  • PSU: Corsair VS650 65W ATX 12V V2.3 Power Supply

    65 watt PSU might not cut it these days, other than that pretty nice

    • -1

      obvious typo is obvious… :p

  • Decent system @ good price. Only change I would make is ditch the ODD and get a bigger SSD

    • Upgrade the ODD to a blu ray writer and upgrade the SSD.

      • Only time i used my ODD is to install windows,it isnt needed.

        • Some people like to buy physical copies of video games

        • +4

          @Kanasuke:What a waste of money.

  • I just got the parts for a similar system last week, cost me well over a grand. Good Deal CPL

  • MSY:
    1x Corsair… $79.00
    1x Seagate… $62.00
    1x Samsung… $83.00
    1x Corsair… $82.00
    1x LG DVD RW… $19.00 * note: might be slightly diff to CPL
    1x Gigabyte… $219.00
    1x G.Skill… $102.00
    1x Intel Core… $269.00
    1x ASRock… $105.00
    TOTAL = $1020.

    So the prices are good for this deal, specially once you factor in labor.

  • I am in the process of getting this built: Cost $924

    • Whats with the choice of graphics card???? Isn't it entirely redundant in that system since the onboard graphics in the CPU beats the GT610 performance and the motherboard already has HDMI and DVI ports?? I'm confused. If you want a gaming rig you want at least a GT750…

      • Trust me i know the graphic card isn't up to par. This is not a gaming rig. It's been used as an office setup but i wanted a good processor. Computer runs 24/7 and handles multiple software at the same time.

        I wouldn't say GT610 is the same as Intel® HD Graphics 4600. Each has it's own strength. Seeing that the GT610 isn't that expensive, i wanted to include it.

        • I see.. What are the strengths of the GT610 over the HD4600?? It was my understanding (based on very quick research) that the HD4600 beat the GT610 in every way, ie with intel quicksync and other things. I am genuinely interested and would like to be proven wrong, but i thought it would just be a waste of money..?

        • Very comprehensive, thanks!

  • Will this run an oculus rift at 75fps +?

    • For current Oculus compatible games like Elite: Dangerous..? Mmmmmaybe.

      For anything in the future? No.

    • Just upgrade the video card. The Haswell platform will hold out for many, many years to come.

      Hell my Sandy Bridge 2500k is still relevant, I don't see the need to upgrade to a Haswell just to get a 8% performance increase.
