  • Seems like a decent camera but an almost 2 second startup time? That's mega slow.

  • +1

Great camera not as cheap as previous $279 that a lot of us paid, almost instant start up.and very clear shots even at full zoom optical + digital..

  • Can confirm it works from the last deal. Not an issue and was sent the camera within a week.

I sent mine in 5 days ago and no reply from sony yet i hope they are just busy.

      • Same. I am starting to get a little worried… I only went for it last time because it was such a great deal (I didn't NEED a camera), and happily found out after the fact that the bonus $30 voucher that comes with the camera is re-useable (some have allegedly re-used it 10+ times with no issues).

        • I think its a bit rude that they dont even reply to say they have received our receipt etc. I thought maybe they didnt receive mine so i have sent it 3 times now .The 14 days to send the stuff in expires in 2 days time for me so i hope to hear soon.

  • How does it compare to the RX100?

    • +1

Rx100 only has 3.6x zoom, but is much better for low light shots, and has better picture quality in general due to much larger sensor. But if you need the zoom….

      http://www.findyogi.com/cameras/comparison/sony-cybershot-ds… (general spec comparison)

My personal preference goes to the first gen RX100.

Bigger sensor (one of the most important element) & Carl Zeiss lens (one of the most important element) & bigger max aperture.

Unless you specifically need the 30x zoom, RX100 (still around $390 grey import on e-Bay) seems like a better choice to me. Like billy_bob mentioned, better low light — I find myself taking more pictures at night than taking objects far away.

      • Agreed, I had a Panasonic TZ40, similar to to Sony HX60V, but sold it and got a RX100ii. Picture quality is chalk and cheese, RX100 is WAY better, in fact it's pretty close to SLR quality. I am no longer a fan of these big zoom camera's with tiny sensors. Big sensor and fast lens (F1.8) is the way to go!

      Completely different camera.
Rx100 has 10 times less zoom but bigger sensor. Pick which one you need depending on your use.
I had a big zoom camera for when my son did sports, nippers surf, etc. Perfect style camera for that. Rx100 would have been terrible.

  • suppose this can wait until 15th Dec to get another 10% off through ebay store click n collect. pretty good deal all the same… most other places $399-$499

    • provided they don't jack up the price.. but they didn't jack up the price during the 20% off deal, so you should be okay

  • Might be some discount codes later in the day if lucky.

Held out - Still have stock, and used code "REDNOSE40" got $40 off….

  • "Please ensure you include both the purchase receipt and EFTPOS receipt with your submission."

what did people send when redeeming after a click and collect order seeing as i only got 1 receipt?

    • Just send your original purchase receipt. No other transaction documentation is required.

  • How do we redeem the bonus Action Cam? Thanks

  • +1

Just got confirmation back from Sony that my claim has been processed and can expect the action cam within 10 to 14 days….
