  • WOAH WOAH WOAH eneloop's on Ozbargain?!

    SOLD!

    • Yes - you're right - I typed the wrong price in - sorry!

      • No one was able to answer my question on another listing the other day:
"Can anyone say, for certain, whether the Tropicals DS are now selling are still the Sanyos (as pictured) or the Panos?"

        • I'm pretty certain that they'll be Chinese made Panasonics. There might be some old Japanese made Sanyos floating around, but I'd be surprised if you got them online - maybe in stores, but they've got a different product code, so they'd probably scan at the "regular" price of $49.98

        • I got some the other day online and they were Chinese

        • The Sanyos are here for $34.99: http://www.dicksmith.com.au/camera-accessories/eneloop-aa-re…
Chances are the ones linked in the OP are Panasonic.

        • +1

          @poedgirl:

Is there something wrong with the Panasonic China made ones?

        • @g2420hd:

Yes - although the Chinese made Eneloops are rated for the same number of cycles as the Japanese (4th gen) Eneloops, according to the testing that I've done, they aren't actually as good:
          www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?392229-Japanese-…

        • @OnTheMark:

Which begs the question - are Eneloops still the preferred LSD rechargeable to buy or is there another brand that is better than the Chinese-made ones?

        • @ChiefAJ:

I've had good experience with the LSD ones from hobby King used to be on par with the older eneloops (what I presume were Japanese Sanyo ones). I was going to get some but the shipping kills it for me (still a good deal considering they were on par with Sanyo Eneloops).

Was going to just get these since they are at a decent price but not sure now…

        • @g2420hd:
I did a little bit of reading of the Candlepowered forums and it would seem that the AmazonBasics are rebranded Gen 2 Eneloops. Might be worth a look.

  • Great charger !!!

Got one the other day off Dick for similar money.

  • What's the usual price for the charger?

    • $59.99 - but it's not worth that much!

  • Cool. Picking one up today. Thanks, OnTheMark.

Forgive my ignorance, but why is the overnight charger not recommended?

  • if i buy some will these posts and deals go away?

    • No, the exact opposite. It just makes you click on every Loop posting thereafter! (Hence me being here!)

  • What is it with this batteries that's so popular in here?

    • Eneloop is a trusted brand, although it may be losing that title soon, from the opinions I've seen here.

These are low-self-discharge batteries, much better than your average NiMh battery. At this price, they are definitely affordable, and when teamed with a low-cost charger, will probably save you money overall in a year or so, compared to buying non-rechargeable batteries.

  • Thanks OP.
Click and Collect was seamless. 1 hour and it was ready to go. Lovely!

  • AAA's are showing as $14.98, but when I add them to the cart it's $49.98.
    Anyone else having this problem?

    • yep

  • Why people need "Eneloop" batteries??? I just cannot think of in any way i need rechargeable batteries..

    • Well, when a Mummy and Daddy DONT love each other very much, Mummy needs to… ummm 'find her Eneloops'.

  • I have just lost my eneloop virginity, finally purchasing my first set with a charger.

I guess I was never a true ozbargainer till this day.

Now to try and get dse to add AAAs to my order for $14.98 (instead of their bug which was making them $49.98)
