i bought a tv without even seeing it… not at all bad looking :P

      • really like the look of the glass style stand and tv in general

  • BTW for those who signed up for the email listing to get the $25 voucher, I received this comment:
"the welcome email can take up to 48 hours to arrive in peak periods."

So there you go - just be patient.

    • Cheers! Do you still have a link for the $25 one or are they all now only $5 ones?

  • For those in Perth, three in boxes plus display model at O'Connor

  • Got mine from Fortitude Valley… Had about 20ish in stock.

    Cheers,
    Jake

  • Bit of a side post but might potentially help other users out, does anyone have the amex link for Harvey Norman?

    • I don't think there was a direct link. You have to log into your account and see whether the offer is available.

  • Dammit. Getting paid next week. What are they chances of getting a lay-by on this TV @ HN?

    • +3

If you need to wait to pay day to buy a $400 TV, then I suggest you don't

      • +5

Man that's harsh! the guy might be a student no cc etc, surprised people vote for that comment.

        • Truth hurts

        • @betheball:
It doesn't hurt me however if you can only afford a $399 TV……

  • Picked one up tonight. 15 in Stock at knox city apparently. Good picture average sound and cheap remote. Salesman said they would fly out once they put the price tag up on them.

  • Does anyone have a $25 voucher they are not going to use? If so it would be greatly appreciated :D

    • I also would appreciate one if anyone has one, hate to see Gerry get another 25 out of me :D

  • Went instore and ALL TCL are on special tomorrow, the 55" 4K model u55e5691fds is apparently under cost at 1247. Reviews look good, instore it looked good, smart TV, 3D - could be a BARGAIN

  • Gone through all my email accounts and finally found 1 $25 voucher. Ordered one online and wait for picking up.

    • What's the email subject?

      • +1

        A complimentary $25 voucher to spoil…, received on 20/11.

        • bugger… didn't get one of the vouchers… and have stayed strong not to get another tv…
though did get the three hoses from masters for xmas pressies…

  • There's a L40B2800F on the TCL website. Only the size that is differnt I think.
